Abstract

The school’s culture, encompassing norms and traditions, plays a pivotal role in shaping student behavior and fostering discipline. Integrating spiritual values into the school culture holds significant potential to enhance student discipline while simultaneously shaping their moral and ethical character. This study examines how a school culture rooted in spiritual values can contribute to improving student discipline, mitigating negative behaviors such as disobedience and bullying, and fostering a conducive learning environment. This research adopts the Library Research method, which involves the systematic collection and analysis of relevant literature, including books, journals, theses, and previous studies. Data were sourced from reputable academic databases such as Google Scholar, JSTOR, and ProQuest, with a focus on exploring the interplay between school culture, spiritual values, and student discipline. The key findings reveal that the consistent application of spiritual values in both academic and extracurricular activities positively influences student behavior, enhances their adherence to rules, and strengthens personal commitment to ethical principles. The study concludes that transforming school culture through the integration of spiritual values is an effective strategy for fostering student discipline and character development. Achieving this transformation requires the collective support of all stakeholders, including teachers, students, and parents, as well as ongoing evaluation to ensure its sustained success. The findings offer valuable insights for educational institutions seeking to design programs that embed spiritual values into their culture to nurture disciplined, responsible, and morally upright students.

Abstract

Abstract

This study explores the relationship between teachers’ professional development and teaching innovation in rural schools located in Ambon, Indonesia. The research aims to understand how structured training, peer collaboration, and reflective teaching practices influence the ability of rural educators to implement innovative strategies in their classrooms. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 12 teachers and 3 school principals from four rural schools in the region. Thematic analysis revealed that continuous professional development particularly in the areas of ICT integration, contextualized pedagogy, and curriculum adaptation has a significant impact on teachers’ creativity and willingness to innovate. The findings indicate that teachers who regularly engage in professional learning communities and receive consistent institutional support are more likely to experiment with student-centered learning models, problem-based learning, and culturally responsive teaching. This study highlights the importance of sustainable teacher development policies and tailored support systems to foster educational innovation in under-resourced areas.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of fiscal policy in reducing income inequality across five Southeast Asian countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Using a comparative approach, the research analyzes the trends in Gini coefficients alongside fiscal indicators such as tax-to-GDP ratios, social spending as a percentage of GDP, and the progressivity of transfer programs from 2010 to 2022. The findings indicate substantial variation in fiscal performance and redistributive outcomes. Vietnam and Thailand have demonstrated notable success in reducing inequality, supported by progressive tax systems and sustained investments in health and education. In contrast, Malaysia, despite relatively high social spending, showed limited redistribution due to a less progressive tax structure. Indonesia and the Philippines have implemented targeted transfer programs, yet structural weaknesses in tax collection and program implementation have limited their effectiveness. The analysis highlights that fiscal policy effectiveness depends not only on the amount of resources mobilized but also on how equitably and efficiently those resources are allocated. The study concludes that adequate fiscal capacity, political commitment, and institutional efficiency are essential to enhancing the redistributive impact of fiscal policy. The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers seeking to design inclusive and equitable fiscal strategies in emerging economies.

Abstract

: In the era of globalization, the interplay between religion, humanitarian values, and cultural diversity has become increasingly significant in shaping inclusive and equitable societies. Religion provides moral and ethical foundations that guide social norms, while humanitarian values emphasize empathy, dignity, and justice across cultural and social differences. Cultural diversity, meanwhile, enriches human interaction but also introduces challenges when differences lead to miscommunication or conflict. This study employs a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach to explore how ethical integration among these dimensions fosters social cohesion and inclusivity. Findings reveal that societies thriving on inclusivity promote interfaith dialogue, humanitarian education, and multicultural understanding through participatory governance. Moreover, aligning religious teachings with universal humanitarian values helps address social inequalities and cultural tensions. The study concludes that ethical integration across these domains serves as a strategic pathway for cultivating tolerant, just, and sustainable multicultural societies
