Abstract

The purposes of this study are, the first, to describe the integrative curriculum planning of madrasah and pesantren in MAN 2 Pasuruan. Secondly, to describe the implementation of an integrative curriculum of madrasah and pesantren in MAN 2 Pasuruan, and thirdly, to describe an integrative curriculum evaluation of madrasah and pesantren in MAN 2 Pasuruan. This study uses a qualitative approach with case study type research at MAN 2 Pasuruan. The data collection is conducted with observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction techniques, data presentation, drawing conclusion and verification. The results of the research in MAN 2 Pasuruan are: 1) integrative curriculum plannings of madrasah and pesantren are applied by: a) curriculum objectives integration and b) integration of organization of curriculum content. 2) Implementations of integrative curriculum madrasah and pesantren are done by: a) integration of program implementation of the curriculum and b) integration of curriculum implementation supervision. 3) Evaluation of integrative curriculum madrasah and pesantren is done by evaluate the curriculum in coordination between madrasah and pesantren, which include: a) evaluation of curriculum context, b) evaluation of curriculum input, c) evaluation of curriculum process and d) evaluation of the curriculum products.

Abstract

Takhrij al-Hadis is a search or search for traditions from various original sources by presenting the complete matan and sanad and then examining the quality of the hadith. In this study, researchers explore the quality of the Hadith on the virtues of marriage. The research uses a literature study as a study knife whose primary data is processed qualitatively with a descriptive-analytical method where it is sourced from books and journals related to takhrij hadith on the Hadith on the virtues of marriage and the Hadith on marriage guardians. This study found that the Hadith about the virtue of marriage has the status of Shohih and. This is because there are no defects in the narrators who are on average tsiqqoh narrators. This Hadith can be used as an argument and legal basis for Muslims.

Abstract

This study examines life's different ideas, values, and views, which are the basis of pesantren's thinking and philosophy. It leads to the contestation of educational ideology in determining the ways, values, and methods in pesantren’s education. Influenced by the Naqsabandiyah-Kholidiyah order, it emphasises traditional salafiyyah sorogan learning methods alongside practices of spiritual discipline, or tirakat, to deepen Islamic understanding. Over time, however, this foundation was supplanted by a diniyyah educational ideology, which structured classroom learning around classical texts and adopted the missionary methods of the tabligh cong-regation. It emphasises adherence to the Sunnah and mosque-centered outreach, which became central to Al Fatah Temboro's philosophy. Data collection for this study involved direct and indirect observations, structured interviews with key informants, and analysis of pesantren documentation. Data were then reduced, categorised, and verified through triangulation to ensure accuracy. The findings reveal that ideological competition within Al Fatah Temboro eventually led to establishing a unique ideology that defines the institution today. It becomes one of the greatest pesantren in Indonesia, with the diniyyah education system: Jamaah Tabligh, called as diniyyah jamaah tabligh.

Abstract

This study examines how Salafi Muslimah in Yogyakarta negotiate the implementation of Living Hadith in public spaces, particularly in relation to gender roles. Using a qualitative case study approach, it analyzes interpretations of hadith concerning women's obedience to their husbands, hijab, and religious participation. Data were collected through six months of participant observation and in-depth interviews with twelve informants from four universities, whose identities were anonymized to ensure privacy. Methodological rigor was maintained through triangulation, member checking, and peer debriefing to enhance the study's validity. Data analysis was conducted using thematic coding. The findings indicate that many Salafi Muslimah participants tend to adopt a literal and conservative interpretation of hadith. However, instances of negotiation were also observed, reflecting internal discourse within the community. These results contribute to the broader discourse on how Muslim women engage with religious teachings in their daily lives, particularly within the Salafi movement, which is noted for its strict adherence to traditional religious texts. Despite its significant contributions, this study is limited by its narrow geographical focus and reliance on qualitative methods, which may not fully capture the diversity of interpretations across different Salafi communities. Future research should expand the geographical scope and adopt mixed-method approaches to provide a more comprehensive understanding of this phenomenon.

Abstract

Purpose – The study was conducted to comprehend the way Graduate School students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Indonesia, define tolerance, and view its significance and evidence-based practices that benefit the community and society. The comprehension could be used to mitigate conflicts and tensions which in turn positively affect societal living conditions. All of these aim to eradicate intolerance toward minority groups and ultimately strengthen the national harmony. Methods – The qualitative study was run through interview with the students. Additionally, a literature review was also implemented to enrich primary data. Twelve students of School of Graduate Studies of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta were solicited through a convenience sampling, in which invitation letters were sent to them together with the informed consent. Those who responded to the letters were recruited to be participants. Data was gathered through individual interviews, and a focus group discussion was conducted at the end to consolidate overall data. We analyzed the data through intensive reading of verbatim transcripts prior to categorization establishment. Then, clusters were created for establishing themes. Findings – Understandings of religious tolerance can be explored in some critical issues such as freedom to religion in light of human rights and limitation, concepts of tolerance, significance of religious tolerance, evidence-based practice of such tolerance, and understanding benefits for societal harmony. Research implications/limitations – The twelve participants involving in the study imply significant impacts to Indonesian society as the Indonesian government is intensively maintaining tolerance and harmony for the nation unity despite the different background society’s existence. The small number of the participants cannot lessen the research validity because the study does not seek generalizability but understands the knowledge and experience of the participants. Originality/value – The research contributes to boost both individual and society for promoting religious tolerance values.

Abstract

The development of an Early Childhood Education (ECE) curriculum based on hadith is a response to the need for a framework that systematically instills moral and spiritual values from an early age. As an authentic source of Islamic teachings, hadith is considered to have great potential in shaping the character of virtuous children through a holistic and contextual educational approach. This study aims to formulate a conceptual foundation for the development of a hadith-based ECE curriculum that is not only theoretically relevant but also practically applicable. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this research identifies and analyzes 30 scholarly articles published between 2020 and 2025 related to early childhood education based on Islamic values in the Southeast Asian context. The results indicate that integrating hadith values such as honesty, compassion, responsibility, and politeness can be effectively implemented through play-based activities, daily routines, and child-friendly digital learning media. Additionally, the roles of teachers, the validity of hadith, and curriculum management are critical factors in the successful implementation of this curriculum. The study concludes that a hadith-based ECE curriculum is both urgent and highly potential in shaping a Qur’anic generation that is spiritually grounded, morally resilient, and adaptable to the demands of the times. Therefore, synergy among educators, educational institutions, and the broader community is essential in realizing an Islamic, practical, and joyful learning environment.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenerapan metode bercerita dalam pendidikan anak usia dini berbasis hadis semakin penting di tengah kebutuhan penguatan nilai agama dan karakter sejak dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas dan implementasi metode bercerita berbasis hadis dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai Islam pada anak usia dini, serta mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan kendala dalam penerapannya di lingkungan PAUD. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan tinjauan literatur sistematis (systematic literature review)terhadap 42 artikel terbitan 2019–2025, dengan analisis tematik untuk mengidentifikasi tren, metode, dan hasil penelitian. Hasil telaah menunjukkan bahwa metode bercerita berbasis hadis sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman, antusiasme, dan internalisasi nilai agama, moral, serta karakter Islami pada anak. Kisah-kisah nabi dan hadis yang dikemas menarik, didukung alat peraga dan mediadigital, mampu memperkuat keterlibatan dan kecerdasan spiritual anak. Namun, tantangan masih ditemukan pada keterbatasan media pembelajaran, keterampilan guru, serta dukungan orang tua dan fasilitas sekolah. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan kolaborasi antara guru, sekolah, dan orang tua, serta pengembangan media inovatif dan pelatihan guru agar metode bercerita berbasis hadis dapat diimplementasikan secara optimal di berbagai konteks PAUD.Kata Kunci: Metode Bercerita, Hadis, Karakter, PAUD

Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of the Islamic education system from the perspective of hadith through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach using the PRISMA protocol. The research is grounded in the significance of hadith as a primary source of Islamic teachings after the Qur'an, encompassing educational principles such as goals, roles of educators and learners, teaching methods, and instructional content. A total of 50 selected scholarly articles were thematically analyzed. The findings reveal that the Prophet’s hadiths offer both normative and practical foundations for Islamic education, emphasizing character formation, spirituality, and social transformation. The hadith-based Islamic education system is holistic, contextual, and transformative. Moreover, Islamic education has shown resilience over time due to its roots in divine revelation and the Prophet’s traditions. This study underscores the importance of integrating hadith values into the development of the Islamic education system to address contemporary global challenges.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji praktik zikir pagi dan petang dalam keluarga sebagai bentuk living hadis dengan menganalisis dampak spiritual, psikologis, serta pendidikan karakter yang ditimbulkannya. Fokus penelitian diarahkan pada bagaimana orang tua dan anak berperan dalam menghidupkan amalan sunnah Nabi Muhammad SAW di ruang domestik keluarga. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi living hadis. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, serta dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teori tazkiyatun nafs Al-Ghazali dan konsep pendidikan keluarga Abdurrahman An-Nahlawi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktik zikir pagi dan petang dalam keluarga berfungsi ganda: sebagai ritual spiritual yang memperkuat kesadaran ketuhanan sekaligus sebagai sarana pendidikan karakter Islami melalui habituasi dan keteladanan. Temuan ilmiah mengindikasikan bahwa zikir rutin mampu menciptakan keharmonisan keluarga, meningkatkan resiliensi psikologis anak, menumbuhkan disiplin ibadah, serta membentuk identitas budaya religius lintas generasi. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini mempertegas bahwa rumah tangga merupakan locus utama pengamalan hadis Nabi Muhammad SAW dalam konteks kontemporer, serta memberikan kontribusi baru bagi pengembangan studi hadis dan pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

This study analyzes the internalization, interpretation, and practice of the Living Hadith “Afdhalul a’māl aṣ-ṣalāh fī waqtihā” (performing prayer on time) among postgraduate students of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, and identifies the influencing factors. Using a qualitative approach with a Living Hadith design, data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The hadith is understood not merely as ritual duty but as a moral value of discipline and time management, shaping a religious habitus. This appears in practices such as pausing classes for prayer, scheduling studies around prayer times, and using prayer for emotional regulation. Yet, gaps persist between ideals and practice due to overlapping schedules and cultural tendencies to delay prayer. The study concludes that the vitality of Living Hadith depends on both individual awareness and institutional support aligning academic systems with spiritual values.
