Abstract

Line Balancing is an assignment of a number of jobs into interconnected work stations in one line or assembly line with the aim of minimizing idle time on the hydraulic excavator assembly line, the assembly line specification has 27 work stations with 150 work elements. In the process of assembling the hydraulic excavator, there was an overtime that exceeded the takt time at work station 18 (BF 04), which resulted in the failure to achieve the production target of 5 units/day. One way to overcome this problem is to apply the line balancing method on the hydraulic excavator assembly line, the approach used is the Regional Approach, Ranked Positional Weight, and Largest Candidate Rules. Based on the analysis that has been done, it can be concluded that the Ranked Positional Weight approach has the best value with the number of work stations 18, line efficiency of 95.70%, balance delay of 4.30% and idle time of 66.84 minutes and also has good results. better than the initial conditions before the line balancing method was applied.

Abstract

In the current development of globalization, one of the industrial sectors that continues to grow every year is the cement industry because cement is the main material in the construction process. Research institutions state that cement contributes around 8% of the world's carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and the largest comes from industrial processes and product use (IPPU) so that the concept of environmentally friendly logistics can be implemented to reduce CO2 emissions. This study uses the Dynamic System method. The results of the study show that the use of alternative raw materials and alternative fuels can reduce CO2 emissions generated from the cement production process. This is evidenced by the results of the first scenario, namely Business as Usual, which is 334.90 KgCO2, then decreased by 38.2% or to 207.02 KgCO2 in the second scenario, namely the use of alternative raw materials, and in the third scenario, namely the use of alternative fuels, it also decreased by 68.9% or to 100.88 KgCO2.

Abstract

Tuna commodities play a crucial role as the second-largest fisheries export commodity, significantly contributing to Indonesia's foreign exchange. Indonesia holds substantial potential to dominate the international tuna market, with North Sulawesi emerging as the largest producer in 2021, reaching 56,205,302 kg. However, despite this, the export volume of North Sulawesi Province decreased by 6.6% in 2020-2021, indicating that the potential tuna supply has not been fully optimized. To maintain consistency and enhance the export supply chain performance of tuna products, transparency is required from upstream to downstream, involving planning, procurement, production, marketing, and distribution in the supply chain system. Efforts to improve the supply chain system involve evaluating performance through measurement. This research aims to measure the performance of the tuna commodity supply chain in North Sulawesi, applying the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) method and weighting each supply chain performance metric using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Measurement results indicate that the performance of the tuna commodity supply chain in an exporting company in Bitung City, North Sulawesi, reaches a value of 69.421, categorizing it as "Average." Performance indicators showing suboptimal values include Forecast Accuracy, Exported Product Sales, Defect Rate, Compliance with Standards, Procurement Costs, and Production Costs.

Abstract

Pier 009, one of the ship docks at Tanjung Priok Port for inter-island domestic containers within the territory of Indonesia. The pier length 0 – 404 meters and draft depth of 8 meters, only for ships that has maximum dock of 8 meters. With these characteristics, container ships do not arrive regularly a day. Last three years, the number of container ship visits has decreased. The number of available scouting/tugging service activities remains the same. Therefore, author in this research made a case study of ships related to optimizing the tug and pilot fleet at pier 009. The optimization method using a linear programming in Excel software to maximize/minimize the output results. It was found that the annual utility of tugboat service performance was around 2%. Conclusions for optimizing the tugboat fleet for pier 009: 4 tugboats are sufficient, namely 2 tugboats with a power of 1240 HP for container ships with an LOA of 70 – 150 meters and 2 other tugboats with a power of 3200 HP for container ships with an LOA 151 – 250 meters. This ship decision is based on Ministerial Regulation number 93 of 2014 for the LOA size provisions, number of ships and minimum tug capacity.
