Abstract

This research aims to explain the effect of Local Own-Source Revenue (Pendapatan Asli Daerah/PAD) and the General Allocation Fund (Dana Alokasi Umum/DAU) on Regional Financial Independence (Kemandirian Keuangan Daerah/KKD) of regency and municipal governments in East Java Province during the period 2014–2023. Regional financial independence is an important indicator for assessing the ability of local governments to finance governmental functions and development activities without excessive dependence on central government transfers. This study employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The population includes all regencies and municipalities in East Java, using a saturated sampling technique that results in 29 regencies and 9 municipalities as research samples. Secondary data in the form of realized PAD and DAU were obtained from the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance and Statistics Indonesia. Data analysis methods include descriptive statistics, multiple linear regression, classical assumption tests, and partial and simultaneous significance tests. The results indicate that PAD has a positive and significant effect on regional financial independence, while DAU has a negative and significant effect on regional financial independence. Simultaneously, PAD and DAU significantly affect regional financial independence.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the management of the madrasah principal in improving the culture of interest in reading the Qur'an at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Ainul Yaqin, Jambi City, including the supporting factors, inhibiting factors, and the solutions implemented. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method through observation, interviews, and documentation, with research subjects consisting of the madrasah principal, teachers, and students. The results of the study indicate that the management of the madrasah principal is carried out through planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising, which are realized in regular tadarus programs and the habituation of reading the Qur'an before learning activities. Supporting factors include teacher commitment, foundation support, and a religious environment, while inhibiting factors include limited human resources and lack of teacher understanding. The solutions implemented include training, guidance, and collaboration with religious institutions, so that it can improve the culture of interest in reading the Qur'an and shape the religious character of students.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of educational facilities and infrastructure in supporting the quality of learning. However, the condition at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Ihsan, Batang Hari Regency, shows that the availability and feasibility of facilities and infrastructure are still not optimal and uneven. The main problem of this study is the strategy of the principal in improving the quality of educational facilities and infrastructure. This study aims to describe the condition of facilities and infrastructure, analyze the principal’s management strategies, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed descriptively. The results show that facilities and infrastructure are relatively adequate but not optimal, especially in sports facilities, learning media, and supporting facilities. The principal’s strategies have been implemented participatively through planning, procurement, utilization, and maintenance, but weaknesses remain in inventory, storage. And disposal. Abstract

This This research aims to analyze the influence of principal leadership, reward, and punishment on teacher work discipline at SD Islam Assalam Bandar Lampung and SDIT Baitul Insan Pesawaran. A quantitative approach with an explanatory survey method was employed. The population consisted of 73 teachers from both schools, with the total population being used as the sample (saturated sampling). Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 27. The results indicated that simultaneously, principal leadership, reward, and punishment had a significant effect on teacher work discipline with an F-value of 49.750 and a determination contribution (R2) of 68.4%. Partially, all three variables also had a positive and significant influence on teacher work discipline. Principal leadership provided an effective contribution of 34.45%, reward contributed 26.66%, and punishment contributed 7.24%. These findings imply that strengthening leadership and an equitable reward system are key factors in enhancing teacher professionalism and discipline within Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

Public relations (PR) plays a strategic role in the successful dissemination of the New Student Admissions Program (PPDB) at private educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the public relations strategy used in the PPDB program dissemination at Santo Yusup High School (SMK Santo Yusup) based on the public relations strategy indicators outlined by Kotler and Keller. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and questionnaires as supporting data. The data were analyzed inductively to identify patterns and meaning within the information obtained. The results indicate that Santo Yusup High School has implemented all seven public relations strategy indicators. However, the public relations strategy still needs to be optimized, as most people learn about the school through recommendations from individuals already familiar with the school. The conclusions of this study are expected to provide guidance for school public relations practitioners, maximizing the role of alumni through digital communication tools such as WhatsApp or Telegram groups and creating inspirational content with alumni on YouTube or Instagram Reels platforms to broaden their reach to a broader audience.

Abstract

Education funding that allocates additional resources to schools with a concentration of vulnerable or low-achieving students is a common policy instrument in many countries. This article presents a systematic synthesis of two recent empirical studies evaluating the causal effects of such funding using a regression discontinuity design (RDD) approach: Badunenko et al.'s (2025) study on primary education in Flanders (Belgium) and Sohn et al.'s (2022) study on primary schools in South Korea under a centralized funding system. The theoretical review links the findings to the education production function, human capital theory, and the distinction between average and underachievement. The synthesis shows that policy design (target definition, beneficiary threshold, and use of funds) and outcome measures determine the interpretation of effectiveness: in Flanders, additional funding showed no significant impact on mathematics scores but reduced underachievement; in South Korea, an increase in funding per pupil of approximately 20 percent at the policy threshold was associated with a decrease in the proportion of below-average students in most subjects, except reading. Implications for research and policy are discussed narratively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers' managerial practices in creating a positive classroom climate to achieve student well-being at SMAN 11 Muaro Jambi. This research uses qualitative research methods with a case study approach. Data collection was conducted thru interviews with subject teachers, guidance and counseling teachers, and students, as well as thru observation and documentation. The research results show that the teacher's managerial practices are carried out thru several stages, namely (1) systematic lesson planning and the formulation of class rules agreements with students. (2) organization thru classroom layout arrangements, seating rotations, and the formation of study groups. (3) lesson implementation, where the teacher applies various teaching media and builds positive interpersonal relationships with students. (4) supervision and evaluation, where the teacher conducts active monitoring and learning reflection. The positive classroom climate built thru the teachers' managerial practices has implications for students' well-being, both psychologically, emotionally, socially, and academically. The success of teachers' managerial practices is supported by school policies, positive interpersonal relationships between teachers and students, teacher professionalism, and collaboration among various parties. As for the inhibiting factors, they include differences in student character and motivation, limitations in facilities and infrastructure, limited time for BK services, and the lack of openness among some students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the utilization of social media as a supporting tool in guidance and counseling services through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The study uses data from 23 relevant scientific articles published between 2021 and 2026, sourced from Google Scholar and Scopus databases. The analysis process was carried out through stages of identification, selection, and data synthesis, supported by bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer to map research trends and topic relationships. The results show that social media plays a significant role in supporting guidance and counseling services, particularly in improving accessibility, flexibility, and students’ openness in counseling services, as well as encouraging the transformation of counseling services toward digital-based services. However, its implementation still faces challenges, including technological access gaps, limited counselor competence, and ethical and privacy issues. The novelty of this study lies in the SLR approach, which is able to synthesize comprehensive findings by integrating three main aspects: effectiveness, challenges, and strategies. These findings are expected to serve as a foundation for the development of more systematic and relevant digital-based guidance and counseling services.

Abstract

Family problems are all forms of behavior, actions, dynamics, patterns and interactions That disturbs the family, whether from any side. As part of the support system in School, counseling guidance teacher (BK) has a great responsibility in giving Assistance for students who face family problems. This research aims to Analyze the role of counseling guidance teachers (BK) in providing assistance to Students at SMA Negeri 2 Bangko who face family problems, and identify Obstacles faced in the implementation of the task. Family problems, such as divorce Or economic problems, can have a significant impact on emotional, social development, and Academic student. The method used is an approach with a qualitative case study design.v By involving BK Teacher at SMA Negeri 2 Bangko as an informant, this research Using a semi-structured interview with reference to a list of open questions. This data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis that combines data from collections Said individual. Research results show that BK teachers have an important role in Accompany students through individual counseling services, parent education, and reinforcement Students' social skills. However, BK teachers face various obstacles, such as Limited time, lack of family support, stigma against BK services, and lack of Adequate resources.

Abstract

Education improves the quality of human resources, driving sustainable economic prosperity. Producing quality human resources can be achieved through education at a specific level or through training aimed at developing talents.  Education is an essential and inseparable component of life. For children in the 3T (third-most remote) regions, the desire to pursue higher education is a strategic effort to improve their standard of living. However, rising tuition costs and unstable family incomes hinder village children's pursuit of further education. This research employed a qualitative case study approach. This method was chosen to specifically and in-depth understand the economic transformation of village fund scholarship recipient families after they graduated from college. The results show that scholarship recipients successfully transformed their mentality, family status, and economic growth. The most fundamental change in assistance was the shift in mindset from dependent families to independent families. Improvements were seen in the job profiles of both the parent generation and the university alumni who received the scholarships.
