Abstract

Teacher performance remains a critical issue in improving education quality, particularly at the primary school level, which faces increasing professional demands and limited resources. This condition indicates that performance is influenced not only by structural factors but also by teachers’ psychological factors and adaptive behaviors. This study aims to examine the effect of work passion and job crafting on primary school teachers’ performance. This study employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design. The sample consisted of 69 public primary school teachers in Siulak District, Kerinci Regency, selected using a census sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results reveal that work passion and job crafting have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, both partially and simultaneously. Job crafting shows a more dominant influence. Together, both variables contribute 51.8% to teacher performance. This study highlights the integration of work passion and job crafting in explaining teacher performance in a rural primary education context. It suggests that schools should support teachers in developing adaptive work behaviors through training, innovation, and flexible work environments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of classroom management on students’ self-regulated learning and learning enthusiasm at SMP Nommensen Jambi. The study is motivated by the relatively low level of students’ learning independence and fluctuating learning motivation in classroom activities. Classroom management plays a strategic role in creating a conducive learning environment that supports students’ behavioral development. This research employed a quantitative approach with an associative design. The population consisted of all students, with a total sample of 85 students selected using total sampling. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS and SmartPLS through measurement and structural model evaluation. The results indicate that classroom management has a positive and significant effect on self-regulated learning (β = 0.728; p < 0.05) and learning enthusiasm (β = 0.701; p < 0.05). These findings confirm that effective classroom management enhances students’ independence and motivation in learning. This study highlights the importance of classroom management in improving the quality of learning processes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the principal's strategy in implementing the reading literacy program at SMP Labschool UNESA 3 Surabaya using Mintzberg's 5P framework (Plan, Ploy, Pattern, Position, Perspective) and to examine its impact on students' reading habits and literacy achievement. A qualitative case study approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the principal, vice principal, language teacher, and four students (purposive sampling), supplemented by school documentation. Analysis followed Miles et al.'s (2014) interactive model with source triangulation. The principal's strategy spans five dimensions: (1) Plan: data-driven planning based on school quality reports and AKM results, integrated into the curriculum; (2) Ploy: differentiated reading materials, indirect teacher engagement through self-made modules, and web-based literacy journal monitoring; (3) Pattern: consistent 20 minute daily pre-lesson reading reinforced through morning assembly and P5 project integration; (4) Position: literacy identity built through library facilities, reading corners, external collaboration, and public gelar karya events; (5) Perspective: a long-term vision of literacy as a tool for intellectual development and critical thinking. National literacy scores recovered from 88.89% (2024) to 97.98% (2025), and students reported improved reading habits and comprehension. This is among the first studies to apply Mintzberg's 5P framework to analyze literacy leadership at the junior secondary school level in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and understand in depth the strategies of teachers in stimulating life skills in early childhood. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, which aims to uncover the meaning and direct experiences of teachers in designing and implementing various learning strategies oriented towards the development of life skills in early childhood. The subjects of the study were teachers who teach in early childhood education institutions. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis used the stages of reduction, description, and interpretation of phenomena based on the lived experiences of informants. The results of the study show that the strategies used in An-Nahl Kindergarten use 4 stages: planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation/monitoring. These 4 components run in a structured and systematic manner, including: planning in the form of compiling programs and objectives according to children's needs; organizing, namely the preparation of teaching staff and structuring the learning environment; implementation, namely the direct application of all stimulation methods and activities integrated into learning; and finally, evaluation, namely continuous assessment as a basis for improving subsequent strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of curriculum management in developing students’ character and skills using the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) approach, as well as to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with key informants including the principal, curriculum team, teachers, and educational staff. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, document observation, and participatory observation of academic and extracurricular activities. The findings indicate that the planning stage emphasizes the development of success indicators integrating religious values, character, and practical skills; the organizing stage ensures task distribution, coordination, and resource allocation are efficient; the actuating stage combines academic activities, character development, and skill enhancement through varied learning strategies; and the controlling stage evaluates the achievement of indicators holistically and serves as a basis for curriculum improvement. Supporting factors include visionary leadership, active teacher involvement, adequate facilities, and parental participation, while inhibiting factors involve limited teaching staff, financial constraints, students’ family conditions, and restricted access to facilities or skill training. This study confirms that effective and integrated curriculum management can produce graduates who are intelligent, religious, and skilled, in accordance with the institution’s vision and mission.

Abstract

Objective: One problem of teachers’ work discipline is tardiness and irregular performance reporting, indicating the need for a technology-based monitoring system. This study aims to analyze teachers’ discipline, examine the implementation of SIKAP, and its effect. A quantitative survey method was used. The results show that SIKAP implementation significantly affects teachers’ work discipline. The novelty lies in using SIKAP as a technology-based monitoring system in elementary schools. Methods: This research used a quantitative approach with a positivist paradigm. The population was 288 civil servant teachers, with 174 respondents selected through cluster random sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics, including validity, reliability, normality, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination (R²). Results: The results show that teacher work discipline is in the good category, while SIKAP implementation is fairly good to good. Hypothesis testing indicates that SIKAP has a significant effect on teacher discipline (sig. 0.000 < 0.05), with an R² value of 0.718, meaning 71.8% of discipline is influenced by SIKAP implementation. Novelty: This study emphasizes the importance of digital performance management systems in improving teacher discipline by linking technology implementation with behavioral outcomes in education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of administrative staff in improving the effectiveness of school management at SMK Swasta Mandiri. Administrative staff constitute a strategic element within the school’s organizational structure, functioning to manage administration, provide data, and support the principal’s decision-making process. Qualitative descriptive research was used in this study whereby observations, interviews, and documentation were used to compile data. The study's subjects included the school principal, head of administration, administrative staff members, and teachers. The findings indicate that administrative staff make a significant contribution to the effectiveness of school management through orderly administrative management, accurate data provision, and responsive administrative services. However, several challenges remain, including limited digital competencies, partially manual administrative systems, and suboptimal coordination between the principal and the administrative unit. Strategies to enhance professionalism through training programs, administrative digitalization, performance evaluation, and strengthened internal communication are essential solutions to improve school management effectiveness. Therefore, administrative staff do not merely function as administrative executors but also serve as strategic partners in realizing effective, efficient, and professional school governance.
