Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the Sore Ceria broadcast program on PRO 2 RRI Bengkulu contributes to strengthening the organizational brand image of Radio Republik Indonesia as a public broadcasting institution. Radio as a conventional mass media still plays an important role in delivering information, entertainment, and education to society, especially at the local level. However, the development of digital media requires radio institutions to adapt through broadcast program strategies that are relevant to the needs of audiences, particularly young listeners. This research applies a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including in depth interviews, broadcast observations, and documentation. The research informants consist of the program producer, announcer, and a local small business owner who has participated as a guest in the program. Data analysis was conducted using a framing model consisting of four elements, namely defining problems, diagnosing causes, making moral judgment, and providing treatment recommendations. The findings indicate that the Sore Ceria program frames issues related to youth and local entrepreneurs in the context of developing potential, creativity, and independence in the digital era. The program presents inspirational speakers, provides interactive dialogue opportunities, and delivers practical solutions related to education, motivation, and business development. Through a dialogic and constructive communication approach, the program functions not only as a source of entertainment but also as a medium for community empowerment. This strategy contributes to shaping the image of RRI Bengkulu as an adaptive, educational, and community oriented public broadcasting institution.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of cultural identity contained in the Bishahri poem within the Sarafal Anam tradition of the Bengkulu Tengah community. Sarafal Anam is a religious oral tradition that developed as a result of the acculturation between Islamic teachings and local cultural practices. The tradition involves the recitation of prayers and poetic praises dedicated to Prophet Muhammad, which are commonly performed during social and religious ceremonies such as childbirth celebrations, family thanksgiving events, and Islamic religious commemorations. This research applies a qualitative approach using Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis, which focuses on three levels of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth. The research data were obtained through textual analysis of the Bishahri poem, interviews with traditional leaders, religious figures, and Sarafal Anam practitioners, as well as documentation of the tradition. The findings indicate that at the denotative level, the poem describes the birth of Prophet Muhammad through symbols such as light, the full moon, and noble attributes. At the connotative level, these symbols signify spiritual guidance, moral perfection, and hopes for blessings in human life. At the mythological level, these symbols construct a collective belief that Prophet Muhammad represents the ultimate source of spiritual and moral light for humanity. Furthermore, the Sarafal Anam tradition functions not only as a religious ritual but also as a medium for representing the cultural identity of the Bengkulu Tengah community, strengthening social solidarity and preserving local cultural values transmitted across generations.

Abstract

Excessive sugar consumption is a public health problem because it can increase the risk of non-communicable diseases, especially diabetes mellitus. In Bengkulu City, diabetes remains an important health issue, so health communication is needed not only to provide information but also to improve public health literacy and encourage healthier behavior. This study aims to formulate a community development communication model based on digital campaigns to improve health literacy about sugar consumption in Bengkulu City. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with content analysis of digital campaign materials published by the Bengkulu City Health Office, Bengkulu City Media Center, community health centers, and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. The results show that local digital campaigns mostly focus on health checks, screening, and healthy lifestyle messages. Meanwhile, national campaigns are stronger in explaining sugar consumption limits, diabetes risks, and education about sugar, salt, and fat. This study produces a communication model that integrates digital media, health messages, community health centers, Posbindu, health cadres, and community participation. This model places digital campaigns as a medium for awareness, education, empowerment, and behavior change in controlling sugar consumption.
