Abstract

Improving the quality of primary education is a strategic agenda in developing quality human resources. Various studies indicate that educational quality is influenced by factors such as principal leadership, teacher competence, school culture, infrastructure, and community participation. However, most previous studies examined these factors partially, resulting in the absence of a comprehensive quality management model. This study aims to analyze the main factors affecting primary education quality and to develop an integrative quality management model based on a synthesis of recent research. The study employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Articles were obtained from Scopus, ERIC, Dimensions, and Google Scholar databases for the period 2020-2026. After identification, screening, and eligibility assessment, 35 articles meeting the inclusion criteria were obtained. The results show that transformational leadership of principals is the main driving factor influencing teacher competence improvement, positive school culture formation, infrastructure optimization, and community participation strengthening. The findings produce the Integrative Model of Primary Education Quality Management (MIMPD), which places school leadership as the main catalyst for improving learning quality and student achievement. This study provides a conceptual contribution in the form of a synthesis model that can be used as a basis for policy development and quality management practices in Indonesian primary education.

Abstract

Conflict is an unavoidable social phenomenon in organizations, including Islamic educational institutions, yet the integration of normative Islamic principles with contemporary conflict management theory remains limited, particularly when supported by field-level empirical evidence. This study aims to: (1) analyze the conceptual dimensions of conflict management within an Islamic epistemological framework; (2) identify conflict dynamics in pesantren, madrasah, and Islamic higher education institutions; (3) examine the impact of conflict on organizational effectiveness; and (4) formulate strategies for transforming dysfunctional conflict into functional outcomes grounded in the values of syura, ‘adl, and ukhuwah. A qualitative approach was employed, combining a systematic literature review of 47 scholarly sources with structured interviews of 15 teachers at a madrasah to triangulate conceptual findings with field realities. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (2014) model of data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that conflict develops through five sequential stages and is triggered by internal, external, and cultural factors; the interview findings confirm that miscommunication, role ambiguity, and resource constraints are dominant triggers, while deliberation (musyawarah), leadership justice, and brotherhood (ukhuwah) effectively transform conflict into renewed SOPs, policies, and stronger work solidarity

Abstract

The dynamics of modernization compel madrasahs and pesantren to revitalize their Human Resource (HR) management orientation to maintain institutional competitiveness without uprooting their religious traditions. Historically, previous studies on HR within Islamic educational institutions have predominantly emphasized conventional personnel administration and singular charismatic leadership. This tendency leaves a significant literature gap (research gap) regarding how these institutions strategically adapt to contemporary talent management demands in the Society 5.0 era. Responding to this void, the novelty of this study lies in constructing a theoretical framework that integrates Islamic work ethics with modern Agile Human Resources instruments. Employing a qualitative methodology through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach and critical analysis of educational policies over the past decade, this study dissects this paradigm shift. The findings indicate that the current trajectory of HR development necessitates a transition from traditional devotion-based models toward strengthening hybrid competencies, encompassing digital literacy, transformative leadership, and structured performance appraisal systems. This transformation critically depends on the leadership's capability to formulate an inclusive succession scheme rooted in Maqashid Sharia.

Abstract

Objective; Improving the quality of Islamic education requires professional, effective, and oriented institutional governance based on Islamic values. This research aims to analyze the role of human resource management (HR), financial management, and the integration of both in supporting the improvement of the quality and accountability of Islamic educational institutions. The research uses a qualitative approach with the library research method. Data is collected from various sources, including books, scientific journal articles, laws and regulations, and relevant documents, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that human resource management based on the values of trust, justice, responsibility, and professionalism contributes to improving the competence and performance of educators and education personnel. On the other hand, financial management that applies the principles of transparency, accountability, effectiveness, and efficiency is able to ensure the sustainability of educational programs and optimize the use of resources. The integration of HR and financial management through strategic planning, needs-based budgeting, human resource capacity development, and an integrated supervision system has been proven to strengthen the quality of educational services, increase accountability for institutional management, build public trust, and strengthen the competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze compensation management practices for contract teachers at Islamic Educational Institutions (LPI) and to formulate a resolution model capable of addressing compensation disparities in a sustainable manner. The low level of welfare among contract teachers, stemming from the foundation's limited funding, poses a major challenge that impacts teacher motivation, professionalism, and the continuity of their service. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, and subsequently analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which encompasses data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that compensation disparities cannot be resolved solely by increasing salaries; rather, a more comprehensive strategy is required. This strategy involves diversifying the foundation's revenue sources, optimizing educational business units, strengthening partnerships with various stakeholders, and implementing a performance-based compensation system (merit system). The study's novelty lies in the development of the *Sinergi Maslahah* (Synergistic Public Good) Compensation Model—a model that integrates financial compensation with spiritual, psychological, and social rewards to achieve teacher welfare that is equitable, sustainable, and aligned with Islamic values.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of school vision and mission in shaping the discipline and responsibility character of ninth-grade students at SMPIT Ar-Risalah Sukoharjo in the 2025/2026 academic year. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with field research design. Data were collected through non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The informants consisted of the principal, vice principal for curriculum affairs, Islamic Religious Education teacher, and three ninth-grade students. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was examined through source triangulation. The findings show that the school vision, “Building a generation with Islamic morals and achievement,” was implemented through character integration in classroom learning, congregational prayer, morning religious routines, class-cleaning duties, flag ceremonies, teacher role modeling, school-rule enforcement, and extracurricular activities. These programs shaped students’ discipline in punctuality, worship, learning, rule compliance, and neatness. Responsibility was developed through learning tasks, class duties, religious roles, flag ceremony assignments, and extracurricular participation. Supporting factors included teacher role modeling, parental support, and an Islamic school environment. Inhibiting factors included peer influence and an external environment that did not fully support character formation.

Abstract

Objective This study empirically examines the effect of financial literacy on business sustainability of micro-scale culinary enterprises in Purwakarta Regency, Indonesia, addressing the gap between the sector's high failure rate and the limited financial-literacy research specific to this micro, semi-informal context. Methods A quantitative associative-causal design used simple linear regression. Structured Likert-scale (1-5) questionnaires were distributed to 105 culinary micro-entrepreneurs selected via Simple Random Sampling with the Lemeshow formula in May 2026. After excluding 12 careless respondents, validity and reliability were confirmed for 93 respondents; a Kolmogorov-Smirnov test then required removing seven outliers, yielding a final sample of 86 respondents analyzed with SPSS 25 (alpha = 0.05). Results The regression equation was Y = 1.838 + 0.611X, with R = 0.897 and R2 = 0.804, indicating that financial literacy explains 80.4% of the variance in business sustainability. The model was significant (F = 344.354, p < 0.001), and financial literacy positively and significantly affected business sustainability (t = 18.557, p < 0.001), supporting the hypothesis. Novelty This study is among the first to isolate the direct effect of financial literacy on business sustainability among micro-scale culinary enterprises in Purwakarta Regency, an informal, semi-urban economy underrepresented in prior research typically conducted in metropolitan settings.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze Islamic educational strategies for negotiating traditional values and gender equality principles to foster an inclusive and equitable madrasah culture. Employing a qualitative case study approach, the research focuses on educational practices, institutional policies, and *madrasah* culture regarding the integration of Islamic values and gender equality. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews with *madrasah* principals, teachers, students, and parents, supplemented by participant observation and document analysis. Data analysis utilized an interactive model involving data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data validity was ensured through the triangulation of sources, methods, and theories. The findings reveal that the negotiation between traditional values and gender equality is realized through the contextual and moderate reinterpretation of Islamic values, gender-responsive leadership, inclusive curriculum development, and the cultivation of a school culture that values equal participation and opportunity. These strategies create an educational environment that remains rooted in Islamic tradition while aligning with principles of social justice. The study’s novelty lies in its integrative analysis of how Islamic education harmonizes traditional values with gender equality—through the reinterpretation of teachings, leadership, curriculum, and culture—thereby reinforcing the madrasah's role as an agent of social transformation grounded in the principle of rahmatan lil ‘alamin (mercy to all creation).
