Abstract

This community service activity aims to: 1) Provide training on how to produce water hyacinth into various kinds of craft products; 2) Provide training on digital marketing; and 3) Provide training on financial management. The series of training activities took place from August to October 2023. This activity began with an initial coordination meeting to prepare for the implementation of PKM activities with Partners in August 2023, followed by the implementation of training. The partners for this activity are the Sadama Group and the Aua Sarumpun Group with a total of 20 participants. The method used is community development through lectures, discussions, questions and answers, practice and mentoring to provide knowledge and skills in craft making, understanding of digital marketing and financial management. Partners also received assistance from water hyacinth drying machines, press machines and sewing machines. Apart from that, partners also created packaging designs, logo and Instagram designs. The results of this service are important for participants to be able to improve product quality and marketing and financial management of partners.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out by the Lancang Kuning University Postgraduate School Lecturer Team in the Riau Province Ministry of Health Polytechnic Meeting Room. The aim of this activity is for students to understand the legal aspects of health and understand the legal responsibilities of health workers in health services in hospitals. This community service uses lecture and interactive dialogue methods. In addition, participants filled out a pre-test questionnaire before the lecture and completed a post-test after the lecture. The results of this activity show that participants' understanding of legal counseling material has increased. The increase in participants' understanding was shown by the participants' answers, most of whom chose the correct answer regarding the 3 Main Actors, namely Hospitals, Health Workers and Patients who play a role in the hospital, Doctors/Health Personnel and Patients are legal subjects who have equal status, the rights of patients who has not been implemented, resulting in complaints due to complicated services, the Hospital can be sued if it does not provide good service, and the Hospital is responsible under administrative law for all losses arising from the negligence of health workers. Students from other universities need to receive knowledge regarding aspects of health law so they can understand the legal responsibilities of health workers in health services in hospitals.

Abstract

Hotong buru (Setaria italica) is one of the local food crops that has so far been traditionally processed to produce hotong seeds and the products produced are still limited to cake products that are consumed by the surrounding community. The limitations of processing infrastructure, knowledge, and skills in innovating from post-harvest to the diversity of hotong products are experienced by two (2) groups/partners in Labuang village, namely the Hotong Labuang Farmer Group and the Ina Labuang Group. The purpose of the service activities carried out is to answer partner problems related to limited processing infrastructure, knowledge, and skills in producing hotong products through collaboration in the development and application of science and technology produced by universities to be utilized for the needs of the community (partners). The solutions provided for the community, in this case, the partners, include technology dissemination starting from post-harvesting hotong to processing into products with packaging and marketing strategies. The method of implementing this service activity is through the KOSABANGSA program which starts from the stages of preparation, implementation monitoring, and evaluation. The results obtained in this service were achieved based on the designed activity plan where there was an increase in partner knowledge, partners were skilled in operating the technology tools provided such as dome, thresher, disk mill, processing of mosef flour, making cookies and noodles to the marketing strategy.

Abstract

ChatGPT, a widely used Large Language Model (LLM), enhances productivity in various sectors, including education. However, its extensive usage often lacks proficiency in writing effective prompts, resulting in less optimal, biased, and hallucinated outputs. This community service initiative by Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) aims to educate teachers on prompt engineering, enabling them to (i) write effective prompts to utilize ChatGPT's potential, (ii) educate about potential biases and hallucinations of ChatGPT, and (iii) integrate ChatGPT into educational practices with integrity. Partnering with three Muhammadiyah Schools, the program trains 7-8 teachers from each institution. The training covers five key areas: (a) prompt engineering introduction, (b) building optimal prompts, (c) leveraging ChatGPT in teaching and learning, (d) prompt engineering for educational material creation, and (e) ethics of LLM usage in professional and academic settings. The effectiveness of this program is evaluated through pre-test and post-test questionnaires. Results indicate a significant improvement in prompt engineering proficiency, rising from 35.3% (pre-test) to 87.5% (post-test), and in the utilization of ChatGPT for learning support, increasing from 23.5% (pre-test) to 81.3% (post-test).

Abstract

Tujuan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah melatih guru-guru di kota Kupang menerapkan disiplin literatif agar dapat menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang literatif. Asumsi penting bahwa rendahnya tingkat literasi siswa dan sekolah yang belum menjadi lingkungan yang literatif bagi siswa. Salah satu satu cara agar menjadikan sekolah sebagai lingkungan yang literatif adalah penerapan disiplin positif yang literatif atau disiplin literatif bagi siswa yang melanggar peraturan. Disiplin literatif merupakan cara yang dilakukan untuk memberikan sanksi/hukuman positif yang literatif bagi siswa. Disiplin literatif ini, sejauh ini belum pernah dilakukan di sekolah-sekolah kita di Kota Kupang baik di wilayah semiurban, urban, maupun rural. Oleh karena itu, guru-guru yang berpartisipasi dalam pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model penerapan disiplin literatif di sekolah masing-masing. Sasaran yang diharapkan melalui PKM adalah: (1) terlaksananya pelatihan pembuatan/perumusan disiplin literatif. (2) terlaksananya diskusi intens untuk memvalidasi model disiplin literatif. Kegiatan PKM ini diikuti oleh 21 guru SD di kota Kupang. Kegiatan PKM ini berjalan dengan baik selama 2 hari dan menghasilkan 15 bentuk disiplin literatif bagi siswa yang melanggar aturan di sekolah baik untuk kelas rendah maupun kelas tinggi. Hasil evaluasi juga menunjukan 85% peserta memahami materi yang diberikan oleh narasumber

Abstract

Penyandang disabilitas masih dianggap sebagai pihak yang memiliki keterbatasan yang menyebabkan penyandangnya menjadi tidak percaya diri. Hal ini berakibat pada kemandirian penyandang disabilitas yang bergantung pada orang lain, padahal mereka hanya memiliki keterbatasan, bukan ketidakmampuan secara menyeluruh. Pengabdian ini berupaya menggali potensi dari dalam diri penyandang disabilitas yang tergabung di Penyandang Disabilitas Kabupaten Kediri (PDKK). Penggalian potensi yang dilakukan menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan memberikan psikoedukasi tentang psychological capital atau modal psikologis sebagai upaya internal pengenalan diri dan potensi diri yang dimiliki masing-masing individu. Hasil dari pengabdian menunjukkan adanya perubahan pengetahuan tentang psychological capital pada masing-masing individu. Peserta pengabdian juga diberikan kesempatan untuk melakukan identifikasi potensi diri yang dimiliki berdasarkan materi tentang psychological capital. Pengabdian ini menunjukkan pengenalan dan penggalian potensi diri pada penyandang disabilitas menjadi salah satu pintu untuk melakukan pemberdayaan pada penyandang disabilitas.

Abstract

One of the activities of professional development for teachers is Scientific Publication. Nonetheless, many teachers have a problem with writing scientific work. Therefore, this community service was done to improve the teachers’ scientific publication through the writing process of a scientific article for journal publication. The type of community service in this research is Participatory Action Research (PAR). The activity of this community service was to provide training/assistance for improving the scientific publication. It was conducted in the form of providing training in article writing for the journal to the teachers in Islamic schools in Teluk Kuantan, especially MAN 1 Teluk Kuantan and it involved 25 teachers. The result of this community service was that the teachers as the training participants had a minimum initial understanding of journal articles and the use in improving learning quality in a class. The average indicator as a whole was only 23.725 and it was categorized as infrequent. All indicators that were questioned were in the ‘infrequent’ category. Meanwhile, based on gender-based motivation, it was found that both genders of the training participant had a motivation that was categorized as ‘frequent’ in participating in the training. However, there was a difference in the aspect for the indicator of being confident to be able to participate well and the readiness of sufficient basic knowledge. The implication of this community service is the importance of this activity and the like for the people to change the mindset and the understanding of the teachers as the training participants to be better.

Abstract

SD TQ Anas bin Malik is an elementary school established by the Anas bin Malik Foundation in 2022 by the Anas Foundation. SD TQ Anas Bin Malik focuses students on Islamic education based on the Quran and As-Sunnah. Learning activities were carried out in several houses in a complex rented by the Foundation. As a new school, school facilities are still fewer. The children also do not yet have extracurricular activities. The cultivation of vegetable plants in pots is a solution for extra-curricular activities. Community Empowerment activities held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 07.00 WIB until it is over. There are 18 participants who combination of classes IV, V, and VI. The results of activities that have been successful are socialists on the cultivation of vegetable plants in pots, plant, and evaluation of plant growth.

Abstract

Baitul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School Campus 3 which is located in the West Rumbai District Area, including Pekanbaru City, this campus has a very extensive educational environment so it is necessary to carry out maintenance to maintain the cleanliness of the boarding school, especially for students who may not have knowledge about classifying types of waste and the processor. For this reason, the service team wants to provide education on the introduction of types of waste and their processing. This outreach activity was attended by students, especially at the Aliyah and MTs levels. In the pretest, the percentage of participants who understood various aspects of waste management ranged from 12% to 76%, with the lowest understanding in electronic waste management and the highest in the definition and types of waste. After the counseling was carried out, the results were that participants were very enthusiastic in this activity, so that in the posttest activity the results were 100% of the 25 participants understood the activities carried out.

Abstract

The data from Badan Pusat Statistik Provinsi Riau in 2020 indicates that Riau Province is poised to benefit from a demographic bonus, with its population predominantly composed of the younger, productive generation. The abundance of young individuals is anticipated to serve as a driving force in enhancing the quality of life for the surrounding communities. The Riau Youth Leader Club (RiyoLC) is an empowerment program aimed at organizing and implementing community empowerment initiatives within Riau. RiyoLC is envisioned as a platform for Riau's youth to exchange ideas, information, and best practices, empowering them to address local challenges and contribute to the advancement of Riau Province. PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PT. PHR) has collaborated with Politeknik Caltex Riau to conduct various capacity-building activities, program development support, and implementation assistance for 34 participants from different regencies and cities within PT. PHR WK Rokan's operational area. The program covered topics such as leadership, problem-solving, critical thinking, project management, communication techniques, and presentation skills. As a result, seven community program proposals have been generated, with three of them receiving implementation support from PT PHR
