Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of social media Tiktok on the numeracy of class VII junior high school students. In this research, it consists of the independent variable, namely the use of social media Tiktok (X) and the dependent variable, namely student numeracy (Y). This research uses quantitative research methods with a cross-sectional survey design and the research instrument uses numeracy essay test questions and non-tests in the form of a questionnaire on the use of social media Tiktok. The population in this study were all class VII students of SMP PGRI 1 Cianjur for the 2023-2024 academic year, with samples taken using purposive sampling, namely 23 students or 46% of the total students. Data analysis techniques in this research are descriptive statistical tests, normality tests, linearity tests, homoscedasticity tests, anova tests and simple linear regression tests. Based on the results of quantitative data analysis using the JASP program version 0.16.3.0, it was concluded that there was an influence of social media Tiktok on the numeracy of class VII SMP students. The influence of using social media Tiktok on students' numeracy can have a positive effect if used well, for example for studying, and conversely it can have a negative effect if used for bad purposes.

Abstract

This study aims to provide knowledge and references to researchers as a basis that will be used in further research. The method used is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which identifies, classifies, and categorizes certain topics related to research on students' mathematical problem solving abilities in Indonesia. The data used are 33 articles that have SINTA 1 and SINTA 2 accredited criteria, such as in the journals AKSIOMA and KREANO, which were taken within the last 3 years, namely 2019 to 2021. The data are grouped into 6 discussions, namely a list of journal names, year published articles, methods used, research subjects, teaching materials used, and research results. In most articles, the most widely used research method in qualitative research methods, and the research subject is 8th grade of junior high school. It was also found that 10th grade of senior high school, 11th grade of senior high school, and 10th grade of vocational high school were also research subjects. While the material in the research is mostly found about constructing flat side spaces.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between learning motivation and mathematical communication skills in vocational high school students. The background of this study is the importance of mathematical communication in mathematics learning, as well as the low learning motivation of vocational high school students that impacts these abilities. The research method used is quantitative with a correlational approach. The population in this study were grade X students at SMK Negeri 1 Cipanas, with a sample of 26 students from grade X MPLB 3 selected using a purposive sampling technique. The instruments used included a learning motivation questionnaire and a mathematical communication ability essay test. The results showed that there was no positive and significant relationship between learning motivation and mathematical communication skills in vocational high school students. Based on these results, it can be interpreted that high learning motivation does not necessarily align with high mathematical communication skills. This means that even though students have a high learning drive, it does not automatically make them able to communicate mathematical ideas well. This finding implies that increasing learning motivation alone is not enough to improve students' mathematical communication skills. Mathematics learning needs to be designed not only to motivate students but also to specifically train mathematical communication skills such as explaining ideas, using symbols appropriately, and interpreting real-world situations into mathematical models.

Abstract

The ability of mathematical creative thinking is essential for students to possess, but in reality, the level of mathematical creativity in Indonesia remains comparatively low. This study aims to find out if learning with PACE-GeoGebra helps improve students' mathematical creative thinking abilities and to understand how self-regulated learning relates to the improvement of these abilities through PACE-GeoGebra. Quasi-experimental research methodology is employed. The study uses a non-equivalent comparison group design. All of the 10th graders enrolled in one of Cianjur's high schools for the 2024–2025 school year make up the study's population. Two classes—classes X-E and X-F—were chosen as samples from the population using a purposive sampling technique. While the control group employed the standard learning model, the experimental group employed the PACE-GeoGebra learning model. Tests and questionnaires with information on quadratic functions were the tools utilized. Using the two-sample mean equality test, data analysis was done on the average gain index between the two sample classes. The research results show that (1) there is a significant difference in the improvement of mathematical creative thinking abilities between students who use the PACE-GeoGebra approach and students who use conventional learning. (2) There is a correlation between student self-regulated learning and the improvement of mathematical creative thinking skills through PACE-GeoGebra learning.

Abstract

This research endeavors to scrutinize the mathematical creative thinking proficiencies of students and to ascertain the extent to which social media engagement impacts these abilities. The methodological framework employed herein is quantitative, adopting a descriptive research design, with data collection facilitated via survey instruments. The cohort for this investigation comprised 33 students enrolled in class X APHP at SMK Negeri 1 Pacet. To measure mathematical creative thinking skills, a test instrument was used, while social media usage was measured using a non-test instrument, namely a questionnaire. The collected data was then analysed using statistical tests with a quantitative approach, namely regression and quantitative descriptive tests. The empirical findings reveal that the aggregate mathematical creative thinking capacity among the students at SMK Negeri 1 Pacet registers at 73.5%, positioning it within a high classification. Nevertheless, a more granular examination indicates a positive correlation between social media utilization and mathematical creative thinking acumen; however, this association is characterized by diminutive strength and lacks statistical significance. Consequently, these results suggest that social media does not exert a substantial influence on the enhancement of mathematical creative thinking skills among the student population at SMK Negeri 1 Pacet.
