Abstract

This study investigates the role of peer assessment in identifying employee affective commitment within Bandung City government agencies. Affective commitment, encompassing emotional attachment, identification, and involvement, is influenced by work experience, personal values, and social support. Grounded in Social Network Theory, which highlights the significance of social interactions in workplace networks, this research employs a quantitative descriptive approach. Data was collected via questionnaires from employees with at least one year of service, assessing three commitment dimensions through peer evaluations to ensure objectivity. Findings reveal a high level of affective commitment, with emotional engagement as the primary contributor and participation the lowest. Positive peer perceptions significantly enhance employees’ sense of belonging and loyalty, validating peer assessment as an effective alternative indicator of affective commitment. These results align with Organizational Support and Social Network Theories, emphasizing the role of social relationships in fostering emotional bonds. The study offers practical insights for developing socially driven internal evaluation systems to boost employee loyalty and performance. Despite its contributions, limitations include potential peer assessment biases and context-specific findings, suggesting future research to explore causal relationships and broader applications.

Abstract

This study explores the critical role of adaptive strategies in maintaining the growth and competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in dynamic market environments. MSMEs significantly contribute to employment creation, innovation, and overall economic development but face unique challenges such as limited resources, market access, and vulnerability to market changes. Adaptive strategies like product diversification, digital transformation, and strategic partnerships have been found effective in enhancing MSME performance. Product diversification allows MSMEs to enter new market segments and reduce dependence on a single product line, while digital transformation improves operational efficiency and market reach. Strategic partnerships provide access to previously unavailable resources like technology and distribution networks. However, the implementation of these strategies is often hampered by financial constraints, lack of technological knowledge, and resistance to change. The study also highlights the importance of continuous learning and innovation for MSMEs to stay competitive. Continuous learning updates the knowledge and skills of MSMEs in line with industry developments, while innovation enables the development of new products or services that meet changing market needs. Case studies presented in the research demonstrate successful adoption of adaptive strategies by MSMEs to address challenges and leverage market opportunities. The findings offer practical insights for MSME owners, policymakers, and academics on the importance of adaptive strategies in navigating market uncertainties and achieving sustainable growth. The study also provides recommendations for supporting MSMEs in adopting adaptive strategies through initiatives such as training programs, digital transformation funding, and strategic partnership schemes.

Abstract

Modernization and globalization often shift the values of local wisdom that has been built, which should be able to develop family members, especially the potential of children. Children are inseparable from their parents' parenting, but currently the role of parents has shifted to fulfilling needs without paying attention to children, due to the economy in difficult conditions. So, there are problems with parenting and the economy. This condition is increasingly complex in West Java Province, which statistically faces a number of significant social challenges, including high levels of female labor force participation, high divorce rates, and high unemployment rates, especially among women and young people. The need for education for parents in managing the family, parents who join the involvement in family community programs are more objective and able to manage in a more planned parenting style. In addition, the role of non-formal education such as tutoring institutions has the opportunity to collaborate with the family community more advanced in managing the growth and development of children's potential and can form a market from the community with creative economy partnerships. Tutoring today not only manages the learning needs of children, but can also develop with the involvement of parents to learn together with programs that adapt to change. The synergy between children and parents is expected to be managed properly from the programs that should be developed. Local Wisdom of Creative Economy Assisted by E-Crowdsourced can increase family involvement in family communities in West Java Province in Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose: Digital transformation in higher education demands improved performance from educational staff who are adaptable and professional. However, there remains a gap between the demands of digitalisation and the readiness of human resources, particularly in terms of competencies, leadership, and digital literacy. This study aims to analyse the influence of effective leadership, competency development, and digital literacy on the performance of educational staff, both directly and indirectly through job satisfaction, as well as to test the moderating role of digital literacy. Research Design and Methodology: This study employs a quantitative approach using explanatory research methodology. The study population consists of educational staff at private higher education institutions in West Java Province, with a sample size of 100 respondents selected via purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire with a Likert scale, and data analysis utilised Structural Equation Modelling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The research was conducted between January and March 2025. Findings and Discussion: The results indicate that competency development, effective leadership, and digital literacy play a role in enhancing job satisfaction and the performance of educational staff. Job satisfaction was found to be a key mediating factor in the relationship between organisational variables and performance, whilst digital literacy acts as a moderating factor in this relationship. These findings indicate that improved performance is determined not only by technical factors but also by psychological aspects and the ability to adapt to technology. Implications: The implications of this research emphasise the importance of digital-based competency development strategies, adaptive leadership, and the strengthening of digital literacy to enhance the performance of educational staff in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The issue of Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among academics, especially lecturers, plays a vital role in assessing the quality and performance of higher education institutions. This study explores how Islamic work ethics, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment contribute to the development of OCB among lecturers. A total of 365 lecturers from 14 private universities were selected using proportional random sampling. The research applied Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the AMOS software to analyze the data. The results demonstrate that Islamic work ethics have a significant and positive effect on both OCB and organizational commitment. However, the influence of Islamic work ethics on job satisfaction, while positive, is statistically insignificant. Moreover, job satisfaction is found to have a strong and significant impact on OCB, but its relationship with organizational commitment remains insignificant. These findings reveal a nuanced interaction between ethical values, personal satisfaction, and voluntary behavior within the academic work environment. Given these insights, the study highlights the importance of fostering Islamic work ethics and job satisfaction to improve OCB among lecturers. Strengthening these elements may not only elevate individual performance but also enhance organizational commitment over time. As a practical implication, private university management should prioritize ethical development programs and support systems that improve job satisfaction. Such initiatives are expected to contribute to a more engaged, committed, and ethically grounded academic workforce, ultimately advancing institutional quality and effectiveness.
