Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze curriculum planning and evaluation based on the vision and mission in shaping graduate competencies at MTs An Najah Pekanbaru. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving the head of the madrasah, the vice principal for curriculum affairs, and teachers involved in curriculum development. The findings show that curriculum planning at MTs An Najah Pekanbaru is aligned with the madrasah’s vision and mission, which emphasize a balance between mastery of science and technology and the development of noble character, religious values, and love for the Qur’an. The curriculum is operationalized through subject mapping, integration of religious values, development of life skills, and strengthening of foreign language and technological competencies. Curriculum planning is conducted contextually and participatively, involving madrasah leaders and teachers, which supports the holistic development of graduate competencies. Curriculum evaluation is carried out continuously, covering learning outcomes, instructional processes, and students’ religious character development. Evaluation results are used as a basis for reflection and decision-making in curriculum improvement. This study concludes that vision- and mission-based curriculum planning and evaluation play a strategic role in shaping comprehensive graduate competencies and enhancing the quality of madrasah education.

Abstract

The development of education in the era of globalization requires educational institutions to adapt through effective strategic management, particularly in improving learning quality. However, strategic management and learning are often treated as separate domains, resulting in a gap between strategic planning and classroom practices. This study aims to explain the integration of strategic management in improving learning quality through a conceptual synthesis focusing on strategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation in educational institutions. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research. Data were collected from books and relevant national and international journal articles published between 2021 and 2026 through Google Scholar. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis to identify themes, patterns, and relationships among concepts. The findings indicate that integrating strategic management into learning is a crucial aspect that has not been widely explored. Strategy formulation serves as the basis for instructional design, implementation is reflected in innovative learning practices, and evaluation functions as a reflective mechanism for continuous improvement. Therefore, this integration is essential to systematically and sustainably improve learning quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Malay cultural values of Riau in learning as an effort to preserve culture and its impact on students’ character development. This research employs a qualitative approach with a literature study design, using data sources from books, journal articles, and relevant previous studies. Data were collected through literature review and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results show that the integration of Riau Malay cultural values in learning is carried out through the incorporation of values into teaching materials, the use of contextual learning methods, as well as teacher role modeling and habituation. The values integrated include religiosity, politeness, responsibility, cooperation, and respect. This integration not only serves as an effort to preserve local culture but also has a significant impact on students’ character development, such as being religious, disciplined, responsible, socially aware, and having a strong cultural identity. In conclusion, the integration of Riau Malay cultural values in learning is an effective strategy to develop students’ character while preserving local culture in the era of globalization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and measure the influence of Islamic values-based Human Resource Management (HRM) and teacher certification on the quality of education at MAN 2 Parepare City. Methods: This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population was all 69 educators at MAN 2 Parepare, with a sample of 65 certified teachers taken using a census technique. Data were collected through a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests (normality, linearity, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity), and multiple linear regression analysis. Results: The results showed that partially, Islamic values-based HRM had a positive and significant effect on the quality of education with t-count (4.596) > t-table (1.66980) and significance 0.000 < 0.05. Teacher certification also had a positive and significant effect with t-count (3.458) > t-table and significance 0.001 < 0.05. Simultaneously, both variables had a positive and significant effect on the quality of education with F-count (37.894) > F-table (3.15) and significance 0.000. The R Square value was 0.550, indicating that both variables explained 55% of the variation in education quality. Novelty: This research integrates Islamic values-based HRM and teacher certification in a single model, which has never been done in previous studies that examined both variables separately.

Abstract

One strategic effort in fostering students' spiritual development is the Guidance for Faith and Piety (BIMTAQ) program. This program is designed to instill Islamic values ​​through various activities, such as congregational prayer, Quran reading, religious instruction, and the development of good morals in daily life. This study aims to examine how the Faith and Piety Guidance (BIMTAQ) program is managed to foster student discipline at Al-Fatih Islamic Junior High School Plus. The method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive research style, allowing researchers to understand the phenomenon in depth according to the conditions on the ground. Data collection was conducted through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included the principal, teachers, BIMTAQ instructors, and students. The results indicate that the implementation of the BIMTAQ program has followed the four main management functions: planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising. This program has proven to have a significant impact on fostering student discipline, particularly in terms of punctuality, worship, and daily behavior. However, several obstacles remain in its implementation, such as limited time allocation and inconsistency in some students' participation in activities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the transformational leadership style of school principals and teachers’ performance in improving school management effectiveness at TK Al Iqra Mataram and TK IT Anak Sholeh Mataram. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The result showed that principals leadership style has proven to contribute to improving the effectiveness of school management, particularly in terms of work coordination, programme planning, and the implementation of school activities. Furthermore, teachers’ performance in enhancing the effectiveness of school management indicates that the majority of teachers have performed their duties well, particularly in lesson planning, the delivery of teaching and learning activities, and participation in school activities. This teacher performance also supports the effectiveness of school management, particularly in creating a conducive working environment and achieving educational objectives.

Abstract

Professional teachers are able to design creative learning, utilize information technology, and build a conducive learning climate. Teacher professionalism is closely linked to the success of the learning process and student academic achievement. This study aims to analyze the transformational leadership of the school principal, teacher professionalism, and community participation in supporting the improvement of educational quality at SMPN 2 Lingsar. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design to obtain an in-depth understanding of educational quality improvement practices. The research instruments included interview guidelines, observation sheets, and documentation as the main data sources. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and systematic conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that transformational leadership, strong teacher professionalism, and active participation of the school committee and community significantly contribute to creating a conducive school climate and enhancing sustainable educational quality.

Abstract

This study aims to examine madrasah policies for improving the quality of education implemented through flagship programs to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education. This is a qualitative study using a multiple-case study approach conducted at two research sites in East Lombok Regency. The subjects of this study include madrasah principals, vice principals, committees, advisors, and students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman model, comprising data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the flagship program policies at both madrasahs are based on an analysis of the needs and characteristics of the madrasahs using different approaches. MAN IC Lombok Timur tends to adopt a top-down approach focused on academic excellence, while MAN 1 Lombok Timur employs a bottom-up approach by offering extracurricular activities capable of accommodating all potential interests and talents. The implementation of flagship programs at both madrasahs contributes to quality improvement, competency development, and graduate competitiveness in line with SDG 4 indicators. The impact of flagship program policies extends beyond student achievement to include educational quality, attractiveness, and the madrasah’s reputation within the community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze women’s leadership in Islamic educational institutions by examining leadership styles, challenges, and strategies employed by a female madrasah principal at MTs Negeri 4 Kota Jambi. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study design, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The study reflects the growing recognition of women’s roles in educational leadership, particularly within contexts that have traditionally been dominated by men. The findings reveal that the principal applies participatory, transformational, and relational leadership styles that foster collaboration, open communication, and improved teacher performance. These leadership approaches contribute to the development of a supportive and productive organizational environment. Despite these contributions, the principal faces several challenges, including gender stereotypes, socio-cultural expectations, and institutional constraints such as limited resources and administrative demands. These challenges require not only managerial skills but also adaptability in navigating complex organizational dynamics. To address these challenges, the principal employs adaptive strategies that emphasize professionalism, competence, effective communication, and value-based leadership grounded in Islamic principles. These strategies strengthen her leadership effectiveness and reinforce her legitimacy within the institution.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) through the application of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles in the fifth-grade class at SDN 10 Bandar Buat. The results of the study indicate a significant improvement in all assessment aspects from Cycle I to Cycle II. The average score for the knowledge aspect increased from 71.96 (C) to 88.92 in Cycle II, earning a “good” (B) rating. In Cycle I, the average skill score was 80.64 (B), increasing in Cycle II to 89.87 with a “good” (B) rating. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the implementation of the TGT model successfully improved IPAS learning outcomes comprehensively, thus this study is deemed to have successfully achieved the established indicators.
