Abstract

This paper sought to showcase the work of the Null curriculum in light of the rapid curriculum changes in Indonesia. Christian education has not been an exception to the curriculum changes over time. The curriculum and learning strategies for Christian religious education remain at the stage of compartmentalizing the curriculum for children, youth, adults, and the elderly. The Null curriculum becomes a counterweight to become implicit in houses, churches, and schools. It attempts to be honest about each learner's existence, culture, religion, customs, and the locality of school, church, and home. It represents something of a paradox amid the onslaught of curriculum shifts. The paradoxes become crucial by incorporating procedures such as critical analysis, art, and drama as interludes in the formal curriculum, such as the current curriculum development in Indonesia (Kurikulum Merdeka). Through a qualitative method, this research was conducted by performing literature reviews using secondary sources from various recent journals that bring together Christian religious education, null curriculum, learning strategies and the dialectics of curriculum in Indonesia. Results showed that null curriculum at home, school and church levels ought to be reconsidered by curriculum users and beneficiaries as part of null curriculum participation in content, flow of change and inclusiveness. The null curriculum is an ongoing curriculum through curriculum transformation in the midst of ignoring the urgency of the dimensions of Christian orthodoxy as finalities that get responses and criticisms when encountering learning strategies in learning spaces.

Abstract

This paper investigates the pivotal role of school principals in shaping and enhancing Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among teachers to enhance the quality of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) instruction. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Bumi Raya, located in Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, employing descriptive-qualitative methodologies. Data analysis was conducted using the N-Vivo software. The findings of this study underscore the multifaceted role of principals in fostering OCB. Principals emerge as both motivators and supervisors within the educational setting. As motivators, they offer support and encouragement to teachers facing challenges, convene regular meetings to address issues, and deliver motivating messages during ceremonial gatherings. As supervisors, they diligently assess and oversee the performance of their teaching staff, ensuring a high standard of educational delivery. Internally, factors influencing OCB include teachers' personality development and perception of organizational support. Externally, the quality of relationships between superiors and subordinates and the length of service significantly impact OCB outcomes. In summary, this research sheds light on the pivotal role of school principals as motivators and supervisors and identifies key internal and external factors that influence the optimization of OCB among teachers. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for improving the management and quality of Islamic Religious Education learning in educational institutions.

Data analysis is used through presentation, reduction and conclusion. The research results show that Poda Na Lima has been developing an educational curriculum based on local content. The obstacle was that it had not been implemented optimally as part of developing the local content education curriculum there. It is due to a lack of coordination, socialization synergy, local government education, budget allocation, and human resource development for the community, especially the younger generation, regarding the importance of maintaining and preserving the philosophy. The authors concluded that with the development of local content educational curricula and local knowledge in the community, the local government needs to take policies to maintain and preserve the Poda Na Lima philosophy in Mandailing Natal.

Abstract

University-based Pesantren has a distinctive curriculum that develops and integrates the Pesantren system with its academic-university system. This means that the assessment at pesantren universities does not only apply to the academic side but also the boarding (kepesantrenan) side. If the academic side is assessed through the Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA)/Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK), what about the value of boarding school? We explore the Student Activity Assessment Credit Score (Angka Kredit Penilaian Aktifitas Mahasiswa (AKPAM)) system at Darussalam Gontor University. We designed the qualitative study using a grounded theory approach. We found that AKPAM can counted as a system designed to calculate the kepesantrenan scores of UNIDA students; which is one of the process systems in Integrative Human Resource Development (HRD) typical of UNIDA Gontor; as a pesantren-based university. Second, the AKPAM system is proven to be directly proportional to the HRD theory proposed by Richard Swanson. Third, pesantren-based universities have proven to be competitive in terms of education management in this era. We highlight that this study expands the novel HR management pattern in pesantren universities; as indigenous education.

Abstract

Strengthening disciplinary character education through disciplinary development is an inseparable part of Islamic boarding schools. As traditional Islamic educational institutions, Islamic boarding schools have broader goals than simply transmitting religious knowledge. One of the main goals of Islamic boarding schools is to form an Islamic character in students. Discipline is a means of creating attitudes and behaviors that are contrary to the teachings of the Islamic religion, including obedience, patience, and responsibility. This research aims to find and explain discipline development activities in strengthening character education in Islamic boarding schools. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with a field focus at the Al-Istiqamah Ngatabaru Modern Islamic Boarding School, Central Sulawesi. Data collection methods are carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis method uses data reduction techniques, presentation, verification, and conclusions. The research found that strengthening disciplinary character education and developing disciplinary character were two important activities at the Al-Istiqamah Ngatabaru Modern Islamic Boarding School, South Sulawesi. Through these two activities, the disciplined character of students can be realized to support various religious activities in Islamic boarding schools. From this disciplined character in participating in religious activities, students become individuals who master a lot of religious knowledge and always behave well in everyday life.
