Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at Malangke State Junior High School in fostering students' morals, the efforts made, the obstacles faced, and solutions to improve the effectiveness of learning. This study is a qualitative study. In collecting data through in-depth interviews conducted by question and answer while face to face with informants, namely 1 principal, 5 teachers, 10 students, 3 parents and 3 alumni. The results of the study indicate that the role of PAI teachers at Malangke State Junior High School focuses on strengthening religious education through providing information and resources related to morals, as well as assignments that train students' responsibility. Efforts to foster morals carried out by PAI teachers include cultivating religious culture, such as shaking hands when going home from school, greeting teachers, and guiding vehicles when entering the school gate. In addition, teachers make it a habit to give alms every Friday to foster an attitude of generosity, caring, and sincerity. The obstacles faced include limited provision of learning materials that do not cover all students and less supportive learning situations. The solutions implemented by Islamic Religious Education teachers to improve learning effectiveness include addressing these obstacles, for example, by providing material notes to students who do not yet have textbooks or worksheets.

Abstract

Leadership based on Islamic spiritual values has been proven to make a real contribution to strengthening the religiosity of the school community. This is reflected in the application of the principles of integrity and trust, as well as transformational values that encourage idealistic influence, inspiring motivation, more critical thinking, and attention to individual needs. Leadership transformation in Islamic educational institutions is a strategic issue amidst the currents of managerial modernization and the degradation of spiritual values. This study aims to identify the form and direction of Islamic educational leadership transformation that harmonizes spiritual values with managerial effectiveness. The research approach uses a library method with qualitative descriptive analysis, sourced from scientific literature such as books, journal articles, and relevant research findings. The study's results indicate that effective leadership transformation does not solely emphasize technocratic dimensions, but must be grounded in the spirituality of monotheism that fosters integrity, sincerity, and moral responsibility. The synergy between spiritual values and managerial skills produces a transformative, humanistic, and meaningful leadership model, thereby strengthening institutional performance and building an ethical and value-oriented organizational culture.

Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive analysis of the evolution of digital leadership in education, tracing its development from the initial concept of e-leadership to Leadership 4.0 amid the era of digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI). "A selection of relevant scientific publications from the period of 2010–2025 was systematically analyzed using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach were thematically analyzed to identify conceptual shifts, theoretical trends, practices, and implementation barriers. The findings reveal a paradigm transition from a technology-focused leadership to a strategic role emphasizing agility, data-driven innovation, and ethics. Modern digital leaders are no longer just technology managers but ecosystem orchestrators tasked with balancing technology, pedagogy, and equity to address infrastructural, capacity, and cultural challenges. Although theoretical frameworks like transformational and distributed leadership are widely used, longitudinal and comparative research remains limited. This review positions digital leadership as an adaptive, ethical, and systemic practice, proposing a future research agenda focused on theory integration, cultural diversification, human-centered ethics, and policy translation to build equitable and intelligent educational systems

Abstract

In many communities, the public plays a role in providing input on school environmental safety, local culture that must be respected, and financial or non-financial support through collaboration between the community and schools. This study reviews the latest literature (2015–2025) on the influence of stakeholder participation on the quality of school policy decisions, with a particular focus on the involvement of teachers, students, and the community. Through a systematic literature review, this article synthesises empirical findings and conceptual studies on participation mechanisms, supporting/inhibiting factors, and impacts on decision quality (sustainability, relevance, legitimacy, and implementability). The results show that meaningful participation—not just a formality—increases the legitimacy and relevance of policies and the probability of successful implementation. However, the effectiveness of participation depends on the capacity of actors, school governance structures, access to information, and a collaborative culture. This article concludes with recommendations for practice and directions for further research.

Abstract

Digital transformation has changed the landscape of educational organisations—replacing many face-to-face interactions with hybrid and virtual interactions and requiring education leaders to adapt their leadership styles. This article reviews the 2015–2025 literature on two leadership styles relevant to the digital age: supportive leadership and authentic leadership, and how these two styles help build trust and team support in the digital education environment. The research method was a systematic literature review of relevant journals, scientific articles, policy reports, and literature reviews. The synthesis results show: (1) effective digital leadership requires a combination of personal support and openness/authenticity to maintain trust; (2) concrete practices include structured communication, technology support policies, collaborative learning, and decision transparency; (3) the main obstacles are uneven digital literacy, cultural resistance, and infrastructure limitations. Recommendations are provided for school leaders and educational institutions to implement interventions focused on strengthening interpersonal relationships, establishing clear virtual work rules, and improving staff digital capabilities.

Abstract

This study is a literature review that examines the effectiveness of school principals' decision-making when applying the incremental model to improve the quality of education at the junior high school level. The incremental model—rooted in the tradition of public policy theory (Lindblom)—suggests gradual change and small improvements (‘muddling through’) as a managerial strategy when information is limited and uncertainty is high. This article summarises empirical evidence and theoretical studies (2015–2025) on: (1) the characteristics of school principals' decision-making; (2) the advantages and limitations of applying an incremental approach in schools; (3) the relationship between decision-making styles and education quality indicators (learning outcomes, school climate, resource management); and (4) policy and practice implications for principal capacity development. The results of the study show that the incremental approach is often effective in the context of complex and risky school operations if major changes are implemented without support; however, its effectiveness depends on the capabilities of the headteacher (managerial and leadership competencies), stakeholder participation, and clear monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.

Abstract

A Decision Support System (DSS) is a computer-based system that supports decision-making by integrating data, information, and analytical models. The implementation of DSS is increasing in educational institutions due to the complexity of educational management, which demands precision, speed, and accuracy in decision-making. This study uses a literature review method by comprehensively analysing a number of scientific articles, books, research reports, and international publications from the last 10 years. The main focus of the study is to analyse the application of DSS in educational institutions, its benefits in supporting strategic decisions, implementation challenges, and its implications for educational governance. The results show that DSS can improve managerial efficiency, the quality of educational services, academic data management, budget planning, scheduling, and support data-based policies. However, technical challenges such as a lack of user competence, minimal digital infrastructure, and data integration are major obstacles to DSS implementation. This study concludes that the successful implementation of DSS requires technological readiness, human resource competency, policy support, and strong data governance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the external environment of education from global, national, and local perspectives. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review by analyzing books, journal articles, and previous studies related to the external environment of education. The focus of the study is the external educational environment viewed from the dimensions of globalization, national context, and local culture. The findings indicate that the external environment of education comprising global, national, and local aspects simultaneously influences the direction and quality of educational implementation. At the global level, the flow of globalization, technological advancement, and international competency competition require educational systems to adapt and innovate. At the national level, education is shaped by government policies, national cultural values, and developmental needs aimed at improving the quality of human resources. Meanwhile, at the local level, community characteristics, regional culture, and local wisdom serve as important factors in creating relevant and contextual learning. The results show that synergy among these three external environments is essential to develop an adaptive, character-driven educational system capable of responding to contemporary challenges.
