Abstract

Education objective is one of inseparable parts of education implementation, including Islamic education. The absence of concrete and measurable objectives of Islamic Education is one of the reasons why this study is conducted. This study aims to provide new breakthrough in the case of Islamic education objectives based on the concept of Mabādi 'Khaira Ummah. This kind of concept is a principle used in the social field triggered by one of Islamic organizations in Indonesia, NU, which is considered relevant to be used as a reference in formulating the objectives of Islamic education. This study belongs to qualitative approach and library research method. The data were collected by collecting some related references. The collected data then analyzed to be formulated into objectives of Islamic Education. As a result, this study provides a conclusion that the objective of Islamic education is creating honest, trustworthy, honorable, fair, helpful, as well as generous students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep akal bertingkat Ibnu Sina dan korelasinya dengan Taksonomi Bloom dalam pendidikan Islam perspektif neurosains. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kualitatif jenis kepustakaan (library research). Sumber data penelitian ini adalah literature di bidang pendidikan Islam khususnya akal bertingkat Ibnu Sina, Taksonomi Bloom, dan neurosains. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menelusuri referensi terkait, baik secara manual maupun digital. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis isi (content analysis), baik pada reduksi data, penyajian data, hingga menjadi kontruksi konsep baru yang utuh dan fresh. Temuan ini berbeda karena terdapat interdisipliner ilmu antara pendidikan Islam dan neurosains serta korelasi akal bertingkat Ibnu Sina dengan Taksonomi Bloom. Hierarki akal Ibnu Sina mengajarkan tahapan berpikir dari yang empiris, teoretis, filosofis hingga metafisis atau dari rasional hingga suprarasional. Sedangkan Taksonomi Bloom berisi level-level berpikir dari yang rendah menuju yang tinggi pada level empiris hingga teoretis dan filosofis. Oleh karena itu, akal bertingkat Ibnu Sina dapat menjadi tawaran alternatif baru taksonomi pembelajaran pendidikan Islam yang yang lebih potensial dan relevan dengan kinerja otak dalam neurosains.

Abstract

Islamic educational institutions are encouraged to implement the model of integrated Islamic education in recent years. They are supposed to integrate Islamic studies, science and technology. The present study aims to reveal the reasons why MAN IC Pekalongan implement an integrated Islamic education model, describe the implementation of students’ activities programs based on science integration, describe the implementation of curriculum development based on science integration, describe the learning implementation based on the integration of Islamic studies, science and technology. Grounded in qualitative approach, data were garnered through interview, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed through reduction, display, and data verification. The study findings expose that: first, the reasons of integrating Islamic studies, science and technology is to reach the vision of the school which aims to be excellent both on academic and non-academic areas which then be able to improve the quality of madrasah as an integrative Islamic education institution. Second, the students’ activity program used is the model of Separated Integration System (SIS). Third, the curriculum development program used is the model of Integrated Tree Curriculum (ITC). Fourth, the learning implementation uses the model of Integrating Verb (IV), Interdisciplinary Dialogic Integration (IDI), Instrumentalist Justification Integration (IJI), and reflective technique.

Abstract

R.A. Kartini dikenal sebagai tokoh emansipasi wanita di Indonesia. Perjuangan seorang Kartini ternyata tidak hanya sebatas memperjuangkan kaum wanita yang terkungkung oleh adat pada masa itu, tetapi juga berpikir tentang perkembangan pendidikan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemikiran Kartini tentang hukuman dalam pendidikan dan relevansinya dengan pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode induktif dan masuk ke dalam kategori penelitian kepustakaan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menggunakan teknik dokumentasi dalam pengumpulan datanya. Sumber data utama dalam penelitian ini adalah buku Habis Gelap Terbitlah Terang yang diterbitkan oleh penerbit Narasi Yogyakarta tahun 2018. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kartini menyetujui penerapan hukuman dalam dunia pendidikan. Meskipun demikian, Kartini menolak adanya penerapan hukuman yang melibatkan kekerasan fisik seperti pukulan dan siksa badan. Hal ini dikarenakan penerapan hukuman fisik tidak dapat memberikan edukasi yang baik pada peserta didik, namun justru dapat menimbulkan rasa dendam dan rendah diri. Secara keseluruhan dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam pemberian hukuman kepada peserta didik, pemikiran Kartini masih relevan dengan konsep pendidikan Islam karena sebagian besar para tokoh pendidikan Islam masih memberikan lampu hijau terhadap pelaksanaan hukuman dalam pendidikan.

Abstract

Pendidikan di Indonesia belum sepenuhnya menjawab permasalahan sosial masyarakat yang ada. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya peningkatan kualitas pendidikan untuk menangani hal tersebut. Gagasan KH. Ahmad Dahlan dan Paulo Freire bisa dijadikan model dalam implementasi pendidikan agar bisa menjawab permasalahan sosial kehidupan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perbandingan pemikiran KH. Ahmad Dahlan dan Paulo Freire yang meliputi gagasan besar konsep pendidikan dan implementasinya dalam pembelajaran yang memuat strategi, pendekatan dan metode. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi literature. Data dikumpulkan melalui penelusuran terhadap artefak, dokumen serta artikel ilmiah yang relevan dengan pokok bahasan penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini adalah, meskipun mereka hidup di tempat dan masa yang berbeda, namun peneliti menemukan empat persinggungan pemikiran keduanya. Pertama, pada gagasan besar baik KH. Ahmad Dahlan ataupun Paulo Freire menggunakan konsep pendidikan kritis. Kedua, Strategi yang digunakan oleh mereka untuk mengimplementasikan gagasan pendidikan adalah strategi authentic learning. Mereka membawa muridnya untuk membaca fenomena nyata yang dialami. Ketiga, keduanya memilih pendekatan student center learning. Keempat, metode yang mereka gunakan adalah dialog dengan para muridnya. Keempat persinggungan tersebut memiliki relevansi dengan pelaksanaan pendidikan Indonesia saat ini. Secara konseptual, strategi, pendekatan dan metode yang digunakan kedua tokoh di atas terwakili dengan adanya Kurikulum 2013.

Abstract

Terrorism as a manifestation of radicalism seems to arise and sink. Its existence is silent, but one day it can appear targeting all segments. The segment of radicalism thinking is the teenagers at the high school level. This because they are the transition from childhood to adulthood. The positive thinking mindset is seen with clarity of thought and brings the pandemic phenomenon as resilience to counteract radical thought patterns. The purpose of this study is to make the pandemic period a momentum for strengthening students' religious understanding as a counter to radicalism. This study is qualitative research with a content analysis approach to social media content. The results show that there are 5 (five) ways to strengthen religious understanding as an effort to de-radicalize high school students, namely: (1) Fostering logical thinking patterns wrapped in religion (science spiritualism), (2) Presentation of neutral readings so that their direction of reasoning is organized, balanced between thoughts state and religion, (3) Cultivating tawazzun and moderate attitudes, (4) Modeling attitudes and behaviors that are easy to imitate from teachers and education leaders, (5) optimizing the role of parents to assist students in distance learning patterns, learning from home, or online learning.

Abstract

This research discusses “A Holistic Model for Character Education in Schools.” Character education is considered an important solution to a variety of ongoing moral vulnerability phenomena. It is expected that through education the cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and spiritual aspects in learners can be harmonized. To this end, a holistic model for character education can be applied to learners. This study was carried out using a qualitative approach through library research. The data were collected by documentation technique and later analyzed by descriptive analysis. The research results indicated that character education is a process of positive values internalization in learners for them to possess good character, which comprises cognitive, feeling, and action aspects. Therefore, it is deemed necessary to introduce and internalize life values that are useful for learners to become whole human beings, that is, as individual-social, physical-spiritual, or autonomous-God’s human beings. The holistic character education model can be implemented in schools in an integrated manner across all school subjects. Otherwise put, it can be implemented through the learning process at school on a day-to-day basis.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the concept of independent education in Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s (KHD) perspective and determine its relevance to the independent learning policy implemented in Indonesia. This study is a literature review of character analysis with the main objective of profoundly investigating KHD’s concept of education about independent education through documentation studies and interviews, which were then analyzed using Content Analysis. According to the findings of this study, KHD presents the concept of independent education, starting from the purpose of educating students to liberate them esoterically, mentally, and physically by implementing Pancadarma, which is implemented in Taman Siswa, with among system using various methods that are continuously carried out from an early childhood to adulthood presented in the Taman Siswa. The concept of KHD’s independent education is relevant to that of independent learning in Indonesia today, in terms of its purposes, education system, teachers, and students.

Abstract

The present study reports student activities of tahfidz al-Qur’an at a public university in East Java, Indonesia, explores obstacles in enacting tahfidz programs, and examines the relationship between tahfidz activities and academic achievement. Grounded in mixed-methods, a qualitative approach was undertaken to describe patterns of tahfidz activities and problems, whereas the quantitative one was employed to measure the relationship between tahfidz activities and academic achievement. 25 students of tahfidz programs in four faculties volunteered to participate in the study. Data were collected through interviews and academic achievement documents. Study findings expose that there were three types of tahfidz students with numerous activity patterns, i.e. giving additional memorization, muraja’ah, and memorizing fluency using talaqqi-musyafahah and tasmi’-muraja’ah methods. Another result portrays that tahfidz students’ problems relied on time management, the lack of meeting intensity between students and their ustadz/teachers, the unsupported atmosphere, and the memorization method that did not optimize multiple intelligence. This study also reveals the fact that the tahfidz activities and academic achievement had a significant correlation (p < .01). It indicates that if the activities of tahfidz al-Qur’an encouraged, the student’s learning achievement would leverage as well.

Abstract

A mosque is a place of worship that can be used for religious activities, especially Islamic education activities. This research objective was to discuss how the efforts of Al-Jihad Mosque foundation management in realizing the taklim assembly activities as Islamic education for the Medan Baru community. This research design was field research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of the head of da'wah (Islamic teachings) and education, treasurer, mosque takmir, and Medan Baru people. Data collection techniques used interview techniques, observation, and documentation. The data that has been collected was then reduced and presented, and conclusions were drawn. The results showed that the Al-Jihad mosque’s administrators were very active in realizing the taklim assembly to the maximum extent. It was evidenced by the busy schedule of the taklim assembly in a week. The scheduled research material had Islamic scientific studies such as fiqh, interpretation, monotheism, history, and other materials. The implementation of the taklim assembly began after the congregational prayer guided by the mosque takmir. The taklim assembly at the Al-Jihad mosque received a positive response and community support. Islamic youth communities and organizations also implemented religious activities, especially education at the Al-Jihad Mosque.
