Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools still faces challenges due to the abstract nature of the material and students’ low level of engagement. This study aimed to develop an ethnomathematics-based Augmented Reality (AR) learning medium centered on Muaro Jambi Temple for teaching cubes and rectangular prisms to sixth-grade elementary students, as well as to describe its levels of validity and practicality. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The product was developed using the Assemblr Edu platform by integrating 3D visualizations of three-dimensional geometric objects with the cultural context of Muaro Jambi Temple. The research subjects included content experts, media experts, language experts, teachers, and students. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires. The results indicated that the ethnomathematics-based AR learning media were categorized as valid and practical for use in sixth-grade mathematics instruction. Therefore, this media is feasible to be used as an alternative contextual learning resource that supports the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

Parental engagement plays an important role in supporting children’s academic and emotional development. The emotional bond between parents and children serves as a fundamental basis for creating meaningful learning processes, particularly in home-based learning. This study aims to explore and analyze the processes and patterns of parental engagement in supporting children’s learning at home from a social capital perspective. The study employs social capital theory as an analytical framework and adopts a qualitative approach using a case study design. The research was conducted in six Islamic elementary schools (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah), namely, MIN 1 and MIN 5 in South Lampung Regency,. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data analysis followed the interactive model proposed by Miles and Huberman. The findings reveal that parental engagement in home-based learning is manifested through five main processes: accompanying children during learning activities, providing emotional and academic support, supervising the learning process, providing learning facilities, and assisting children in overcoming learning difficulties. These findings indicate that social capital, particularly within the family context, plays a significant role in sustaining home-based learning. This study provides empirical insights within the Indonesian context and recommends the development of a home-based social capital approach as an alternative analytical framework for future research on parental engagement in children’s education

Abstract

Elementary education plays an essential role in developing students’ language skills, particularly speaking ability. One of the speaking skills that should be emphasized at the elementary school level is storytelling. Based on preliminary observations conducted in Grade IV of SD Negeri 9 Tambakasri, approximately 50% of students had not achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) of 75 in storytelling skills. Students demonstrated low self-confidence, difficulty in organizing story sequences coherently, and inaccuracies in pronunciation, intonation, and expression. These problems were caused by the use of traditional teaching methods and the limited application of engaging learning media. This study aimed to improve the storytelling skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 9 Tambakasri through the implementation of the retelling story method assisted by hand puppet media. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in several cycles, consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The retelling story method allowed students to retell stories using their own words, while hand puppet media functioned as visual learning aids to enhance students’ interest, confidence, and understanding of story structure. The results of this study are expected to indicate improvements in students’ storytelling skills in terms of fluency, accuracy of pronunciation and intonation, vocabulary usage, expression, and self-confidence. Therefore, the retelling story method assisted by hand puppet media can be an effective and enjoyable alternative for improving storytelling skills in elementary school students.

Abstract

This research was prompted by the low initial reading skills of first-grade students at SDN 1 Ngingit due to conventional teaching methods. The study aims to enhance these skills through the "Pohon Aksara" (Alphabet Tree) media using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design by Kemmis & McTaggart. The subjects consisted of 28 students during the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through reading tests, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed a significant improvement: in the pre-cycle stage, only 21.43% of students were fluent readers; this increased to 42.86% in Cycle I and reached 82.14% in Cycle II. This success was driven by the use of varied visual media, an interactive approach, and individual mentoring, which boosted student enthusiasm and confidence. It is concluded that the "Pohon Aksara" media is effective and highly recommended as an innovative solution to strengthen early literacy in lower-grade elementary school classrooms.

Abstract

The Smart School era demands teachers to adapt to complex digital ecosystems, yet these requirements often overlook the essential aspect of educator well-being, which is vital for career sustainability. This article aims to explore the challenges to teacher well-being and the role of organizational responses in mitigating risks within the digital era. Utilizing a narrative literature review method, this study analyzes various scientific sources concerning technostress, digital burnout, and human resource management in educational institutions. The review findings indicate that technology integration, when not accompanied by adequate organizational support, triggers emotional exhaustion and diminishes teachers' intention to remain in the profession. It was found that teachers' occupational well-being is significantly influenced by school structures, digital workloads, and technology-related self-efficacy. In conclusion, organizational responses through empathetic digital leadership, continuous professional training, and policies that safeguard work-life balance are imperative to ensure teacher career sustainability in the future. Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of collaboration implemented by the Islamic Educational Guidance and Counseling Study Program (BKPI) in realizing independent student projects and to examine partner institutions’ perceptions regarding the opportunities and challenges faced by the BKPI Study Program. This research employed a mixed-methods approach, integrating qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative approach was used to explore the forms of collaboration and to analyze partner institutions’ perceptions of opportunities and challenges in implementing independent student projects. The quantitative approach was applied to measure the level of collaboration conducted by the BKPI Study Program in supporting independent student projects. Primary data were obtained from BKPI lecturers and students, while secondary data were collected from faculty leaders and institutional administrators. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. Qualitative data were analyzed inductively, while quantitative data were analyzed using percentage analysis. The results indicate that collaboration between the BKPI Study Program and schools in implementing independent student projects includes field practice, research activities, and field studies. Collaboration through field practice received 77 percent “strongly agree” and 20 percent “agree” responses. Collaboration through research obtained 70 percent “strongly agree” and 27 percent “agree.” Collaboration through field studies achieved 71 percent “strongly agree” and 28 percent “agree.” Partner institutions perceive that the BKPI Study Program has strong opportunities to realize independent student projects through employment prospects, the transfer of theoretical knowledge into professional practice, and exposure to clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. However, several challenges were identified, including the complexity of clients’ problems and the need for counselors to apply educational theories carefully within counseling practices to ensure professionalism, effectiveness, and ethical responsibility in diverse educational and social settings.

Abstract

Inclusive education has become a global priority to ensure equal access to quality education for children with special needs. However, its implementation in developing countries remains challenging, particularly for teachers who play a central role in inclusive classrooms. This study aims to systematically examine the challenges faced by teachers in implementing inclusive education for children with special needs in developing countries through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The review analyzed peer-reviewed national and international journal articles published between 2021 and 2025 and retrieved from academic databases relevant to inclusive education. The findings reveal that teachers encounter multidimensional challenges, including limited pedagogical competence, psychological burden, inadequate institutional support, policy–practice gaps, and socio-cultural barriers. These challenges are interrelated and reflect broader systemic issues within educational systems in developing countries. This study provides a comprehensive synthesis of recent evidence and offers insights for policymakers, educational institutions, and teacher education programs to strengthen inclusive education through systemic and sustainable approaches. Keywords: inclusive education, children with special needs, teacher challenges, developing countries, systematic literature review

Abstract

Based on the research findings, academic supervision at Markaz Al Zamil Al Ma’tuq is implemented systematically and continuously through teacher administrative supervision and classroom instructional supervision. Academic supervision functions not only as an evaluative activity but also as a form of professional development that contributes to the improvement of teachers’ pedagogical competence. Administrative supervision ensures the readiness of instructional planning, while classroom supervision directly supports the improvement of pedagogical practices. The implementation of supervision that is adjusted to the characteristics of different subjects reflects a contextual approach aligned with the academic culture of the Islamic boarding school. The tiered follow-up actions—ranging from professional coaching and repeated supervision to temporary teaching suspension—demonstrate the institution’s commitment to maintaining instructional quality and reinforcing teachers’ professional responsibility. Thus, academic supervision plays a strategic role in improving the quality of learning in the pesantren context. Strengthening a sustainable supervision system and fostering teachers’ openness to supervisory feedback are essential for the continuous development of pedagogical competence. Future studies are recommended to examine academic supervision using more diverse methodological approaches in order to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of its impact on the quality of education in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This study discusses the psychological analysis of the main character in the film "The Doors of Heaven" by Adis Kayl Yurahmah. The purpose of this study is to analyze the id in the psychology of the main character in the film "The Doors of Heaven" by Adis Kayl Yurahmah, to analyze the ego in the psychology of the main character in the film "The Doors of Heaven" by Adis Kayl Yurahmah, and to analyze the superego in the psychology of the main character in the film "The Doors of Heaven" by Adis Kayl Yurahmah. This research is qualitative using descriptive methods. The instrument used is the researcher herself and is supported by an analysis guide table that helps the researcher to summarize the data obtained. The data in this study are in the form of dialogue excerpts or sentences from the Psychological Analysis of the Main Character in the Film Pintu-Pintu Surga by Adis Kayl Yurahmah. The data collection technique used to obtain research data uses the technique of listening and taking notes. In this study, the researcher uses qualitative analysis techniques which mean data processing techniques used to understand complex phenomena. The steps in analyzing data are presenting the data to be analyzed, grouping data based on psychoanalytic theory through id, ego and superego. Based on the psychological analysis of the main character Latifah in the film Pintu-Pintu Surga by Adis Kayl Yurahmah using Sigmund Freud's theory, Latifah experiences clear personality changes: initially dominated by the Id with spontaneous emotional impulses such as being easily angered, selfish, and acting impulsively; then the Ego appears through self-control, rational thinking, acceptance of advice, and adaptation; until finally the Superego dominates with guilt, regret, prayer, apology, and commitment to morals, social norms, and religious values depicting the inner journey from an emotional person to a mature and moral one.
