Abstract

Motivasi adalah dorongan dasar dalam menggerakkan seseorang bertingkah laku lebih baik untuk memenuhi kebutuhannya. Motivasi untuk mempertahankan gigi tetap yang berlubang dilihat dari nilai performed tretment index (PTI). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengetahuan, persepsi dan sarana prasarana terhadap motivasi dalam mempertahankan gigi tetap yang berkaries pada pasien yang berkunjung ke poli gigi Puskesmas Kupang Kota. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan rancangan cross sectional study. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 63 orang. Variabel persepsi dan sarana prasarana diukur dengan kuesioner menggunakan skala Likert. Variabel pengetahuan menggunakan pernyataan benar dan salah untuk mengetahui motivasi pasien dalam mempertahankan gigi tetap yang berkaries pada pasien berkunjung ke poli gigi Puskesmas Kupang Kota. Hasil analisis korelasi menunjukkan bahwa variabel pengetahuan (p=0.340) dan persepsi (p=0.023) tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan dengan motivasi. Hasil analisis regresi berganda menunjukkan bahwa variabel sarana prasana (p=0.000) berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap motivasi. Variabel sarana prasana memberikan kontribusi sebesar 57.4% (R2=0.574) terhadap motivasi dalam mempertahankaan gigi tetap pada pasien yang berkunjung ke poli gigi Puskesmas Kupang Kota. Hasil penelitian, Semakin baik sarana prasana kesehatan gigi maka semakin tinggi motivasi dalam mempertahankan gigi tetap yang berkaries. Pengetahuan dan persepsi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi dalam mempertahankan gigi tetap yang berkaries

Abstract

Karies gigi merupakan salah satu penyakit gigi dan mulut yang terbanyak terdapat dimasyarakat (Riskesdas, 2018). Di Propinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur, pada anak dengan kelompok umur 12 tahun keadaan gigi rusak, berlubang ataupun sakit menunjukkan angka 43,32%. Terapis gigi dan mulut mempunyai peran yang penting dalam mendeteksi, mengidentifikasi dan manajemen dental karies (Yamamoto dan Fannon, 2015). Berdasarkan data hasil Riskesdas 2018, persentasi jumlah anak yang sudah pernah mendapatkan perawatan fissure sealant hanyalah kelompok anak usia 15 tahun dan cuma 0.1% dari total sampel. Hal ini menunjukkan masih rendahnya ketercapaian program pencegahan penyakit gigi dan mulut dimasyarakat, sedangkan angka karies gigi pada anak cukup tinggi (DMF-T anak usia 12 tahun adalah 1.9) dan semakin meningkat dengan bertambahnya usia anak (Riskesdas 2018). Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui distribusi kasus fissure sealants di Kabupaten Kupang. Kasus gigi yang membutuhkan perawatan fissure sealant berdasarkan jenis kelamin, pada perempuan sebanyak 35.40%, laki-laki sebanyak 34.16%. Berdasarkan kelompok usia yang mempunyai indikasi perawatan fissure sealant maka anak pada usia 7 tahun yang mempunyai indikasi perawatan fissure sealant yang terbanyak yaitu 31.68%, diikuti oleh anak usia 8 tahun 24.22%, 6 tahun sebanyak 9.32% dan anak usia 9 tahun 4.35%. Dari keempat gigi molar pertama permanen yang dinilai, gigi molar pertama bawah kanan mempunyai jumlah indikasi kebutuhan perawatan fissure sealant yang lebih tinggi yaitu 92 (14.29%) gigi dan diikuti dengan gigi molar pertama kiri bawah dengan jumlah 89 (13.82%) gigi, gigi molar pertama kiri atas dengan jumlah 58 (9.01%) gigi dan gigi molar pertama kanan atas dengan jumlah 53 (8.23%) gigi yang terindikasi memerlukan perawatan fissure sealant

Abstract

Background: Dental and oral health is an integral part of overall health that can affect a person's quality of life so that it becomes a very important concern in Indonesia's health development, especially in elementary school-aged children. One way to increase children's knowledge is through online counseling using puzzles and posters. Research objective: to determine the effect of online counseling using puzzle media and posters on dental caries knowledge in students of Naikoten State Elementary School, Kupang City. The research design used a Quasi Experiment with a nonequivalent control group research design. Sampling was saturated sampling. The research instrument used a questionnaire and the analysis used SPSS with the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. The results of the study: there is an influence between the level of knowledge of students who are given counseling using puzzle media is greater than poster media. This is evidenced by the results of the Mann-Whitney test, which obtained a p-value of 0.001 <0.05. From the results of the above study it was concluded that there was an effect before and after online counseling using pulzze media and posters.

Abstract

Proper care for dental and oral health needs to be performed since early ages. Elementary school students should develop good habit related to dental health by regular teeth brushing and consuming health food, including at school. Dental health cadres have been appointed to assist dental health workers in carrying out efforts to maintain the dental and oral health of school members. Teachers are potential dental health cadres who can guide students to develop proper dental health behavior at schools. Purpose: This community service was administered to enhance the knowledge and skills of dentalhealth cadres to be able to assist elementary school students in improving their dental and oral health. Method: The training was conducted through lectures, demonstrations and simulations for teachers as dental health cadres at Manefu Elementary School, Taebenu District. Some educational media were used including posters, phantoms and toothbrushes and training manuals. Training and simulations on how to properly brush teeth and maintain dental health were held. In this study,a quasi-experimental pretest and posttest design was also performed and data of the study were analyzed using the paired sample test. Results: Training and assistance program for dental health cadres was found effective in improving the knowledge and skills of dental health cadres with a p-value of 0.000.

The research design uses a quasi-experimental research design with a non-equivalent control group design. Sampling was by purposive sampling, the instrument in the study used a questionnaire and the analysis used SPSS with the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. The results of the study: there is a significant difference in the number of scores between the puzzle media game and the snakes and ladders media game. This is evidenced by the results of the Mann-Whitney test, which obtained a p-value of 0.000 <0.05. From the results of the study it was concluded that there was an increase in the level of knowledge of children who were given games using snakes and ladders media more effectively than children who were given games using puzzle media.

Abstract

Karies gigi menjadi masalah karena menurut hasil Survei Kesehatan Dasar Indonesia 2018 rata-rata DT/dt di Indonesia adalah 4,5, angka ini menunjukkan bahwa setiap orang rata-rata memiliki 4-5 gigi berlubang yang perlu ditambal, sedangkan  jumlah gigi berkaries yang telah ditumpat hanya mencapai 0,1%. Program yang bisa dilakukan secara efektif untuk mengurangi resiko karies pada permukaan gigi pit dan fissure adalah melalui perawatan pit dan fisura sealant. Metode Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan dalam tiga tahapan yaitu  edukasi kesehatan gigi, membimbing menyikat gig dan melakukan penumpatan fissure sealant sesuai dengan indikasi. Hasil: tingkat pengetahuan anak tentang cara menyikat gigi meningkat setelah diberi edukasi kesehatan gigi, keterampilan responden setelah dibimbing menyikat gigi adalah sudah menjadi lebih baik karena nilai debris indeks responden telah berubah dari sedang menjadi baik (35.71%) dan dari buruk menjadi sedang (64.29%), Perawatan fissure sealant telah dilakukan pada seluruh anak yang mempunyai fissure dalam (25 anak). Kesimpulan: Edukasi kesehatan gigi tentang cara menyikat gigi yang baik dan benar dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan responden tentang cara menyikat gigi, Kegiatan bimbingan sikat gigi kepada responden dapat meningkat status kebersihan gigi dan mulut terutama debris indeksnya. Tindakan perawatan terhadap fissure dalam dengan melakukan perawatan fissure sealant dapat mengurangi resiko karies oklusal pada responden.

Abstract

Masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut merupakan masalah yang cukup tinggi dialami di Indonesia, sehingga dibutuhkan tindakan promotif dan preventif dengan cara menerapkan edukasi permainan kesehatan gigi dan mulut dimulai sejak usia dini. Berbagai penerapan edukasi yang biasa sering digunakan yaitu metode ceramah yang kurang menarik bagi anak-anak. Berbagai hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa metode tersebut kurang efektif bagi anak-anak. Metode yang lebih menarik dan menyenangkan bagi anak-anak salah satu diantaranya adalah metode permainan yang digunakan sebagai media dalam penerapan edukasi kesehatan gigi. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini dengan cara sosialisasi permainan puzzle, pre-test, melakukan permainan, post-test, dilanjutkan dengan sikat gigi bersama pada siswa-siswi kelas IV dan V. Analisis menggunakan SPSS versi 16 menggunakan uji wilcoxon. Hasil pengabdian diketahui nilai signifikan sebelum (pre-test) dan sesudah (post-tes) diberikan permainan menggunakan media puzzle 0.000 (p<0.05), Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa permainan menggunakan media puzzle efektif dalam meningkatkan tingkat pengetahuan anak tentang karies gigi pada anak SD GMIT Baumata dan SD Negeri 2 Baumata Timur.
