Abstract

This research aims to develop teaching materials for natural disaster mitigation literacy with the help of book creators for junior high school students. The method used is R&D with a 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate). The population of this study is students of SMP Pasundan 3 Bandung with a sample of class VIII A of 29 people. The data analysis techniques used are qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive. In the effectiveness test of teaching materials, the data analysis used was a paired sample t-test. The results of the study show that based on the analysis of the need for the availability of teaching materials, natural disaster mitigation literacy is still limited and 90% of students do not know about natural disaster mitigation. At the design stage, natural disaster mitigation media and content are designed to be attractive and easy to understand by combining images and videos in each chapter. At the development stage, the validation of material and media experts was 94.17% and 86.90% which were in the valid category. The effectiveness test showed an increase in student understanding to 72.07 after the posttest with a paired test until a t test of p= 0.000 < 0.05. It can be concluded that innovative digital teaching materials are important in improving students' preparedness for natural disasters.

Abstract

This study investigates the phenomenon of verbal aggression in posts on social media platforms, particularly Facebook, in Indonesian language. The research applied a qualitative descriptive methodology to explore the ways in which verbal aggressiveness manifests in user conversations within a specific linguistic and cultural specific context. The analysis, based on Pierre Bourdieu's Symbolic Violence theory, aims to identify several types and interpretations of verbal aggression, including hyperbole, euphemism, dysphemism, stigmatization, and association. The results indicate that Indonesian Facebook users often employ these linguistic tactics to express aggression in a subtle or explicit manner. This study not only classifies the various forms of verbal aggressiveness commonly found in Indonesian Facebook conversations, but also analyzes the social and cultural elements that shape these interactions. The study emphasizes the significance of comprehending cultural subtleties in verbal aggression in digital communication, which could be advantageous in formulating improved social media communication rules and cultivating a more courteous online interaction environment.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the process of creative thinking, including analytic, evaluative, applicative, and interpretative students in scientific work. The scientific works studied were in the form of Student Creativity Program, State University of Malang, Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative approach with a content analysis method. This research data in the form of paragraphs, paragraph clusters, and full text. The data source of this research is the scientific work of students. The research data collection technique was carried out by survey and documentation study. The process of data analysis is grouped into three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings of this study indicate that the process of creative thinking in writing scientific papers can be done with four stages (1) the analytic stage in scientific work looks at the examination of arguments. (2) Evaluative in scientific work looks at the assessment of arguments in accordance with the topic of study. (3) Applicative in the work appears in arguing according to procedure. (4) Interpretations in scientific work appear in the clarification of meaning, so that the meaning conveyed is clear and directed. The findings of this study contribute to an author's understanding of the importance of using creative thinking processes in scientific writing. However, for further research it is recommended to examine the process of creative thinking with different objects.

Abstract

This study aims to explore gestural multimodality, which includes hand signals, facial expressions, and body postures, within the context of cybertext. It examines how multimodal, gestural-based communication alters meaning in social media environments. This research is qualitative in nature and utilizes a content analysis approach. The data is sourced from social media text, which is classified and analyzed contextually. The research instruments include data collection through observation and text analysis of multimodal elements. Data analysis is conducted using a multimodal pragmatics approach to evaluate the role of gestural context in online communication. The results of this study identify five roles of gestural context in cybertext: (1) the utilization of gestural context as a basis for individual meaning-making, (2) the implementation of gestural context as a foundation for collective assumptions, (3) the incorporation of gestural context to highlight significance, (4) the integration of gestural context for verification purposes, and (5) the inclusion of gestural context to serve as a means of validation in digital communication.

Abstract

This study applies case-based learning and project-based learning models assisted by artificial intelligence technology with the aim of realizing differentiated learning, improving learning outcomes, and student participation. This study uses a Quasi Experimental design, with five main steps, namely: Preliminary Study, Preparation of Research Design, Technology Implementation, Data Collection, Data Analysis, and Interpretation of Results. The subjects of the study were 159 students of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program in semester 1 who took the Indonesian Language course. Data were obtained through observation, formative evaluation, summative evaluation, student satisfaction surveys, and questionnaires. Based on the correlation analysis of the results of the Summative test in the CBL and PjBL classes, it is known that there is no significant difference in learning outcomes for the two classes. However, the scores obtained in both classes were on average High, namely 79, or A- according to the University of Jambi's value scale. This shows that both models, namely CBL and PjBL combined with the use of AI technology, the Chat GPT application is effective in influencing the success of student learning in the Indonesian Language Course, the topic of Writing Scientific Papers. While in terms of student participation there is a significant difference between classes using CBL and PjBL. Based on the analysis, it is known that the average student participation in the CBL class is 71.56%. While the average student participation in the PjBL class is 87.49%. The results of this study strengthen the results of previous studies which show that the use of AI technology combined with the modern learning models CBL and PjBL can increase student participation in the learning process.
