Abstract

This study aims to analyze the values of traditional education contained in the Mājar-ajar procession and examine its implications for the Hindu community's social, cultural, and economic aspects in Bali. The research method used is qualitative with observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and literature studies. The results of the study indicate that the Mājar-ajar procession contains traditional educational values, such as the teachings of tatwa (Hindu philosophy), susila (morality), and ceremonies (religious rituals), which are passed down from generation to generation. From a social aspect, this procession strengthens social relations, solidarity, and a sense of togetherness in society. From a cultural aspect, this procession is a means of preserving Hindu traditions and cultural identity in Bali through ritual symbols, performing arts, and religious practices. Meanwhile, from an economic aspect, this procession contributes to the empowerment of the community's economy through the tourism sector, creative industry, and trade in ritual products. The Mājar-ajar procession functions as a religious ritual. It has a strategic role in maintaining the continuity of traditional education, strengthening social and cultural structures, and encouraging economic growth based on local culture. Therefore, efforts are needed to preserve and develop this procession to remain relevant and useful in Hindu society in Bali.

Abstract

Communication issues between educators and students in classroom management pose challenges, especially when balancing motivation and discipline. This study aims to investigate patterns of teacher reprimand and supportive communication in classroom interactions simultaneously and understand how communication dynamics affect student learning. A qualitative design with a descriptive approach involved teachers and students in the research project across three secondary schools in Purbalingga, meeting diverse classroom criteria. Data collection methods included documentation, field notes, direct observation, and interviews organized during the academic year of the three-phase systematic research. Thematic analysis was used to examine the data. Results showed that the proportional ratio between reprimand and support depended on class characteristics. Thus, disciplined classes showed a ratio of 1:2; conducive streams were closer to 1:1.5, and even "less controlled" conducive classes relied on reprimands (1:1.5). Direct reprimands proved more effective in crises, while verbal support increased student motivation, especially for students with low participation. Regression analysis revealed a significant positive correlation of 0.6 between support and student motivation and a weak negative correlation of -0.3 for reprimands. Thus, teacher training based on these abilities is indispensable in educational practice.

Abstract

This article examines research trends on parental involvement in inclusive education in reputable databases. The method used is bibliometric analysis with the Biblioshiny application and the central database analyzed from scopus.com. The keywords used were "parental involvement" and "inclusive education" in research from 1975 to 2024. After the extraction process with only article publications in scientific journals, 170 publication data were obtained. The results of bibliometric analysis show that in nearly 50 years, the number of studies tends to be small—most research centers in the United States, with the most productive institution being the University of Minnesota. At the same time, the most productive researcher is Gabriella Pusztai, who has three publications. The primary reference journal is Early Child and Development Care. When viewed from keywords, child, parent, and parental involvement are the most dominant keywords researchers use. This provides a comprehensive picture of the development of parental involvement research. Furthermore, research is expected to be more contextualized with the socio-cultural conditions where the research is conducted to add to the diversity of research related to parental involvement, especially in inclusive education.
