Abstract

This study aims to analyze user perceptions of digital collections at the Padang State University Library. Using Fred Davis' Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as a theoretical basis, this study focuses on six key indicators: usefulness, ease of use, social influence, trust, facilitating conditions, and intention to use. The method used was descriptive quantitative, with 100 respondents selected through random sampling. The results indicate that user perceptions of digital collections are generally good across all indicators, particularly in the aspects of usefulness and trust. However, some users still experience obstacles in access and navigation. This study concludes that improving user literacy and digital infrastructure can strengthen the effectiveness of digital collections in supporting academic activities.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has encouraged adolescents to be more active on social media, online platforms, and various internet-based applications. However, such increased online activity also brings a higher risk of cybercrime, including data theft, phishing, account hacking, and identity misuse. This community service program aims to improve adolescents’ understanding of digital ethics and personal data protection in accordance with Article 39 paragraph (1) of Law Number 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection. The methods applied include educational seminars, digital literacy training, cybercrime case studies, and account security simulations, conducted using a participatory approach among senior high school students. The results revealed a significant increase in participants’ awareness of personal data protection, the ability to recognize privacy violations, and responsible use of digital platforms. Participants were also able to understand the legal consequences of misusing others’ personal data. Therefore, this community service program contributes to early cybercrime prevention, enhances awareness of personal data protection, and strengthens ethical digital behavior. In conclusion, continuous education and regulation-based digital literacy programs are strategic efforts to reduce cybercrime risks among adolescents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and synthesize classical and modern phonological thought in the study of Arabic sounds through a comparative study between Al-Khalīl ibn Aḥmad and Noam Chomsky's generative phonological theory. The classical Arabic phonological tradition pioneered by Al-Khalīl through Kitāb al-‘Ayn provides a strong descriptive-empirical basis for the Arabic sound system, especially through the concepts of makhārij al-ḥurūf, ṣifāt al-ḥurūf, and i‘tilāf al-ḥurūf. Meanwhile, the generative phonological theory developed by Chomsky and Morris Halle offers a cognitive-theoretical approach by emphasizing abstract representation, transformation rules, and distinctive features in sound processing. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study design, through content analysis and a comparative approach to primary and secondary literature. The results of this study indicate that both approaches share common ground in viewing language as an ordered system, but differ in their epistemological orientation: classical phonology starts from articulatory observations, while generative phonology emphasizes the speaker's mental system. The synthesis of the two produces an integrative phonological model capable of explaining Arabic sound phenomena from both physiological and cognitive perspectives. This study is expected to enrich the development of contemporary Arabic phonological theory and open up opportunities for more comprehensive further research.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) method on students' reading comprehension skills. This research used a pre-experimental design with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research subjects were all sixth-grade students at SDN 007 Bangkinang Kota, totaling 15 individuals. Data were collected through reading comprehension tests administered before (pretest) and after (posttest) the treatment. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, normality tests, and hypothesis testing with the Paired Sample T-test via SPSS version 26. The results showed that: (1) The average pretest score was 52.80, with the majority of students (80%) in the very low category; (2) The average posttest score increased to 74.93, with the majority of students (60%) in the moderate category; (3) The hypothesis test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05) with t-count = -5.034, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, meaning that the implementation of the SQ3R method has a significant effect on improving the reading comprehension skills of sixth-grade students at SDN 007 Bangkinang Kota. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the SQ3R method is effective in improving students' reading comprehension skills. Teachers are recommended to implement this method as an alternative learning strategy, especially for materials requiring in-depth understanding of reading texts.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and validate interactive digital learning media based on Canva called Matching Alphabet to improve the ability of 4-5 year old children in recognizing vowels. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects involved children in group A at Puri Cendekia Kindergarten in Surabaya, as well as subject matter experts and media experts for validity testing. The validation results showed that this media was very suitable for use, with a suitability percentage of 96.8% from subject matter experts and 90.3% from media experts. The research instrument was also declared reliable with a Cronbach's Alpha score of 0.993. Findings in the field showed that the use of the Matching Alphabet media was able to increase children's focus and enthusiasm in recognizing, naming, and distinguishing vowels (a, i, u, e, o). Thus, the Matching Alphabet media is effective as an interactive and fun basic literacy learning tool for early childhood.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the steps involved in implementing the inquiry learning model assisted by the digital educational game Educaplay in teaching geography concept material, as well as to measure the learning outcomes of the experimental class using the inquiry model and the control class using conventional methods for comparison. In addition, this study aims to determine the effect of using the inquiry learning model assisted by Educaplay on students’ critical thinking skills. This study employs an experimental method with a quantitative research approach. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, with class X E2 designated as the experimental class and class X E1 as the control class. Data collection techniques include observation, tests, and documentation. The critical thinking test was administered after the treatment to both classes in the form of essay questions constructed based on critical thinking indicators. The results of the research show that the average pretest score of the experimental class was 60.12, which increased to 84.35 on the posttest. Meanwhile, the control class obtained an average pretest score of 59.88 and a posttest score of 74.21. Based on the results of the independent sample t test, the significance value was less than 0.05, indicating that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the inquiry learning model assisted by the digital educational game Educaplay has a positive effect on improving students’ critical thinking skills in geography concept material.

Abstract

Penggunaan bahasa Indonesia di ruang publik , khususnya pada papan nama dan baliho , memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung efektivitas komunikasi serta memperkuat identitas nasional . Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan penggunaan bahasa Indonesia pada papan nama dan baliho di Kota Garut, dengan fokus pada penggunaan huruf kapital , tanda baca , kata baku dan tidak baku , penulisan angka , serta penggunaan ejaan lama. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif . Sumber data penelitian berupa lima belas papan nama dan baliho yang terdapat di Kota Garut. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan dokumentasi . Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan identifikasi , klasifikasi , analisis , interpretasi , dan kesimpulan simpulan . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masih banyak papan nama dan baliho yang mengandung kesalahan kebahasaan dan belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan kaidah bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar . Kesalahan yang paling dominan meliputi kesalahan penggunaan huruf kapital , penggunaan kata tidak baku , kesalahan tanda baca , penulisan angka , serta penggunaan Ejaan lama seperti ejaan Van Ophuijsen. Temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat dan pengawasan dari pihak terkait terhadap penggunaan bahasa Indonesia yang sesuai kaidah di ruang publik .

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' learning activeness through the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in IPAS learning for fifth-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 009 Bangkinang. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 18 fifth-grade students. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and field notes. The research instrument used was an observation sheet of students' learning activeness. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis by comparing students' learning activeness results in each cycle. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model can improve students' learning activeness in IPAS learning. This improvement is evidenced by increased student participation in group discussions, collaboration in completing projects, courage in expressing opinions, and active involvement in all stages of the learning process. In Cycle I, students' learning activeness showed an improvement compared to the pre-action condition, while in Cycle II, students' learning activeness increased more significantly and met the predetermined success indicators. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is effective in improving the learning activeness of fifth-grade students in IPAS learning at UPT SD Negeri 009 Bangkinang.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the Student Facilitator and Explaining model and its improvement on the critical thinking skills of class V students of MI Baitul Haq. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles, each with two meetings. Data collection techniques are carried out through teacher observation, student observation, and critical thinking ability tests. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Student Facilitator and Explaining model can improve students' critical thinking skills, indicated by an increase in the average value and percentage of students' classical completion. In cycle II, the second meeting, the average student score reached 8% and classical completion reached 85%, which was previously only 64% with classical completion of 54% in the first meeting. It can be concluded that the Student Facilitator and Explaining model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in class V MI Baitul Haq.

Abstract

Social-emotional development in early childhood is an important aspect in shaping children’s behavior and personality that requires attention from an early age. Early childhood education environments play a strategic role in facilitating this development, particularly through teachers’ role modeling in daily interactions. This study aims to describe teacher role modeling as a strategy for strengthening the social-emotional development of early childhood learners at PAUD Al Barkah Rengasdengklok. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers and early childhood learners as research subjects. The findings indicate that teacher role modeling is reflected in polite communication, calm emotional regulation, consistent discipline, and guidance provided to children in resolving conflicts. Children demonstrated improvements in emotional regulation, social interaction, and responsibility through processes of observation and imitation of teachers’ behavior. Teacher role modeling creates a safe learning environment that supports children’s social-emotional development. The conclusion of this study indicates that teacher role modeling contributes to strengthening early childhood social-emotional development through everyday practices in the school environment.
