Abstract

This case study investigates the influence of motivation and language learning environment on successful English as a foreign language (EFL) learning. The research examines: (1) the nature of the motivation of successful EFL learners; and (2) how language learning environment affects theirsucess.The data were obtained from six EFL learners identified as successful learners based on their high-level English language proficiency and in their overall success of the language use. EFL motivation is conceptualized and illustrated as a dynamically changing construct that plays important roles in the EFL learning process. The design of the study involves both holistic and focused analysis. Each participant’s learning history is created through individual interviews. The research traces each participant’s learning history, including motivational changes and salient motivational sources, such as their learning environments. The results showed that sustained motivation is not always present in successful EFL learning.Thesix learners’ successesresult from their ability to sustain their learning commitment. The research also reveals that a supportive parental family environment affects their success in the EFL learning. It is not only a feature found in the participants’ birth families and it also presents in the new families they gained after marriage. The findings provide important knowledge to language learners, language educators, and policy-makers about the critical role of motivation and commitment in EFL, in particular, in contexts where the majority of learners fail to attain high-level of language proficiency despite many years of informal or formal language study.

Abstract

Tujuan yang ingin dicapai adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan passing bawah siswa  kelas V SD Negeri Labengga dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran reciprocal. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri Labengga, yang berjumlah 10 orang siswa dengan rincian 5 orang siswa perempuan dan 5 orang siswa laki-laki. Adapun hasil penelitian yang didapatkan adalah ketuntasan siswa pada observasi awal sebesar 20% yang tuntas sehingga dilakukan pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran reciprocal sehingga pada siklus I telah mengalami peningkatan persentase ketuntasan sebesar 60% namun hal tersebut belum memuaskan dan belum sesuai dengan nilai ketuntasan secara klasikal yaitu 80%. Setelah dilakukan perbaikan dari siklus I dan disempurnakan pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan persentase ketuntasan sebesar 100%. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada siklus II telah sesuai dengan standar ketuntasan yaitu sebesar 80% dengan ini tidak perlu lagi melakukan siklus berikutnya dan hipotesis tindakan yang diajukan dapat diterima jadi melalui pembelajaran dengan metode reciprocal l belajar passing sepak bola pada siswa kelas V B SD Negeri 1 Nalu Tolitoli.

Abstract

Kegiatan   ini   bertujuan   untuk   membantu   menyelesaikan   rendahnya produktvitas UKM pengrajin tas ?ENDXEN? dan tas ?SYAFA?AT? di Gresik. Permasalahan urgen yang harus  segera  diselesaikan  dalam  upaya  meningkatkan produktivitas kedua  UKM  pengrajin  tas  ini adalah perbaikan teknologi produksi melalui penerapan teknologi tepat guna (TTG) berupa mesin jahit elektrik untuk menggantikan mesin jahit manual. Metode untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dilakukan melalui penerapan mesin jahit elektrik melalui kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan yang telah dilakukan maka dapat diketahui bahwa  pengusaha kecil pengrajin tas ini telah dapat meningkatkan produktivitas produksinya dan karyawan meningkat penghasilannya, yakni untuk jenis tas rangsel laptop dari 7 tas/hari menjadi 14 tas/hari sehingga ada peningkatan produksi 100% dan upah  untuk satu tas rangsel Rp.8.000 sehingga penghasilan karyawan meningkat dari Rp.56.000 menjadi Rp.112.000, dan untuk jenis tas sekolah dari 12 tas per hari menjadi 30 tas per hari, sehingga ada peningkatan produksi 150% dan upah untuk satu tas sekolah Rp.4.000 sehingga penghasilanya karyawan meningkat dari Rp.48.000 menjadi Rp.120.000.

Abstract

 Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) untuk mengetahui konsep diri siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Kendari. 2) untuk mengetahui motivasi untuk belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Kendari, 3) untuk mengetahui hubungan antara konsep diri dengan motivasi untuk belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Kendari. Hipotesis penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan yang signifikan antara konsep diri dengan motivasi untuk belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Kendari. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Kendari yang berjumlah 187 siswa. pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan teknik propotional random sampling sebanyak 25%, sehingga jumlah sampel sebanyak 47 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan: 1) mayoritas konsep diri siswa berada pada kategori positif, 2) mayoritas motivasi untuk belajar siswa berada pada kategori tinggi, 3) terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara konsep diri dengan motivasi untuk belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Kendari. Kata Kunci: Konsep Diri, Motivasi Untuk Belajar

Abstract

Tujan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pengalaman/pengetahuan baru bagi masyarakat untuk memahami pentingnya Penangulangan Covid-19 di Sulawesi Tenggara; membantu masyarakat dalam pengembangan kecakapan dalam menghasilkan produk inovasi dalam upaya Penangulangan Covid-19 di Sulawesi Tenggara; memberikan pengalaman/pengetahuan baru bagi masyarakat Desa/Kelurahan tentang pentingnya suasana hidup sehat dan segar, sehingga dapat melaksanakan segala tugas-tugas rutin dengan baik tanpa mengalamami kelelahan yang berarti, khususnya dalam  upaya penangulangan Covid-19 di Sulawesi Tenggara; melatih kelompok-kelompok masyarakat sehingga mereka dapat mengembangkan diri mencapai hidup sehat dan segar sejahtera lahir batin melalui aktifitas olahraga dan penciptaan produk inovasi yang bermanfaat. Metode pelaksanaan KKN tematik ini secara tekhnis melalui pengorganisasian jarak jauh dengan menggunakan berbagai fasilitas media dan teknologi informasi. Kegiatan Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan selama satu (1) bulan dengan luaran yang: a) Menghasilkan masker kesehatan yang bermanfaat untuk program pencegahan COVID-19 per kelompok desa; b) Membantu penyemprotan disinfektan di desa/kelurahan lokasi KKN; c) Menjadi sukarelawan di POSKO SATGAS COVID-19 selama pelaksanaan KKN Tematik dalam penyaluran bantuan pemerintah kepada masyarakat; d) Membantu distribusi masker bagi masyarakat yang terdampak COVID-19 di desa pelaksanaan KKN Tematik; e) membantu pemerintah dalam mensosialisasikan tangap pencegahan Covid-19; f) membantu masyarakat dalam proses pembutan Jamu dan Teh Kelor; g) Membantu masyarakat dalam penyediaan Pembuatan medi/alat cuci tangan, Pembuatan handsanitiser.

Abstract

The community service program carried out in Sidoarjo Regency aims to help solve priority problems experienced by shoe MSME partners. There are two priority problems that must be resolved to empower partner MSMEs to improve the quality and quantity of their production, namely: (1) low quality and quantity of leather shoe brand labeling production, and (2) poor financial management. Methods to overcome the problem of low quality and quantity of brand labeling production are carried out through the application of semi-automatic leather embossing machines with electric energy and to overcome poor financial management through training and mentoring of financial management with a participatory approach. The results of this community service program are: (1) Electric energy semi-automatic leather embossing press machine, 2) a simple cash book. The conclusion of the results of the implementation of PKM activities that have been carried out with partners is that by increasing the quality and quantity of partner shoe brand labeling production with a magnitude of 30 times faster or (3000%) increase besides that the financial management of partner SMEs has been carried out properly through recording business financial flows using simple ledger.

Abstract

A tube bundle (shell and tube heat exchanger type) is a tool to transfer heat from a fluid system that usually functions as a cooler or heater. So, to find out if the tool can function properly it is necessary to hold a test, one of which is a hydrotest. Hydrotest is a test method to measure the strength and detect leaks in piping systems. This test is very important to do to ensure there are no leaks in the tube bundle. The test method uses water as a fluid medium which is filled into the tube bundle and is pressured by a hydrostatic test pump at not less than 1.5 times the nominal pressure. In this test, the tube bundle being tested has a nominal pressure of 183.95, so it must be tested with a pressure of 367.91 PSIG. After checking, there was no pressure drop from the hydrostatic test pump. The graph on the pressure recorder is as desired so that this test is declared to have passed. The tube bundle that is declared to have passed the hydrotest will then proceed to the final check stage by the QA officer. When doing a hydrotest, it must be done carefully because if you experience overpressure it can cause fatality in the tube bundle and damage to facilities.

Abstract

This research aims to develop teaching modules on welding techniques in vocational schools using the problem-based learning (PBL) model, a scientific learning approach, and an authentic assessment of welding competency using the manual arc welding or SMAW welding process. The development of teaching modules at vocational schools will improve the quality of the process and the quality of learning outcomes for SMAW welding engineering subjects at vocational schools. This research uses a development research method with a research design using design-based research (DBR), which refers to the instructional design model (IDM) development model design. The participants involved in this research were class XI vocational school students in East Java. The module validity test assessment results have an average score of 3.8 in the very valid category. The SMAW welding technique module that has been prepared can be used to implement SMAW welding technique learning at vocational schools. The teaching module evaluation stage results show an outstanding category, meaning the teaching module developed meets practical requirements. All students' average normalized gain score was 0.72, included in the high improvement category. The results of observations of the implementation of the PBL model facilitated by teaching modules from two observers were analyzed using percentages of agreement (PA). The research conclusion shows that the teaching module developed is valid, practical, and effective

Based on the results of observations and initial observations made at SMKN 1 Pasuruan, at SMK PGRI 8 Malang, and at SMKN 3 Kota Bima, a problem was found, namely difficulties in understanding the material in the subject of Audio and Video Processing Engineering because the media was lacking. The objectives of the research activities were to develop mobile-based learning media, describe learning media, analyze the feasibility of learning media, and describe the level of student learning motivation. The developed learning media is stored in .apk format so that it can be operated on a smartphone. The learning media development model adapts the Plomp development model, consisting of an initial investigation or preliminary research phase, a development or prototyping phase, and an assessment phase. In the initial investigation phase or preliminary research, analyze the learning of audio and video processing techniques and find a problem. Then, in the development or prototype phase, there were validation results from media experts of 91.31 per cent and results from material experts of 93.3 per cent. Finally, in the testing phase of the field test on 26 students, the results were 86.71 per cent, and the measurement of learning motivation was 82.85 per cent. Referring to the results of the research, the implementation of the mobile-based learning media that was developed is very feasible to be applied in the learning process. It is quite efficient and effective in increasing student learning motivation

Abstract

ABSTRAKAyam tolaki merupakan ayam lokal yang berasal dari Sulawesi Tenggara yang memiliki beberapa keunggulan seperti daya tahan tubuh yang lebih tinggi terhadap virus dan bakteri serta memiliki pertumbuhan yang beragam. Sifat-sifat unggul tersebut dikontrol oleh beberapa major gen, salah satunya adalah Transforming growth factor-beta 2 (TGF-β2). Transforming growth factor-beta 2 (TGF-β2) adalah kelompok gen growth hormone (GH) yang berperan sebagai pengontrol sifat pertumbuhan ayam dan termasuk dalam kelompok sitokin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui asosiasi gen TGF-β2 dengan ukuran-ukuran tubuh ayam tolaki. Sampel penelitian menggunakan 60 ekor ayam tolaki. Data tentang ukuran tubuh yang diamati meliputi: panjang punggung, panjang femur, panjang shank, panjang tibia, lingkar dada dan panjang sayap. Polimorfisme gen TGF-β2 diidentifikasi menggunakan metode PCR-RFLP. Hasil identifikasi ditemukan 2 alel, yaitu alel T dan alel C dan 3 genotipe yaitu TT, TC, dan CC. Gen TGF-β2 menunjukkan perbedaan (p<0.05) pada panjang femur 9 minggu dan lingkar dada umur 12 minggu. Genotipe CC memiliki panjang femur dan lingkar dada yang lebih tinggi dari genotipe TC dan TT.Kata Kunci: Ayam tolaki, Gen TGF-β2, PCR-RFLP, ukuran tubuh Gen Association TGF-β2 with The Size of The Body in Tolaki ChiABSTRACTTolaki chicken is a local chicken originating from southeast Sulawesi, which has several advantages such as a higher immune system to viruses and bacteria and has a variety of growth. These superior qualities were controlled by several major genes, one of which was Transforming growth factor-beta 2 (TGF-β2). Transforming Growth Factor-beta 2 (TGF-β2) is a group of growth hormone (GH) genes that serve as a controlling nature of chicken growth and belong to the cytokine group. The aim of this research was to find out the gene Association TGF-β2 with the body size of tolaki chickens. Samples of the study used 60 tolaki chicken tails. Data about the body size observed include Length of the back, length of the femur, length of the shank, length of the tibia, chest circumference, and length of the wings. TGF-β2 gene polymorphism is identified using the PCR-RFLP method. The identification results found 2 alels, namely allele T and allele C, and 3 genotypes i.e. TT, TC, and CC. Gen TGF-β2 shows the difference (p< 0.05) in the length of the femur 9 weeks and the chest circumference age 12 weeks. The CC genotyping has a higher femur length and a chest circumference than the TC and TT genotypes.Keywords: Tolaki chicken, Gen TGF-β2, PCR-RFLP, body size
