Abstract

Library, as a place holding pivotal roles to support instructions at schools, should be led by a competent and qualified leader. The present research is purposefully conducted to assess the training program intended for school library leader candidates. Qualitative method was employed by the implementation of CIPP (Context, Input, Process and Product) model. The data were collected through observations, interviews and document analysis. Snowball sampling technique was utilized to choose the research participants. The participants involved in this research were the head of assurance council, the head of training program, and the training partners. The present research indicates the following findings. Generally, the training is regarded as successfully implemented. To be more specific, 1) context evaluation assesses legal standing, objectives, and target of the training; 2) input evaluation assesses resource of the training; 3) process evaluation assesses trainee recruitment, teaching and learning process, and monitoring-evaluation of the training; and 4) product evaluation assesses cognitive, affective and skill domain of the trainees. The present research implies program segmentation for each level of education due to different problems encountered in reality. Training resource aspect also needs special attention.

Abstract

The low results of student geometry learning require a trial of the think-pair-share method as a replacement for conventional methods. This research aims to: (1) compare the level of effectiveness of applying the think-pair-share method with conventional learning in improving student geometry learning outcomes, and; (2) determine whether or not there is a significant effect from using the two methods. The method used is quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design involving an experimental group and a control group. Each group consisted of 23 class VII students selected non-randomly from the population. Data was taken using a geometry learning outcomes test instrument. Data were analyzed using the N-Gain Score test, the results of the calculations were converted into interpretation categories for N-Gain effectiveness to be concluded. Research findings: (1) the application of both methods was "ineffective", as shown by the calculation results of the average N-Gain score (%) for the experimental group of 38.112% and the control group of 30.636%, and; (2) based on the results of the hypothesis test, it was concluded that there was no significant influence from the application of the two methods on improving student geometry learning outcomes. The implication of this finding is that it is not recommended to apply the think-pair-share method if it is only focused on improving the geometry learning outcomes of class VII students, but it can still be applied for the purpose of developing students' collaboration skills

Abstract

This study aims to explore effective classroom management and student behavior management strategies in the digital era. Using a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis, data was collected from 16 selected articles from Google Scholar (2012-2024). The findings indicate that establishing clear rules, utilizing technology, involving parents, and developing social skills are key strategies in creating a positive learning environment. By leveraging digital applications and platforms, teachers can enhance student engagement and reduce negative behavior. The implications of this research emphasize the need for teacher training and collaboration with parents to support behavior management. This study is expected to contribute to the development of better educational practices in the digital era and open opportunities for further research on student behavior management in broader contexts.

Abstract

Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in mathematics learning on students' reflective thinking skills and self-regulated learning. The researchers employed the quantitative-qualitative method. The quantitative data was obtained through pretest and posttest, and qualitative data were obtained through interviews with three students selected using a purposive random sampling technique. The research subjects were selected using the accidental sampling technique because it was still in the new normal era of the COVID-19 pandemic. The subjects consisted of 33 eighth-grade students. The data was collected using test instruments and questionnaires. Furthermore, the data was tested using the independent sample t-test. This research found three results. First, there was a significant increase in reflective and self-regulated thinking skills through the application of the PBL model. Second, based on the t-test, there was a reflective thinking skills difference between pretest and posttest, with a higher score was found in the posttest. Third, there was no self-regulated learning difference between the pretest and posttest.
