Abstract

The low critical thinking and mathematical representation skills of students are a significant problem in mathematics education, particularly due to the dominance of teacher-centered learning approaches that limit student engagement and understanding of abstract concepts. This study aims to determine the effect of Student Centered Learning (SCL) assisted by YouTube videos on students' critical thinking and mathematical representation skills. This quantitative study used a quasi-experimental design conducted at SMP Negeri 24 Bandar Lampung in grade VIII in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The research sample consisted of three classes: experimental class 1 which implemented the SCL learning model assisted by YouTube videos, experimental class 2 which used SCL without video assistance, and the control class which used the expository learning model. The data collection instrument was a descriptive test to measure critical thinking and mathematical representation skills that had been tested for validity, reliability, discriminating power, and difficulty level. Data analysis was carried out using the MANOVA test to determine the effect of the learning model on both dependent variables simultaneously. The results of the study showed that there was a significant influence of YouTube video-assisted Student Centered Learning on students' critical thinking and mathematical representation skills. Students who studied with YouTube video-assisted SCL showed higher critical thinking and mathematical representation skills compared to students in the control class. The use of YouTube videos helped students understand abstract mathematical concepts visually, increased their active participation, and strengthened their ability to associate concepts with various forms of mathematical representation. Thus, the application of YouTube video-assisted Student Centered Learning was effective in improving students' critical thinking and mathematical representation skills on the topic of relations and functions.

Abstract

Literacy culture develops not only as a mere hobby or passion for reading, but also as an effort that can be made to prepare us to face future challenges. The P3K UPI Purwakarta group at SDN 6 Nagrikaler held a community service activity in the form of a literacy workshop. This workshop aimed to increase students' interest in reading through reading books and encyclopedias. In this activity, teachers also participated in creating reading books and encyclopedias guided by students using the Canva application. The methods used in this study were lectures, discussions, and simulations/demonstrations of using the Canva application to create reading books and encyclopedias guided by the presenters. The results of this study are expected to provide teachers with new knowledge about creating reading books and encyclopedias through digital media so that they can increase students' interest in reading. keywords: literacy, workshop, reading books, encyclopedias

Abstract

This study aims to examine the emergence of English philosophy mindsets in postmodern learning situations and changes in the way of communication in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) era. This research focuses on the role of language as a tool to deconstruct meaning, shows that meaning is relative, and allows for a variety of interpretations. This study explains how English, as a widely spoken global language, helped transform traditional ways of communication into a postmodern model supported by digital technology. The method used is qualitative by systematically collecting and analyzing various latest sources. This study seeks the pattern of experience from three main topics: deconstructing meaning, relativity of meaning, and the influence of AI on postmodern learning practices. The results show that English functions as an ever-changing mindset, is able to construct meaning through AI, blurs the boundaries between real life and hyperreality worlds, and triggers cultural resistance in the context of learning. The uniqueness of this research can be seen from the combination of a postmodern perspective and AI innovation, which provides a new understanding of how language develops in the digital environment. In a practical context, these findings help in developing an educational framework by increasing awareness of the illusions generated by AI, while theoretically, this research contributes to discussions on the philosophy of language and communication, as well as encouraging the formation of more inclusive and equitable learning models in the era of digital globalization.

Abstract

The availability of interactive learning media at SMPN 2 Pangkah is still lacking. This study aims to produce learning media products that are suitable and effective for use in the learning activities of students in grade VIII at SMPN 2 Pangkah. The research method used was research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model, but limited to the analysis, design, and development stages. The subjects used in this study were eighth-grade students at SMPN 2 Pangkah, with the product being tested on 30 students. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and questionnaires. The results of the development research showed that there was a need for interactive science learning media assisted by Canva and Wordwall, as determined through the analysis results. After completing the design and development stages, interactive science learning media assisted by Canva and Wordwall was produced, which was deemed very feasible by three media experts and subject matter experts, with an average final validation result of 94.45%. Based on the product trial results, the use of interactive science learning media assisted by Canva and Wordwall on food material proved to be effective in improving student learning outcomes, from an initial average learning outcome of 7.67 to 8.7.

Abstract

Indonesia is currently one of the countries facing serious environmental issues that have become global concerns, such as pollution and waste accumulation caused by low public awareness of environmental preservation. This condition highlights the need for strategic efforts to foster environmental awareness and pro-environmental behavior from an early age through learning. This study aims to develop the Deep-PBL Learning Model to improve students’ knowledge and environmental care attitudes in biology learning, particularly on the topic of environmental change focusing on waste problems. Deep-PBL is an innovative integration of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and the Deep Learning approach. The model consists of five learning syntaxes: Awareness (Problem Awareness), Organization (Learning Organization), Investigation (Inquiry), Presentation (Solution Presentation), and Reflection (Reflection and Evaluation). This structure ensures that Deep-PBL not only emphasizes problem solving but also helps students understand the meaning of the learning process and its relevance to real-life contexts. The model encourages students to think critically, reflect on their actions, and internalize values of environmental responsibility so that biology learning does not stop at conceptual mastery, but also develops awareness, empathy, and real commitment in protecting the environment. With its holistic and sustainable nature, Deep-PBL develops cognitive abilities while shaping students’ environmental care attitudes consistently in daily life, thereby having the potential to produce a young generation that is academically competent, environmentally aware, and responsible toward nature.

Abstract

This study aims to identify challenges in classroom management and formulate effective strategies to improve teaching quality. Using a literature research method, information was gathered from various sources, such as books and relevant scientific journals. The research findings indicate that the main challenges stem from teachers, including overly strict leadership styles, insufficiently varied teaching methods, limited knowledge of classroom management, and a lack of emotional connection with students. Furthermore, classroom layout, media utilization, and time management also contribute to the learning environment. Effective strategies include sound lesson planning, adaptive classroom layout, increased discipline, and positive communication. Appropriate classroom management practices can creat a supportive learning environment, increase student participation, and help achieve optimal learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji efektivitas Game Based Learning berbantuan Wordwall terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada pembelajaran IPAS kelas IV MIN 5 Ngawi. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pre-eksperimental One Group Pretest Posttest dengan 28 siswa sebagai sampel. Tes diberikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan yang berlangsung selama delapan pertemuan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan, ditunjukkan oleh kenaikan rata-rata skor dari 39,11 menjadi 73,21 serta hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan paired sample t-test dengan p < 0,05. Nilai N-gain sebesar 0,58 berada pada kategori sedang, yang mengindikasikan bahwa integrasi Wordwall dalam Game Based Learning mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan keterlibatan siswa. Meskipun demikian, penelitian masih mengalami keterbatasan berupa tidak adanya kelompok pembanding, sampel yang terbatas, dan durasi intervensi yang singkat. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan menggunakan desain eksperimen yang lebih kuat, melibatkan peserta lebih luas, serta memanfaatkan teknologi pembelajaran mutakhir untuk mengkaji keberlanjutan dampak dan kaitannya dengan kemampuan abad 21 seperti literasi digital, kreativitas, kolaborasi, dan pemikiran kritis.

Abstract

This study explores undergraduate students' perceptions of using ChatGPT to help develop ideas in academic writing, based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The research involved 23 fourth-semester students from the English Education Study Program at Universitas Tanjungpura who had completed a Paragraph Writing course. A descriptive quantitative method was used, and data were collected through a close-ended questionnaire referring to four TAM constructs: Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), Attitude Toward Using (ATU), and Behavioral Intention to Use (BIU). The results showed that students viewed ChatGPT as a helpful and easy tool for generating, organizing, and improving their writing ideas. Most participants had a positive attitude toward ChatGPT and planned to use it again in the future. These findings are relevant to the TAM theory and confirm the importance of usefulness and ease of use in technology acceptance. Unlike previous studies that focused on general writing performance, this study highlights idea development as a key benefit. The findings suggest that ChatGPT is capable of supporting students in writing activities, but further research is needed to explore its long-term impact.

Abstract

Integrated Service Posts (Posyandu) play a strategic role in improving maternal and child health in Indonesia thru community empowerment. However, the effectiveness of Posyandu service management still faces various challenges, such as service quality, cadre empowerment, and technology utilization. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on PRISMA and Kitchenham & Charters to analyze patterns and trends in Posyandu service management and the factors influencing its effectiveness, based on the latest scientific literature. The literature review integrates Human Resource Management theory, Total Quality Management, and the SERVQUAL model to analyze the input-process-outcome relationship in community services. The literature search was conducted systematically on indexed databases (Sinta, Scopus, DOAJ) for publications between 2022 and 2025, applying inclusion-exclusion criteria and a phased screening process. The final sample consisted of 12 articles analyzed thru full-text extraction and documentation of the PRISMA selection flow. The research findings indicate that the effectiveness of Posyandu service management is significantly influenced by several factors, such as the competence and empowerment of volunteers, consistent implementation of work procedures, the use of digital technology, and socio-geographic factors that moderate service delivery. This finding also reveals differences in effectiveness between Posyandu in urban and rural areas, particularly in addressing health issues such as stunting. It is recommended to strengthen cadre training, implement more consistent work procedures, and utilize technology to improve the efficiency and quality of Posyandu services in order to increase community participation and satisfaction.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kontrol diri dan perilaku agresif pada remaja yang mengalami fatherless. Fenomena fatherless, yaitu kondisi ketika remaja tumbuh tanpa kehadiran figur ayah baik secara fisik maupun emosional, berpotensi memengaruhi perkembangan psikologis, termasuk kemampuan mengelola emosi dan mengendalikan perilaku. Rendahnya kontrol diri pada remaja fatherless dapat meningkatkan kecenderungan mereka dalam menampilkan perilaku agresif, seperti agresi verbal, agresi fisik, maupun bentuk agresivitas lain yang muncul sebagai respon emosional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional non-eksperimental serta teknik snowball sampling. Sebanyak 198 remaja yang memenuhi kriteria fatherless kategori sedang hingga tinggi berdasarkan Skala Fatherless. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Skala Kontrol Diri Ringkas (SKDR) untuk mengukur kontrol diri dan Buss-Perry Agression Questionnaire (BPAQ) untuk mengukur perilaku agresif. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman karena distribusi data tidak normal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif dan signifikan antara kontrol diri dan perilaku agresif (r = –0.437, p < 0.001). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin rendah kemampuan kontrol diri, semakin tinggi kecenderungan perilaku agresif pada remaja fatherless. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam memahami faktor psikologis yang memengaruhi agresivitas pada remaja, serta dapat menjadi dasar pengembangan intervensi untuk meningkatkan regulasi diri pada kelompok remaja yang rentan secara emosional.
