Abstract

Stunting is a condition where toddlers fail to thrive due to prolonged chronic malnutrition and repeated exposure to infections, especially in the first 1000 days of life (HPK), resulting in short growth in children who do not meet standards. Based on Riskesdas data, the stunting rate in 2023 will reach 21.6% and every year the stunting rate in Indonesia continues to decline. One of the vegetable or legume commodities that is useful in fulfilling nutrition during the growing period is spinach leaves and soybeans. This is because green beans contain complete protein, namely calcium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, vitamins A, B, C. , E, and K. Apart from that, the nutritional content of spinach includes vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, B, C, protein, fat, carbohydrates, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and iron. One local food product that is well received by the public is a drink in the form of herbal powder with the main ingredients being green beans and spinach leaves. This community service (PkM) activity was carried out to introduce the results of innovations in making products that can be produced independently by the people of Way Galih Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung Regency. This activity consists of three stages including preparation, implementation and evaluation stages. The results of this activity are an increase in the understanding of the Way Galih Village community regarding education about stunting as well as nutritional information needed by children during the growth period which can be obtained through foods that are easy to find in everyday life such as green beans and spinach.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengolah limbah tahu menjadi produk bernilai tambah, yaitu pupuk organik cair (POC) dari whey tahu dan abon ayam dari ampas tahu. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Desa Padang Rejo dengan melibatkan kelompok PKK dan kelompok tani sebagai peserta. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup sosialisasi, demonstrasi pembuatan produk, serta diskusi interaktif mengenai manfaat dan potensi ekonomi dari pengelolaan limbah tahu. Hasil kuesioner menunjukkan sebagian besar peserta menilai materi mudah dipahami, proses pembuatan jelas, dan produk bermanfaat. Pada kegiatan POC, 100% peserta berminat mencoba pembuatan mandiri, sementara pada kegiatan abon, 80% peserta tertarik mengembangkan produk pangan berbasis limbah tahu. Temuan ini menegaskan keberhasilan PkM dalam meningkatkan kesadaran, motivasi, dan keterampilan masyarakat terkait pengelolaan limbah tahu secara produktif. Program ini juga memberikan dampak positif terhadap penerapan ekonomi sirkular, pengurangan limbah, serta pemberdayaan masyarakat, mendukung kemandirian ekonomi dan pertanian berkelanjutan di tingkat lokal.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is a contagious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Isoniazid, a synthetic antimicrobial agent, remains one of the most crucial first-line medications in TB therapy. Enhancing TB treatment strategies can be achieved through structural modifications of existing drugs. This study investigates the potential of isoniazid derivatives as anti-tuberculosis agents targeting the CYP3A4 protein complexed with a small-molecule inhibitor (PDB ID: 6MA8) and evaluates their toxicity profiles using in silico methods. The ligands analyzed include isoniazid derivatives 1–5, with isoniazid as a reference compound and protoporphyrin as the native ligand. The structure of ligands was prepared using Avogadro software and optimized with ORCA software. The crystal structures of 6MA8 were retrieved from the PDB database and further validated using YASARA. In silico methods such as molecular docking and ProTox prediction were employed to evaluate the potential of these isoniazid derivatives as anti-TB drugs. The interactions were visualized using Biovia Discovery to assess the interaction between the isoniazid derivatives and the receptor. The results showed derivative 4 exhibited the lowest binding affinity (-71.56 kcal/mol) compared to isoniazid (-65.90 kcal/mol), derivative 1 (-63.65 kcal/mol), derivative 2 (-67.01 kcal/mol), derivative 3 (-67.37 kcal/mol), derivative 5 (-69.02 kcal/mol), and native ligand (-182.68 kcal/mol). Biovia Discovery Studio simulations indicated that the isoniazid derivatives interacted with 6MA8 via conventional hydrogen bonds, carbon-hydrogen bonds, and other interactions. The toxicity analysis showed that the derivatives had safe LD50 values, supporting their safety profiles. These results suggest that isoniazid derivatives have promising potential as anti-tuberculosis agents targeting 6MA8.

Abstract

Bonggol nanas (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) merupakan limbah dari buah nanas yang berperan sebagai antibakteri karena memiliki kandungan senyawa flavonoid, saponin, enzim bromelin, dan tanin. Bonggol nanas dibuat dalam bentuk fermentasi kombucha menghasilkan asam organik yang dapat meningkatkan potensi antibakteri bonggol nanas, kemudian diformulasikan sebagai hand soap untuk mengurangi diare. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh variasi konsentrasi kombucha bonggol nanas terhadap sifat dan stabilitas fisik sediaan hand soap, serta pengaruhnya terhadap aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri S.aureus. Formula sediaan hand soap terdapat empat formula yang memiliki perbedaan variasi konsentrasi kombucha yaitu 0% (F0), 15% (F1), 25% (F2), dan 35% F3. Hasil uji sifat fisik pada F0 berwarna kuning, F1 berwarna orange, F2 berwarna orange tua, F3 berwarna orange kecoklatan, berbau nanas, dan tekstur kental, memiliki pH 7,68 - 7,19, tinggi busa 81-110 mm, viskositas 860,00-1396,33 cPs, bobot jenis 1,04-1,09 g/mL, serta kadar air 37,79%-26,55%. Setelah dilakukan stabilitas fisik terjadi penurunan pH, viskositas, bobot jenis dan peningkatan kadar air, namun busa tetap stabil. Aktivitas antibakteri sangat kuat terdapat pada F3 dengan daya hambat 22,16 ± 2,24 mm. Berdasarkan hasil uji tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa sediaan hand soap yang diformulasikan berkhasiat sebagai antibakteri dan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mengurangi terjadinya diare.
