Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku cerita digital berbasis budaya lokal yang dapat digunakan sebagai alat pendidikan dan pelestarian budaya. Proyek ini dilakukan dengan melibatkan Guru Taman Kanak-Kanak (TK) dalam proses pengumpulan cerita dan pengembangan konten digital. Metode yang digunakan meliputi wawancara, wokshop dan kolaborasi kreatif untuk memastikan bahwa cerita yang dikumpulkan menggambarkan dengan akurat tradisi dan nilai-nilai budaya setempat. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah sebuah buku cerita digital yang tidak hanya menarik dan edukatif bagi anak-anak, tetapi juga dapat diakses secara luas melalui platform digital. Dengan demikian diharapkan buku ini dapat menjadi sumber belajar yang efektif sekaligus media untuk melestarikan dan memperkenalkan budaya lokal kepada generasi muda. Abstract

This research is an experimental study to analyze the improvement of fine motor skills in early childhood. The subjects of this study were children aged 5-6 years, the question used was observation. The data collection methods include: the steps to implement educational games from used materials, tests before the treatment of educational games made from used materials, and after the treatment of making educational games. The data analysis technique used was to determine the differences in the value of each aspect of the pre-test and post-test on the dependent variable (fine motor skills) using the T test. From the results of the t test to determine the effect of educational tools made from used materials on the fine motor development of children aged 5-6 years at TK Permata Ibu Surabaya, there is a difference between the pre and post-test scores. So, there is the influence of the use of educational games from used materials on fine motor skills development in children aged 5-6. The test results show that t count of 20,123 is greater than t-table 2,064 with a significance level of 95%.

Abstract

Self-concept is one component that describes itself due to the experience of interaction with the environment. The purpose of this study was to identify the level of self-concept of Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya students. In addition, this research is used as an empirical study in developing personal-social guidance programs for UNIPA students. This study uses a quantitative approach with survey methods. The results of this study illustrate that the level of self-concept of Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya students is in the positive category with a percentage of 93.18%. The data can be used as a reference in the development of curative social-personal guidance programs for students at the Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya (UNIPA). Based on the results of the research obtained, where the self-concept of students has a low category on personal self, physical self, moral ethical self, and self identity can be a reference for the preparation of hypothetical counseling and guidance service programs.

Abstract

Students who have good career planning are usually characterized by characteristics such as having (1) understanding of the world of work, (2) special interests and talents in a particular world of work, (3) personality and values ​​related to careers. Career guidance services are guidance given to students and focused on providing assistance, especially in planning, developing, solving various career-related problems, and providing an understanding of the work in a position. Based on the implementation of community service activities, a result is obtained that this career guidance and counseling service activity can improve the ability to carry out career planning properly according to the talents and interests of students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the project-based learning (PBL) model in improving critical-reflective thinking skills in students. The PBL model was applied to two groups of students: an experimental group that followed project-based learning and a control group that followed conventional learning. This study used an experimental design with a pre-test and post-test to measure changes in critical-reflective thinking skills. Data were also collected through observation sheets and students' reflective journals. The results showed that the experimental group that applied the PBL model experienced a significant increase in critical-reflective thinking skills, with a significant difference in pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, the control group that followed conventional learning did not show a significant change. Analysis of the reflective journal showed that students in the experimental group were able to identify strengths and weaknesses in their thinking process, as well as evaluate the solutions they chose in the project. Based on these results, it can be concluded that project-based learning is effective in improving students' critical-reflective thinking skills, as well as encouraging active involvement and collaboration. This study recommends the use of the PBL model as an alternative to improving critical-reflective thinking skills in higher education.

Abstract

Komunikasi yang efektif antara orang tua dan anak merupakan salah satu kunci penting dalam membentuk nilai dan karakter yang baik, termasuk kejujuran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji strategi membangun komunikasi yang asyik dan bermakna dengan anak dalam upaya menanamkan nilai kejujuran. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi literatur dan wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi yang asyik dapat tercapai melalui pendekatan yang penuh empati, mendengarkan aktif, serta penggunaan bahasa yang sesuai dengan usia anak. Selain itu, contoh nyata dari perilaku jujur yang ditunjukkan oleh orang tua menjadi faktor penting dalam pembentukan karakter anak. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya suasana komunikasi yang hangat dan mendukung agar anak merasa nyaman untuk mengekspresikan diri tanpa rasa takut. Dengan demikian, membangun komunikasi yang asyik tidak hanya mempererat hubungan antara orang tua dan anak, tetapi juga menjadi langkah strategis dalam membentuk generasi yang jujur dan berintegritas.

Abstract

The phenomenon of the quarter-life crisis frequently occurs among individuals aged 20 to 30 years, a period known as emerging adulthood. This prolonged crisis phase is primarily attributed to low levels of well-being, which are influenced by self-compassion—a factor with both preventive and promotive potential. This study aims to examine how self-compassion affects the psychological well-being of emerging adults experiencing a quarter-life crisis in Surabaya. Employing a quantitative research approach, the study utilizes a closed-ended questionnaire for data collection. The findings confirm that self-compassion has a positive impact on psychological well-being and serves as a protective factor in coping with the quarter-life crisis. By recognizing difficulties as a natural part of life, students with higher self-compassion are better able to accept themselves, regulate their emotions effectively, and develop more stable psychological well-being.

Abstract

Aptitude test and career interest is one of the efforts carried out in the form of a series of tests and analysis in describing the cognitive abilities, character, talents, interests and personality of an individual in order to determine a particular major. This interest aptitude test is very helpful and has a significant influence on the success of an individual in determining and planning a future career. The problem faced by students today is the difficulty in directing their talents and career interests according to their abilities. Efforts to overcome the problems faced by individuals must be carried out effectively. The activity carried out is to carry out tests of student aptitude and career interest. This aptitude and career interest test was conducted on class XII students of Integrated Bilingual Middle School, Krian District, Sidoarjo Regency. The method of carrying out the activity of providing aptitude and career interest test services is carried out with the following stages, namely administration, analysis of the number of students taking the aptitude test and student career interest, administering the test, directing the results of the aptitude test and student career interest, as well as evaluating the implementation of the aptitude and interest test student career. Providing student aptitude and career interest test services can assist students in planning further studies at the next level of education according to their talents and interests.

Abstract

The preschool years represent a critical stage in children's cognitive, socio-emotional, linguistic, and psychomotor development, with creativity and giftedness as essential components of early education. However, the current education system lacks comprehensive strategies to effectively integrate language development as a foundational approach to nurturing creativity and talent. This study investigates the relationship between language development and the cultivation of creativity in preschool children through a qualitative methodology incorporating teacher interviews and classroom observations. Thematic analysis was employed to identify patterns in pedagogical practices that promote creativity through linguistic expression. The findings reveal that parental involvement and interactive learning methods foster children's creativity and gifted potential. The novelty of this study lies in its emphasis on linguistic expressions as indicators of cognitive and creative growth, addressing a gap in previous research that has largely overlooked the specific role of language in the development of giftedness during early childhood. These insights offer valuable contributions for educators in designing more effective strategies to enhance preschoolers’ creativity through language development.

Abstract

Prospective entrepreneurs are an important part of developing business independence for students. Student business product innovation is a major force in shaping the ability to develop an interest in entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship has an important role in improving the economy. Therefore the entrepreneurship education provided in the course aims to foster student entrepreneurial intentions. This study aims to analyze student business independence by utilizing information technology, product innovation and entrepreneurial interest at PGRI Adi Buana University The number of samples in this study were 340 students. Methods of data collection using the questionnaire method. The data collected was analyzed by structural equation modeling using the AMOS 23 application.
