Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the effect of the pair check cooperative learning model on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN 106162 Medan Estate in the subject of IPAS (Science and Technology) with the material of buying and selling activities as one of the fulfillment of needs. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research population consisted of 72 students, namely all fourth-grade students at SDN 106162 Medan Estate, which consisted of two classes, namely class IV A with 34 students and class IV B with 38 students. Class IV A was the control class that was given treatment using the conventional learning model, and class IV B was the experimental class that was given treatment using the pair check cooperative learning model. The instrument used was a cognitive test in the form of 25 multiple-choice questions. Based on the results of processing the data from the independent sample t-test using SPSS 31, the results of this study showed that the learning outcomes of students using the pair check cooperative learning model were higher than those of students using the conventional learning model. The independent sample t-test showed a two-sided p < 0.05, namely 0.001 < 0.05, meaning that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the pair check cooperative learning model can significantly affect student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN 067776 Medan Johor, caused by the conventional, teacher-centered learning process. This study aimed to determine the effect of implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by animated videos on the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN 067776 Medan Johor. This study used a quantitative research method with a Quasi-Experimental research design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of two groups: 20 fourth-grade students as the control class and 20 fourth-grade students as the experimental class. Data collection techniques used were multiple-choice tests and documentation. The data analysis techniques used were normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing, processed using SPSS 31. The results showed a significant difference in the average post-test scores between the experimental and control classes. Based on the statistical test, a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 was obtained, thus H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. It can be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by animated videos has an effect on the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN 067776 Medan Johor.

Abstract

Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) plays a crucial role in shaping a healthy and skilled generation. At SDS Pesantren YPMA, many fifth-grade students experience difficulties in mastering the basic techniques of baseball, indicating the presence of inhibiting factors that require further analysis. This study aims to analyze the factors that contribute to students' difficulties in mastering the basic techniques of baseball in the PJOK subject in fifth-grade students at SDS Pesantren YPMA. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results show that internal factors such as lack of self-confidence (70%), fear of the ball (60%), and external factors such as limited facilities (75%) and limited practice time (65%) significantly influence mastery of basic techniques. Overall, internal factors contribute 60% to the difficulties experienced by students, while external factors contribute 65%. In addition, low student motivation (50%) and lack of variation in teaching methods (55%) also exacerbate the situation. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the difficulties faced by fifth-grade students of SDS Pesantren YPMA in mastering the basic techniques of baseball are influenced by various internal and external factors. Therefore, to improve mastery of the basic techniques of baseball, it is recommended to provide a more innovative and interesting learning approach, increase student motivation, and provide more adequate facilities so that students can practice optimally and achieve better results in PJOK learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive video learning media assisted by Canva using the ADDIE model on the topic of Living Things Reproduction for sixth-grade students at SDN 069 Siharjulu. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The study involved 25 sixth-grade students as the research subjects. Data were collected through expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests (pre-test and post-test). The results showed that: (1) the validity of the media reached 93% (Very Feasible) from the media expert and 90% (Very Feasible) from the content expert; (2) the practicality was rated 95% (Very Practical) by the teacher and 94% (Very Practical) by students; and (3) the effectiveness was demonstrated by an increase in the average learning outcome from 55.7 (pre-test) to 69.4 (post-test), with N-Gain score in the Very Effective category. These findings conclude that interactive video learning media assisted by Canva is valid, practical, and effective for use in science learning on the topic of Living Things Reproduction in sixth grade.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model assisted by Augmented Reality (AR) media on students’ science and social science (IPAS) learning outcomes. The study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of fifth-grade students and the limited use of innovative learning models and media. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population consisted of all fifth-grade students at MIS Nurul Hadina Patumbak in the 2025/2026 academic year, while the sample comprised 32 students divided into an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and independent sample t-tests. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The independent sample t-test produced a significance value of 0.012, which was less than 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. Students taught using the CTL model assisted by AR media achieved higher learning outcomes than those taught through conventional learning. Therefore, it can be concluded that the CTL model assisted by Augmented Reality media has a significant positive effect on IPAS learning outcomes among fifth-grade students at MIS Nurul Hadina Patumbak.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effect of the read, answer, discuss, explain, and create learning model on the scientific literacy skills of students at SDN 101764 Bandar Klippa. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group design. The research sample consisted of 50 students consisting of 25 students in the experimental class and 25 students in the control class. The data collection technique used a scientific literacy pretest and posttest sheet that had been validated by experts and tested for validity, reliability, discrimination power, and level of difficulty using SPSS 27. The analysis was carried out through the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's Test homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample t-Test. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the RADEC learning model on the scientific literacy skills of fifth-grade students. This was evidenced by the results of the Independent Sample t-Test which obtained a tcount > ttable, namely 2.508 > 2.010 with a significance value of 0.016 (p <0.05), so that the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Descriptively, the average posttest score for the experimental class was 79.2, higher than the control class's score of 70.8. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the RADEC learning model significantly improved the scientific literacy skills of fifth-grade students at SDN 101764 Bandar Klippa.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the scientific literacy skills of fifth-grade students of SDN 064037 Medan Tembung on the material of changes in the state of matter. The research method used is a quasi-experimental with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of 50 students consisting of 28 students in the experimental class and 22 students in the control class. Data collection on scientific literacy skills was carried out through a test instrument that focused on indicators explaining phenomena scientifically. Data analysis techniques used the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's Test homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample t-Test with the help of the SPSS version 27 program. The results of the data analysis showed a significant effect of the application of the Problem Based Learning model on students' scientific literacy skills. This was evidenced by the results of the posttest data t-test which obtained a significance value of 0.03 for the experimental class with an average of 79.10, higher than the control class with a significance value of 0.04 and an average of 71.81. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the PBL learning model has a significant effect on improving the scientific literacy skills of fifth grade students at SDN 064037 Medan Tembung.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PJBL) model assisted by an interactive e-book on the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 105289 Kolam in the topic of renewable energy sources. The study employed a quantitative approach using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The participants consisted of 30 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through a critical thinking skills test and classroom observation. The test was used to measure students’ critical thinking skills before and after the treatment, while observation was conducted to examine the implementation of the PJBL model assisted by an interactive e-book.The results showed that the mean pretest score of 50.67 increased to 88.67 in the posttest. The hypothesis testing using the Paired Sample t-Test revealed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of less than 0.001, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. These findings demonstrate that the PJBL model assisted by an interactive e-book has a significant effect on students’ critical thinking skills. Observation results also indicated that students became more active in discussions, collaboration, problem-solving, and drawing conclusions during project activities. Therefore, the PJBL model assisted by an interactive e-book is effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills in science learning, particularly on the topic of renewable energy sources.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Science, Technology, and Society approach on fourth-grade students’ science process skills in the topic of Natural Resources at SDN 173110 Hutaraja. The study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 26 students selected through saturated sampling. The research instrument was an essay-based science process skills test that had been validated and tested for reliability. Data were analyzed using normality testing and the Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed that the average science process skills score increased from 48.38 in the pretest to 81.42 in the posttest. The Paired Sample t-Test yielded a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the Science, Technology, and Society approach had a significant effect on students’ science process skills. Therefore, the Science, Technology, and Society approach has a positive and significant effect on students’ science process skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on the creative thinking skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 101776 Sampali in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental research design, specifically the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of 60 students, including 30 students from Class IV A as the experimental group and 30 students from Class IV B as the control group. Data were collected using an essay test designed to measure students' creative thinking skills. Data analysis was conducted through normality testing, homogeneity testing, and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample t-Test. The results showed that the data were normally distributed based on the Shapiro-Wilk test, with posttest significance values of 0.503 for the experimental group and 0.204 for the control group (> 0.05). The homogeneity test indicated a significance value of 0.138 (> 0.05), demonstrating that the variances of the two groups were homogeneous. Furthermore, the hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample t-Test yielded a significance value (2-tailed) of < 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that Ha was accepted and H₀ was rejected. Therefore, the findings of this study revealed that the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model was more effective than the Cooperative Learning model in improving students' creative thinking skills.
