Abstract

The study of hadith as a source of Islamic teachings after the Qur’an is an important part of Islamic studies in Indonesia, both in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) and Islamic higher education. The study of hadith at these two Islamic educational institutions has a different style. Hadith studies in pesantren are more focused on understanding the content of text (matan) of hadith by studying the traditions contained in the books of Riyad al-Salihin, Sahih al-Bukhori, Sahih Muslim and other books. Meanwhile, the study of hadith in Islamic higher education has experienced rapid development by focusing on the study of methodological mastery, for example, sanad and matan research methodologies. The books that are used as references are also more varied, such as the book of the tarikh al-ruwat, al-jarh wa al-ta'dil, rijal al-hadith, and other contemporary hadith books. This study aims to comprehensively reveal the development of hadith studies in these two Islamic educational institutions. This type of research is field research (field research). The data were collected by conducting a direct search in the field through the methods of interview, observation, and documentation. The data collected were analyzed and presented in a qualitative descriptive manner using a phenomenological approach. The research found that the study of hadith in Islamic boarding schools and Islamic higher education had different tendencies. These two tendencies need to be mapped so that they can be used as a model in comprehensively studying the Prophet's hadith.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a crucial role in developing students' cognitive abilities and character. However, PAI learning is often dominated by lectures, as the content is mostly theoretical and normative. This lack of varied learning media has led to low student engagement. The demand for technological integration requires PAI teachers to utilize technology in their teaching, but many are not equipped to create interactive learning media. This study aims to develop PAI learning media using Articulate Storyline 3 and to assess students' motivation in using this media. The research uses a Research and Development (R&D) method, following Borg & Gall's 10-step model. It was conducted in six high schools in East Kalimantan. Preliminary field testing, involving 30 students, showed the following results: for media, 20.24% rated it very good, 41.67% good, 34.52% adequate, and 3.57% poor; for material, 22.50% rated it very good, 40.83% good, 35.42% adequate, and 1.25% poor; for learning, 28.79% rated it very good, 46.21% good, 23.11% adequate, and 1.89% poor. Similar positive results were found in further field testing. The analysis of learning outcomes using SPSS indicated a significant difference before and after using the media, with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000. This shows that interactive multimedia enhances students' learning performance.

Subsequently, the e-learning system was introduced as a pilot project in the school setting. Students and teachers actively participated in utilizing this system to access Islamic religious content that was customized to their individual needs and comprehension level. Throughout the implementation phase, an assessment was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the e-learning system in enhancing comprehension of the Islamic faith and fostering a moderate religious mindset. The findings of this research demonstrated a significant demand for Islamic religious education focused on religious moderation. There was a pressing need for the development of efficient learning tools to facilitate successful comprehension of Islamic Studies materials, particularly among junior high school students. This conclusion is supported by the analysis of data using the Wilcoxon test, which yielded a t-value of -4.878 and a p-value of 0.00, indicating statistical significance (p < 0.05).
