Abstract

This study aims to determine the digital transformation strategies of MSMEs to increase competitiveness: A Case Study of Indonesia. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design to explore the digital transformation strategies of MSMEs in Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Then, they were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the digital transformation strategy involves three main aspects: marketing, operations, and human resource development. MSMEs utilize social media and marketplaces to expand their markets and increase sales. The application of technology to operational aspects, such as digital recording and stock management, helps improve business efficiency and accuracy, while human resource development through training accelerates the digital adaptation process. However, this transformation still faces challenges such as limited infrastructure, low digital literacy, limited human resources and finances, and data security. Therefore, support from the government, the private sector, and the community is needed to create an inclusive digital ecosystem.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO), Innovation, and Market Orientation (MO) on the business performance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia. Using a sample of 200 SMEs, the study employs Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to analyze the relationships between these strategic orientations and business performance. The results indicate that EO, Innovation, and MO all have significant positive effects on business performance. EO enhances SME performance by fostering risk-taking, proactiveness, and innovativeness, while Innovation drives growth through product, process, and organizational innovations. MO, which emphasizes customer and competitor insights, further contributes to improved business performance. The study highlights the importance of integrating these orientations to enhance competitiveness and achieve sustainable growth. These findings offer valuable insights for SME managers and policymakers aiming to improve business outcomes in Indonesia.

Abstract

Micro small and medium enterprises need to overcome difficulties which diminish their financial success through digital economy benefits which create new business opportunities. The researchers of this study investigate how digital supply chain agility and digital cultural transformation together with continuous innovation impact digital revenue resilience which exists within the MSME sector. The researchers of this study implement their research through a quantitative method which uses an explanatory framework. The research data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to 160 MSME respondents who have adopted digital technology in their business activities using a purposive sampling technique. The researchers used multiple linear regression analysis to examine data after they conducted validity testing and reliability testing together with classical assumption testing. The study shows that digital supply chain agility and digital cultural transformation together with continuous innovation create positive effects which help organizations achieve digital revenue resilience. Digital supply chain agility enhances operational flexibility and product distribution systems because organizations use digital cultural transformation to adopt digital technologies. Continuous innovation enables organizations to develop products and services which better satisfy changing market needs thus improving their business competitiveness. The study results provide business practitioners with guidance which helps them develop digital business strategies that sustain their organizations through changing times.
