Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of affective aspects in mathematics learning among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 36/VI Rantau Panjang. The background of this research is the significant role of the affective domain including attitudes, interest, motivation, and student responsibility in supporting meaningful and sustainable mathematics learning, as affective components are fundamental alongside cognitive and psychomotor domains in learning objectives. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Participants were fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 36/VI Rantau Panjang. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with the teacher, and affective assessment instruments based on established affective indicators. The data were analyzed descriptively to illustrate how affective aspects were applied in mathematics teaching and learning. The findings indicate that the implementation of affective aspects in mathematics learning was carried out through several instructional strategies, such as assigning group tasks, providing praise for positive student responses, and encouraging student self-reflection on their learning processes. However, challenges remain in consistently applying specific affective indicators, particularly in maintaining student motivation when confronting complex mathematical topics. In conclusion, the implementation of affective aspects in mathematics learning at SD Negeri 36/VI Rantau Panjang contributes to creating a more positive learning environment, but systematic strengthening of affective indicators is needed for further improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to build students’ self-confidence through public speaking activities conducted in religious speech programs at MAN 2 Kota Bengkulu. Self-confidence is an essential psychological aspect that supports students’ communication skills; however, many students still experience anxiety, fear, and low confidence when speaking in public. This research explores the implementation of public speaking through religious speech activities, identifies supporting and inhibiting factors, and analyzes their contribution to students’ self-confidence development. The study employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving guidance and counseling teachers, religious supervisors, subject teachers, and students. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that religious speech activities conducted regularly after the Dhuha prayer function as an effective experiential learning medium for public speaking practice. Students gradually demonstrated increased confidence, improved speaking fluency, better voice control, and more effective nonverbal communication. Teacher guidance, a supportive religious school environment, and structured scheduling emerged as key supporting factors, while internal anxiety and limited peer support were identified as inhibiting factors. Overall, the study concludes that building self-confidence through public speaking in religious speech activities positively enhances students’ communication skills and personal development.

Abstract

This study explores the tradition of Zikrul Ghofilin practiced with a specific procedural system at Pondok Pesantren Nurussalam, Tenggarong Seberang. This tradition is considered a collective effort to increase spiritual awareness, strengthen the inner state, and remind individuals who are spiritually heedless (al-ghofilin) to return to the remembrance of Allah. The purpose of this research is to identify, describe, and analyze the detailed procedures of the Zikrul Ghofilin practice carried out in the pesantren community. This study uses a qualitative field research approach, with primary data obtained through interviews with pesantren residents and participants of the ritual, as well as direct observation of its implementation. Secondary data were collected from relevant documents, books, and journal articles supporting the discussion. Data analysis was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method to interpret the ritual stages and their underlying meaning. The findings show that the practice of Zikrul Ghofilin at Pondok Pesantren Nurussalam is performed in two forms: (1) collective zikr conducted aloud (jahr), consisting of a sequence of activities including sunnah prayers, classical book recitation, tawassul, and the structured recitation of Zikrul Ghofilin; and (2) individual zikr performed silently (sirr) with specific hand placements on several spiritual points (lathāif) as a symbolic effort to purify the heart and strengthen spiritual consciousness. This study highlights that the tradition not only functions as religious practice but also as a form of living Qur’an manifestation within the local pesantren community.

Abstract

The 20th century was a crucial period in Southeast Asian history, marked by political transformation, colonialism, and the formation of nation-states that significantly impacted the position of Muslims as a minority group in Singapore, the Philippines, and Thailand. This study aims to comparatively analyze the historical, social, political, and educational dynamics of Muslim minorities in these three countries from the perspective of historical education studies. This study uses a qualitative method with a historical-comparative approach, utilizing secondary data in the form of history books, scientific journals, colonial archives, and relevant state policy documents. The research findings show that Islam in all three regions initially developed peacefully through trade, da'wah, and social relations, but experienced a shift in position due to colonialism and modern state policies. Singapore represents a model of state accommodation towards Muslim minorities through multicultural policies and the strengthening of religious institutions, the Philippines demonstrates historical marginalization that has triggered a prolonged conflict with the Moro community, while Thailand demonstrates identity pressure through national assimilation policies. The findings of this research confirm that the historical experiences of Muslim minorities are contextual and heavily influenced by state ideology and power relations. The implications of this research for history education are the importance of presenting minority narratives in an inclusive and comparative manner to foster multicultural awareness, tolerance, and critical thinking skills in students regarding the relationship between religion, state, and identity in Southeast Asia.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the forms of isti‘ārah found in Surah Al-Fajr and examine their interpretation based on Ali Ash-Shabuni’s Shafwatut Tafasir. In the book Shafwatut Tafasir, Ali Ash-Shabuni pays special attention to linguistic aspects (balaghah) to reveal the beauty and depth of the meaning of the Al-Qur'an. In examining the isti'arah in surah Al-Fajr Ali Ash-A-Shabuni tends to use the At-Taisir style, namely explaining complex balaghah terms in language that is easy to understand. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach. Primary data are derived from the Qur’an, specifically Surah Al-Fajr, and Ali Ash-Shabuni’s tafsir, while secondary data consist of books on balaghah, Qur’anic sciences, and relevant scholarly journal articles. Data collection techniques include documentation and content analysis. The findings indicate that Surah Al-Fajr contains various forms of isti‘ārah, both tashrihiyyah and makniyyah, which function to affirm Allah’s omnipotence, depict human psychological states, and reinforce moral and eschatological messages. As in the word Al-Fajr Ali Ash-Shabuni suggests that the word dawn is a symbol of the emergence of the light of Islam after the darkness of polytheism. Ali Ash-Shabuni’s interpretation highlights linguistic and contextual dimensions, enabling a comprehensive understanding of the metaphorical meanings embedded in Surah Al-Fajr.
