Abstract

Environmental Education (EE) is currently receiving broad attention in formulating and implementing fostering students' character to be more environmentally conscious. This issue is also entangled with the global commitment to create a sustainable society. Indonesia experienced a curriculum transition from the K13 to Merdeka curricula; thus, integrating environmental problems into the new curricula is important. In general, the implementation of EE in schools can be divided into two approaches: integrating it into a specific syllabus and incorporating it into extracurricular or ceremonial school activities. Several obstacles have been identified during the implementation of EE, especially at the high school level and its equivalents, including EE being perceived as a burden on students' study time, a lack of coordination among relevant institutions, insufficient funding, and ineffective EE program formats. These findings are based on focus group discussions (FGDs) conducted in-depth interviews with Adiwiyata High School students to determine the implementation of PLH in schools and supporting literature reviews. To address these obstacles, this research adopts a geophilosophical perspective as a novel approach to support education and curricula that promote sustainable environmental awareness, both in affective and practical-contextual actions, by considering the importance of geographical agency in teaching and learning. Consequently, it was discovered that the geophilosophical approach could serve as an alternative model for curriculum development that is more flexible to strengthen Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

The current phenomenon is that students do not yet have a deep interest in memorizing the Quran, and their talent for memorizing is still simple. So far, teachers only give directions and memorize assignments, and students must memorize verses of the Al-Qur'an and their meanings and interpret these verses. This phenomenon greatly worsens students' interest in learning; rote learning becomes very unpleasant for students. Implementing the Kauny method with the ADLX/Introflex approach can improve the quality of tahfiz learning, especially memorization based on digitalization. Students will be more interested in reading and interpreting it using hand movements and gesture language, so interpreting the meaning of verses will be easier and more enjoyable. They can memorize well and completely according to their experience. The aim of this research is: Students can activate their memory through memorizing and reading tahfiz and kauny methods with the ADLX/INTROFLEX approach. ADLX, or the Active Deep Learner experience learning approach, is a learning approach that combines active learning and deep learning approaches. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, using research instruments with interviews, documentation, and rote-based evaluations. The qualitative descriptive research method is a type, design, or research plan that is usually used to examine research objects that are natural or in real conditions and are not set up as in experiments. The research results from several sources show that implementing the Kauny method with the ADLX/Introflex approach is a very enjoyable tahfiz learning method. Student learning outcomes increase by gaining valuable experience and enjoyable learning. This method can even be applied to ABK students. Through its implementation, the quality of education in elementary schools increases because it provides students with experience in memorizing the Qur'an.

The Gringsing weaving craft industry in Karangasem, Bali, Indonesia, is a culture-based creative industry with its values and characteristics as a local cultural heritage with innovation and creativity important for developing countries and economic growth. With the rapid modernization of technology, Bali Aga ethnic weavers must adapt to changing times by improving education, skills, and knowledge to maintain the continuity of local traditions. This research aims to determine the probability scenarios for weaving sustainability in Tenganan Pegringsingan Village, Karangasem. This research is quantitative, with primary data from the results of FGDs with experts who will later determine probability scenarios for sustainability. Researchers will place more emphasis on educational probability scenarios to improve the skills and knowledge of artisans. The analysis technique used is SMIC-Prob analysis. The analysis results show that of the five scenarios formulated, there is the best combination with a probability of 0.104, namely the scenario of artisans producing as usual, opening a fashion stall, increasing production, and increasing knowledge. The conclusion of the sensitivity of the scenario shows the highest elasticity in the sustainability of Gringsing weaving by realizing an educational scenario to increase skills and knowledge of 1.102. It can be concluded that the sustainability of weaving is determined mainly by the educational scenario to improve the skills and knowledge of artisans. Training programs and instilling character values as support for weaving artisans need to be improved to maintain the sustainability and development of the weaving.

Abstract

In this extensive study, we thoroughly analyzed educational dynamics within the context of an economic crisis, primarily focusing on the intricate interplay among social, economic, and policy factors. Our research aimed to understand how these factors intersected and collectively influenced educational access, quality, and well-being during economic turmoil. The research methodology encompassed a comprehensive review of existing literature, empirical data collection through surveys and interviews, and quantitative analysis of educational outcomes across diverse economic conditions. Policy interventions were pivotal in shaping education's response to the economic crisis. Targeted measures, such as increased funding for low-income schools and initiatives supporting educators, proved effective in mitigating the adverse effects of economic downturns on education. Qualitative data underscored the invaluable role of social capital and community resilience in supporting education during challenging times. Communities with active social networks and robust community organizations supported students and educators. Our findings unveiled a multifaceted landscape marked by both challenges and opportunities. Notably, the economic crisis disproportionately impacted marginalized populations, leading to widening disparities in educational outcomes. Access to educational resources was severely disrupted, particularly in disadvantaged regions, exacerbating pre-existing inequalities. Moreover, the psychological well-being of students and educators emerged as a crucial aspect of educational quality, with rising stress and anxiety influencing the learning environment.

Abstract

Subjective well-being is an important mental health indicator to study in students because it significantly predicts academic achievement and college dropout rates. This research aims to determine the influence of perceptions of the quality of higher education services, social support, and self-regulation on students' subjective well-being. The sample in this study was 325 students from various universities in Indonesia. The data in this research was obtained through the Student Subjective Well-Being questionnaire, the Higher Education Performance scale, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, and the Self-Regulation Questionnaire to measure the variables in this research. The collected data was then analyzed using linear multiple regression. The results of this study indicate that students' perceptions of the quality of higher education services, social support, and self-regulation significantly affect students' subjective well-being. Student perceptions of the quality of higher education services were established as the main predictor of students' subjective well-being. The results of this research imply that to improve students' subjective well-being, an approach is needed that includes quality services from the university, social support, and good self-regulation skills for students.
