Abstract

This research examines and compares the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Experiential Learning (EL) learning models in the context of entrepreneurship education at Vocational High Schools (SMK). This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach. This type of research is a literature review with the PICOC data collection technique. Meanwhile, EL provides hands-on experiences that enable students to actively build entrepreneurial knowledge and skills, with learning modules and gamification elements that enrich the learning experience. Both have proven success in forming character, improving entrepreneurial skills, and developing students' soft skills. These findings are supported by the latest literature from accredited national and international journals. This research confirms that PBL and EL provide a significant positive contribution in supporting the development of vocational school students to be successful in the world of entrepreneurship, with important implications for curriculum design and learning strategies at the vocational secondary education level.

Abstract

Comprehension of concepts plays a crucial role in the learning journey. The utilization of various learning models can influence students' grasp of these concepts. (1) It has been found that there is a correlation between student participation rates and concept understanding when using two different learning models, (2) it has been found that when using a Problem Based H learning model, classes with high and low activity levels showed the most significant difference in understanding concepts. The study involved students of the TPTL expertise program at Brantas Karangkates SMK. This is a real experimental research. The study sample consists of two groups. In this research, the data underwent analysis through descriptive methods, preliminary tests, and hypothesis testing utilizing SPSS statistical software. Findings indicated that the hybrid STEAM-based PBL learning model, the STEAM-based learning model, and the conventional STEAM learning model demonstrated varying levels of concept comprehension across highly active and moderately low active classes.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of asset tangibility, size and volatility on financial distress. In estimating financial distress in this research, the Altman Z-score model was used. With a sample size of 27 state-owned companies for 4 years or during COVID-19. The results of the analysis obtained are that the asset tangibility variable states that it has no effect on financial distress. Because, a high asset tangibility value will not necessarily prevent the company from financial distress. The size variable shows that it has no effect on financial distress. Companies that have a large number of assets will not necessarily avoid financial distress or financial difficulties. The volatility variable shows an influence on financial distress. Companies that have low volatility values do not necessarily always experience financial distress or financial difficulties, and vice versa. This is because the volatility value will affect investors who will invest. This research concludes that state-owned companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2019-2022 period or during the COVID-19 pandemic did not have a significant influence on financial distress. However, during COVID-19, banking and health companies made very rapid profits.

Abstract

This article focuses on the development of mobile learning media using Android-based applications to enhance the teaching and learning process, specifically for English language education in seventh-grade classrooms. The study follows the research and development (R&D) model proposed by Lee and Owens (2004) and was conducted in two private schools in the Malang district. The development process consists of five phases: assessment/analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The "Seven" application, developed using the Andromo platform, aims to improve the four basic skills of English language learning: reading, speaking, writing, and listening. The effectiveness of the application was evaluated through material verification and media verification, using qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods. The findings indicate that the "Seven" application was well-received by students, with positive feedback regarding its user-friendly interface and the engaging learning experience it provided. The study demonstrates the potential of Android-based mobile learning as an effective and practical tool for enhancing English language education in seventh-grade classrooms.

Abstract

Differentiated learning based on student learning styles is implemented to accommodate the diverse ways students process and represent information. Differentiated teaching modules are essential to align learning with teacher planning. An educational report from a school in East Java indicated a need for improvements in innovative teaching practices, learning processes, and reflective teaching. This study aims to describe the implementation process of differentiated teaching modules for Grade 7 students. A qualitative descriptive method was used, employing observation sheets to monitor teacher and student activities. Observations were conducted by two Mathematics Education-trained observers, with data converted to scores using a four-point Likert scale and analyzed qualitatively through comments and suggestions. Challenges included students’ limited ability to operate laptops, experience with group learning, confidence in sharing opinions, and careful reading of instructions. Results indicated that the differentiated teaching modules were highly effective, showing excellent ratings in both teacher and student activities across four learning sessions.
