Abstract

In this context, this article will discuss in depth the three problem formulations that have been identified including the purpose and meaning, the essential material that is evaluated, and the variety and steps of evaluation in conventional education and Islamic education. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a library research method. This approach aims to understand the phenomenon in depth through analysis of various literature, such as books, scientific journals, articles, and other relevant documents. The results/findings obtained by the researcher at least bring up several subchapters of discussion including consisting of a Study of the Purpose and Meaning of the Evaluation of Conventional Education and Islamic Education, a Study of the Essential Material in the Evaluation of Conventional Education and Islamic Education, and a Study of the Variety and Steps of Evaluation of Conventional Education and Islamic Education. These findings highlight the importance of integrating Islamic values in the education evaluation system to produce individuals who are intellectually intelligent and have noble character. Abstract

This study is based on the accreditation of madrasahs which are still C in the last two accreditation assessments. Strategic management is an approach that can provide an effective framework for achieving educational goals and improving madrasah accreditation. The researcher raised the planning, implementation, evaluation, and strategic management can improve accreditation at MTs Guppi Nurul Jadid. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach through case studies. Data sources consist of primary and secondary. Data collection techniques with observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and data validity. The results of the study indicate that the strategic planning process for improving accreditation at MTs Guppi Nurul Jadid includes developing a vision and mission, identifying external opportunities and threats of an organization, and designing strategies to achieve goals to improve accreditation. The implementation of strategic management in improving the accreditation of MTs Guppi Nurul Jadid includes activities to determine madrasah policies, provide motivation by the head of the madrasah, allocate existing resources, and develop a culture that will support the implementation of the strategy. The strategic management evaluation process in improving accreditation includes monitoring activities for educators, education staff, and students and supervising institutional programs. Strategic management can improve madrasah accreditation at MTs Guppi Nurul Jadid through cooperation with all stakeholders and the community, periodic monitoring and evaluation, and human resource development.   Keywords: Management, Strategic, Accreditation Improvement, Madrasah

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the extent to which the gamification-based Duolingo application can increase students' motivation in learning Arabic, especially in vocabulary mastery or mufrodat, with the Self-Determination Theory (SDT) theoretical approach. SDT focuses on the importance of intrinsic motivation, which is driven by three main aspects: autonomy or independence, competence or ability, and interconnectedness or relationships that are established in the context of learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with a Descriptive Survey design to provide a more real picture of the influence of the use of this application on student motivation. Data collection was carried out with an SDT questionnaire instrument that measured the level of student motivation through the three main components. The results of the data analysis showed a significant increase in motivation among students who participated in the experiment. These findings indicate that the gamification-based Duolingo application plays a role in increasing students' intrinsic motivation in learning mufrodat, especially by strengthening a sense of independence, improving perceived abilities, and creating a sense of connectedness or relevance in the learning process. Gamification-based Duolingo has great potential as an effective tool in language learning, especially in helping to increase students' motivation to master new vocabulary. Abstract

Religious tolerance is a fundamental value that sustains social harmony in a diverse society like Indonesia. Pesantren, particularly the Salafiyyah Al-Muthmainnah Islamic boarding school, as an educational institution emphasizing traditional Islamic teachings through the kitab kuning (classical Islamic texts), plays a strategic role in instilling the value of religious tolerance among its students to face the challenges of pluralism in society. Despite the absence of specific subjects on religious tolerance in the pesantren curriculum, students encounter the challenge of understanding how to implement tolerance in daily life. This issue makes it intriguing to explore how religious tolerance values are applied in this pesantren. This research examines the implementation of religious tolerance values in Pesantren Salafiyyah Al-Muthmainnah. Employing a descriptive qualitative research method, data were collected through direct observation and in-depth interviews with informants at the pesantren, using a triangulation approach. The analysis involved comparing observations and interviews, focusing on the learning processes, and applying religious tolerance values at Pesantren Salafiyyah Al-Muthmainnah. The findings reveal that Pesantren Al-Muthmainnah successfully implements religious tolerance values through the teaching of kitab kuning, wise instruction on differences in Islamic schools of thought (madhab), and community activities that reflect respect for diversity, both within the Muslim community and among followers of different religions. Therefore, despite its foundation in classical Islamic traditions, Pesantren Al-Muthmainnah serves as a solid platform for fostering religious tolerance values and significantly contributes to creating a harmonious society.   Keywords: Religius Tolerance, Pesantren Salafiyyah, Kitab Kuning

Abstract

 The curriculum is constantly being improved until in 2022 the government introduces the Independent Curriculum. However, in its implementation, this curriculum still faces various challenges, including difficulties for teachers in understanding learning achievements and applying them in teaching materials. This study aims to analyze and ensure that the learning achievements and teaching materials of Religious Education and Character, especially the elements of the History of Islamic Civilization, are by the level of students' thinking ability. The research method used is the study of learning achievement documents and Religious Education and Character textbooks from grades I to XII version of the Independent Curriculum. The results of the study provide findings in the form of mapping learning achievements and teaching materials of Religious Education and Character of the History of Islamic Civilization based on the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains.   Keywords: Religious Education and Character, Mapping, History of Islamic Civilization

Abstract

Interfaith marriage is one of the controversial legal issues in Indonesia. Islamic Law and Indonesian Positive Law regulate the conditions and pillars of marriage differently, especially concerning the legitimacy of marriage between adherents of different religions. This research aims to compare the provisions of Islamic Law and Indonesian Positive Law regarding the conditions and pillars of interfaith marriage in Indonesia. The two main variables of the research are the valid conditions of marriage and the pillars of marriage. Through a normative juridical approach and comparative law analysis, this research examines primary legal sources such as the Qur'an, Hadith, fiqh books, and legislation, as well as secondary data from literature studies and court decisions related to the issue. The research results show convergence and divergence in these two legal systems. Islamic Law is stricter in limiting interfaith marriage, especially for Muslim women. At the same time, Indonesian Positive Law provides more flexible interpretation through administrative mechanisms such as marriage registration and temporary religious conversion. This research highlights the importance of synergy between religious law and state law in addressing interfaith marriage issues in Indonesia, as well as the social and legal impacts arising from the differences in regulations. Abstract

Islamic education is more than just a knowledge transfer process; it is a profound effort to shape individual character and spirituality. In this context, learning methods are crucial in applying religious and moral values in daily life. This research employs a qualitative approach through literature analysis, demonstrating that integrating Islamic values as a fundamental basis for forming the personalities of the young Muslim generation is vital. Learning methods that focus on the Quran, Hadith, and scientific literature not only enable students to deeply understand religious teachings but also to develop strong moral and spiritual character. The role of technology in Islamic education is also discussed, highlighting the use of online platforms and applications that broaden access and deepen understanding of Islamic values in today's digital era. The implications of this research for educators emphasize the need for developing teaching methods aligned with Islamic values, while for education policymakers, it indicates the necessity of inclusive policies that accommodate moral values within the national education system. These steps are expected to foster a more ethical society that respects religious values in various aspects of life, in line with the holistic and sustainable vision of Islamic education.   Keywords: Islamic Education, Learning Methods, Character, Technology.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the Kuttab-based learning model in shaping students' character and academic performance, as well as identify challenges and opportunities for its implementation in modern education. The method used is a literature review by collecting data from books, articles, and other relevant sources. The collected data were grouped into key themes, such as the history of Kuttab, principles of religion-based education, and the challenges and advantages of this model. Analysis was conducted to identify relevant patterns and synthesize information to support the research objectives. The results show that Kuttab education is vital in integrating religious knowledge and science, creating intellectual and spiritual balance. This model effectively shapes a generation that is intelligent and morally upright. Despite challenges like limited infrastructure and globalization, Kuttab holds significant potential for character education. The use of technology and the integration of religious curriculum with general sciences offer opportunities for developing a morally and intellectually excellent generation. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing religious character values through ngopi bengi discussion activities at IPNU-IPPNU Ranting Tahunan. This research is the result of field research at IPNU-IPPNU Ranting Tahunan. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach and a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection techniques were carried out by observation of Ngopi Bengi Discussion activities, interviews with the chairman and members of IPNU IPPNU, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the process of internalizing religious character values through Ngopi Bengi discussion activities in IPNU-IPPNU Ranting Tahunan could be one of the means of a religious organization to improve character values, responsibility, patience, discipline, caring, tolerance, and spirituality. Ngopi Bengi discussion activities are not only a means to deepen religious knowledge by discussing with the cleric, but also to shape participants' religious character values for the better through application in everyday life. With an approach based on spiritual, social, and competition education, this activity proves the relevance of religious character internalization methods in facing modern social challenges.   Keywords: Character Value, Religious, religious discussion

Abstract

This research analyzes the implementation of simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) during the COVID-19 pandemic from a qawaid fiqhiyyah perspective. This research method is an analytical approach to Islamic law, using qawaid fiqhiyyah as a basis for analyzing the implementation of simultaneous regional elections during the pandemic. The results of this research are as follows: First, Maqasid al-Syariah (objects of sharia). In the context of simultaneous regional elections during a pandemic, this perspective helps determine the most appropriate actions to maintain public safety and health as the main goal. Second, dharurat (emergency). These principles help interpret religious law and provide flexibility in dealing with emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Third, the principle of public interest. In the context of simultaneous regional elections during the pandemic, this is used as the basis for decision-making regarding implementing elections. Fourth, Hifdz al-Aql (mind protection). In the context of simultaneous regional elections during a pandemic, this principle can encourage rational action and minimize the risk of spreading the virus. Fifth, human glory honor, and dignity.
