Abstract

A research has been done on the daily activities of “Namdur Polos” or Bowerbird (Amblyornis inornatus) on the pre-copulation period in the Arfak Montain Protected Areas, especially in the district of Sururey, West Anggi. The variables observed in the research are decoration, feeding, socialization and home range activities. The result shows that Namdur Polos spend 8,5% in decoration, 10,2% in feeding and 81,3% in socialization. It was concluded that the bowerbird invests a lot of time on the social activity during the pre copulation period, shown by playing on the twigs above the “copulation hut”.

Abstract

Learning in the 21st-century class expects teachers to apply learning that invites students to conduct investigations. Guided inquiry learning is an example of learning that can train students' investigative abilities. This study aimed to analyze the validity and response of students on the used of coordination system teaching materials oriented guided inquiry. This research was part of research and development research that adapts the 4D model. The research subjects were 17 students of XI Grade SMA YPK Oikoumene Manokwari. Three experts and three practitioners were used for the validation process and a focus group discussion (FGD). Validation results showed that the coordination system teaching material oriented guided inquiry was valid and can be used for testing in the classroom. The response of students in the small group trial showed that learning could improve their motivation, comprehension, skill and interested in biology teaching. Their response is excellent. It can be concluded that the coordination system for teaching material oriented guided inquiry can be using for the next stage of testing to see its effectiveness. The effectiveness of learning in the next trial will be carried out in the future.

Abstract

Wasti lake in Manokwari is one of the mangrove forest areas located on the coast of Manokwari and has ecological, economic and socio-cultural potential. Development continues, land conversion for settlement and economic development will have a negative impact on the sustainability of the mangrove ecosystem in Wasti Lake. Thus, this study aims to determine the vegetation structure of the mangrove forest at Telaga Wasti and its ecological potential to prepare teaching materials for ecology courses at the Biology Education Study Program, University of Papua. This research was conducted in May - July 2022. The method used is the line method (transect line) and the quadratic method. Data was collected on plots measuring 20m x 20m for tree vegetation, 10m x 10m for pole vegetation, 5m x 5m for saplings and 2m x 2m for seedlings. The results of data analysis showed that the mangrove vegetation structure consisted of 7 species from 4 families. The highest INP at tree level for both stations was Sonneratia alba, while the highest INP for pole level at station I was Rhizophora stylosa and station II was Sonneratia alba. The highest level of sapling at station I INP was Rhizophora stylosa and at station II the highest INP was R. apiculata. Then the highest INP station I seedling vegetation was R. stylosa and the highest INP Station II was R. apuculata.

Abstract

Ketersediaan sumber belajar berbasis digital masih belum merata ke seluruh sekolah di Indonesia. Guru belum punya waktu untuk mendesain sendiri dan menyesuaikan dengan kebutuhan siswa. Kondisi ini menyebabkan hasil belajar siswa menurun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dampak penggunaan flipbook digital terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Desain one group pre-test post-test digunakan untuk 26 siswa. Seluruh siswanya duduk di bangku kelas dua (kelas VIII) di salah satu SMP Negeri di Manokwari. Sebanyak sepuluh item pilihan ganda digunakan untuk mengukur hasil belajar siswa. Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon dan juga dilakukan perhitungan n-gain. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebelum menggunakan flipbook digital adalah 57,69. Pengukuran pada akhir pembelajaran menunjukkan adanya peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa dengan skor rata-rata sebesar 96,92. Selisih peningkatan hasil belajar siswa sebesar 39,23. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan p = 0,000 < 0,005. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa flipbook digital berdampak pada hasil belajar siswa. Hasil perhitungan n-gain menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa berada pada kategori tinggi (0,93). Flipbook digital mempunyai dampak yang kuat terhadap hasil belajar siswa, dimana mereka dapat mencapai peningkatan prestasi yang tinggi. Flipbook digital berhasil meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran sistem peredaran darah manusia.

Abstract

Pengelolaan masalah sampah tidak hanya dapat dilakukan di masyarakat umum, tetapi di bidang pendidikan dapat pula dilakukan. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah melatih guru SMP dalam merakit alat pengubah energi panas yang dihasilkan dari pembakaran sampah menjadi energi listrik. Pengabdian dilakukan kepada 25 guru SMP di dua sekolah yang ada di Kabupaten Bintuni. Angket sebagai pengumpul data pemahaman dan ketertarikan guru terkait pengabdian yang telah dilaksanakan. Pengabdian berjalan dengan sangat baik. Guru dapat merangkai alat pengubah energi panas menjadi energi listrik melalui pembakaran sampah. Pemahaman mereka terkait kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakan sebesar 82.61% untuk skor 9 – 10, 13.04% untuk skor 8, dan sisanya sebesar 4.24% berada pada skor 6. Ketertarikan mereka terhadap kegiatan adalah 100% tertarik. Tidak ditemukan guru yang merasa tidak tertarik. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian mengindikasikan bahwa pelatihan yang diberikan kepada guru dapat meningkatkan pemahaman mereka terkait cara mengubah sampah menjadi energi listrik. Mereka dapat merangkai alat dengan baik dan membuat mereka sangat tertarik.

Abstract

Used cooking oil is a liquid material produced from the use of oil for frying. This oil is often not reused and is simply thrown into the environment. If you throw it in the sink it will cause a blockage. Throwing it out in the open causes pollution. The dedication aims to train junior high school teachers in managing used cooking oil into aromatherapy candles in various colors. 25 teachers were involved in the competition. They are spread across two schools in Bintuni district, West Papua. Data was collected using a questionnaire. The results of the service show that they are 100% interested in the activities they have carried out. Most of their knowledge (86.96%) is very good in managing used cooking oil into products with useful value. The other percentage shows good understanding. The results of the service indicate that junior high school teachers have succeeded in absorbing information and improving their skills in producing aromatherapy candle products from used oil.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Learning is a form of conscious effort made by individuals to obtain behavioral changes through training and experience involving cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects to achieve certain goals. In the process of learning activities, students have different learning tendencies such as visual and auditory learning styles. Therefore, different strategies are needed to obtain optimal results.. The purpose of this activity was to provide students with an understanding of how to learn effectively and at the same time provide stationery assistance to support the learning process for students at Primary School 54, in Aipiri Village. This counseling was carried out at Primary School 54 Aipiri, Aipiri Village, East Manokwari District. This activity was attended by 23 people consisting of 21 students and 2 teachers. This activity was carried out through 3 stages, namely the preparation stage, counseling and distribution of stationery. Counseling was carried out using lecture and discussion methods using visual media tools, power point slides and videos. The results of the activity showed that the counseling participants were very enthusiastic about participating in this activity, which was indicated by the activeness of the students in asking questions and answering questions from the Community Service Team. Some effective ways for students to learn include (1) how to study in groups; (2) how to read books; (3) how to take notes; (4) how to follow lessons; (5) how to repeat lessons; (6) how to concentrate and (7) how to memorize lessons. At the end of the activity, stationery distribution was handed over to the school principal and stationery was distributed to students. It was concluded that the application of effective and efficient learning methods can significantly improve student learning outcomes.  Keywords: Aipiri; Learning Method; Effective; Counseling; Student.   ABSTRAK  Belajar merupakan suatu bentuk usaha sadar yang dilakukan oleh individu untuk memperoleh perubahan tingkah laku baik melalui latihan dan pengalaman yang menyangkut aspek kognitif, afektif dan psikomotorik untuk memperoleh tujuan tertentu. Dalam proses kegiatan belajar, siswa memiliki kecenderungan cara belajar yang berbeda-beda seperti gaya belajar visual, auditori. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan strategi yang berbeda pula untuk bisa mendapatkan hasil yang optimal.  Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada pada siswa tentang cara belajar yang efektif dan sekaligus memberikan bantuan alat tulis untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran bagi siswa/siswi di SD Negeri 54, di Kampung Aipiri.  Penyuluhan ini dilaksanakan di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 54 Aipiri Kampung Aipiri, Distrik Manokwari Timur.  Kegiatan ini diikuti 23 orang terdiri atas 21 orang siswa dan 2 orang guru.  Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui 3 tahap yaitu tahap persiapan,  penyuluhan dan pembagian alat tulis.  Penyuluhan dilakukan menggunakan metode ceramah dan diskusi dengan menggunakan alat bantu media visual slide power point dan video.  Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peserta penyuluhan sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan ini yang diindikasikan dengan keaktifan siswa/siswi untuk mengajukan pertanyaan dan menjawab pertanyaan dari Tim Pengabdi.  Beberapa cara belajar siswa yang efektif meliputi (1) cara belajar kelompok; (2) cara membaca buku; (3) cara membuat catatan; (4) cara mengikuti pelajaran; (5) cara mengulang pelajaran; (6) cara melakukan konsentrasi dan (7) cara menghafal pelajaran.  Pada akhir kegiatan dilakukan penyerahan bantuan alat tulis kepada kepala sekolah dan pembagian alat tulis kepada siswa.  Disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode belajar yang efektif dan efisien dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa secara signifikan.    Kata kunci: Aipiri; Cara Belajar; Efektif; Penyuluhan; Siswa.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the difference in student achievement that used problem solving learning model and conventional learning model. The type of research was quasi experimental. The research was conducted at SMP N 11 Manokwari. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. A number of the sample the control group of 31 students and the experimental group of 30 students. Data analysis used independent t-test at significant level 0,05 with help of SPSS 22 for Windows program. The results showed that there was a difference in the student achievement (P = 0,000 <0.05), where the N-Gain value of experimental group was 0.4 and the control group was 0.3. The conclusion, there is a difference in the improvement of student achievement, where the students who learn by using the problem solving learning model higher the improvement of student achievement compared to the students who learn by using the conventional learning model.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Digital village is a concept that implements a government service system, community service, and community empowerment based on the use of information technology connected to a wireless network. The purpose of this technical guidance  activity is to introduce and independently operate the application features contained in Opensid to the head and staff of Sumber Boga Village and improve public services for village officials to the community. The technical guidance  activity was carried out in Sumber Boga Village, Masni District, Manokwari Regency in the third week of August 2024. Participants in the activity consisted of the Head of Sumber Boga Village and staff, residents and KKN members. The stages of the activity include (a) Preparation and Coordination with the Head of Sumber Boga Village; (b) Socialization of the Introduction to Campus Digitalization; (c) Introduction and Practice of Customizing the OpenSID Dashboard. The results of the activity showed that the bimtek activity attended by the Head and staff of Sumberboga Village went well. The village head gave full support to this activity because the results of this activity would help village officials in providing services to the community. The village website has been functioning well and has been used to disseminate the potential of the village. In addition, it is also used for village administration services. Technical guidance for village digitalization implemented in Bogasari Village has been going well and has provided benefits for village officials in terms of community service.  Keywords:  Digital; OpenSID; Sumber Boga; Technical Guidance; Village   ABSTRAK  Kampung digital adalah suatu konsep yang menerapkan sistem pelayanan pemerintahan, pelayanan masyarakat, dan pemberdayaan masyarakat berbasis pemanfaatan teknologi informasi yang terhubung dengan jaringan nirkabel.  Tujuan kegiatan bimbingan teknis (bimtek) ini yaitu  memperkenalkan dan mengopersikan secara mandiri fitur-fitur aplikasi yang terdapat pada Opensid kepada kepala dan staf Kampung Sumber Boga dan meningkatkan pelayanan publik aparat kampung kepada masyarakat.  Kegiatan bimbingan teknis  dilaksanakan di Kampung sumber Boga, Distrik Masni, Kabupaten Manokwari pada minggu ketiga bulan Agustus 2024.  Peserta kegiatan terdiri atas Kepala Kampung Sumber Boga dan staf, warga dan peserta Kuliah Kerja Nyata.  Tahapan kegiatan meliputi (a) Persiapan dan Koordinasi dengan Kepala Kampung Sumber Boga; (b) Sosialisasi Pengantar Digitalisasi Kampu; (c) Pengenalan dan Praktik Customisasi Dashboard OpenSID.  Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan bimtek yang dikuti oleh Kepala dan staf Kampung Sumberboga berjalan dengan baik. Kepala kampung memberikan dukungan penuh terhadap kegiatan ini karena hasil kegiatan ini akan membantu aparat kampung dalam memberikan pelayanan kepada masyarakat.  Website kampung telah berfungsi dengan baik dan telah digunakan untuk menyebarluaskan potensi kampung. Abstract

Background: Student activity and their achievement in science teaching in junior high school are still declining, which causes them to fail in learning. Methods: . This study employs problem-based learning (PBL) to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes, particularly regarding the material on the digestive system. A total of 30 grade VIII students from one of the Islamic junior high schools in the Manokwari city area participated in the teaching. The study began with planning learning, actions, and observations, and ended with reflection in each cycle. We conducted the study in two cycles. Results: The findings of the study indicated that student activity increased by 5%, where in cycle I it was 95% and in cycle II it reached 100%. From cycle I to II, the percentage of student learning outcomes increased by 43.34%. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the implementation of PBL can enhance the learning outcomes and activities of students in class VIIIA of junior high school regarding the human digestive system.
