Abstract

Learning in schools is inextricably linked to facilities and infrastructure. This article examines strategies for optimizing the limited facilities and infrastructure at SD Negeri 1 Kebon Jeruk to improve the quality of learning processes and outcomes. Facilities and infrastructure are fundamental to the implementation of effective learning in elementary schools. Limited facilities and infrastructure remain a major obstacle to the implementation of learning in many elementary schools. The management of facilities and infrastructure is a crucial aspect of school management to help achieve educational goals. The research method used was descriptive qualitative through literature review, non-participatory observation, and analysis of school documents. Optimizing facilities and infrastructure has been shown to have a positive impact on learning effectiveness and student engagement. Therefore, good management of facilities and infrastructure can help schools achieve educational goals even under limited conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of the student management system to non-academic achievement at SD Negeri 1 Banjarnegeri, Tanggamus District, particularly in the Festival Lomba Seni dan Sastra Siswa Nasional (FLS3N). The school’s achievements in story writing, storytelling, and expressive drawing indicate the presence of an effective and well-structured student management system. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Informants included the principal, the vice principal for student affairs, FLS3N coaches, award-winning students, and parents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, and examined using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that structured planning, clear organizational roles, intensive coaching, adequate supporting facilities, and continuous monitoring and evaluation play a crucial role in improving non-academic coaching quality. The student management system significantly contributes to students’ achievements, as evidenced by their awards at the sub-district and district levels in three FLS3N competition categories. The study concludes that a comprehensive and consistent student management system is effective in optimizing students’ potential and enhancing non-academic achievements in primary schools. Abstract

This research aimed to determine the significant effect of elementary students’ beginning reading skill before and after the use of the AGEMARA application. The research employed a quantitative method with a “One Group Pretest–Posttest Design”. The research subjects were the grade II students of State Elementary School 2 Jobokuto (SD Negeri 2 Jobokuto). The data were collected through a beginner reading test to examine students’ beginning reading skills before and after the use of the media. The data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test to identify whether there was a significant difference before and after the use of the AGEMARA application. In addition, the N-Gain score test was conducted to analyze the improvement obtained by the students after using AGEMARA. The findings indicated a difference in the level of students’ beginning reading skills that were showed by the paired sample t-test result which showed a Sig value of 0.000 ≥ 0.10. Furthermore, an improvement in students’ beginning reading skills after the treatment using the AGEMARA application demonstrated by the N-Gain score of 0.18, if this value is viewed using the N-Gain Score classification category, the value obtained was 0.20 ≥ 0.2 and can be stated in the “Medium” category.

Abstract

The low level of students’ digital literacy in Akidah Akhlak learning remains a challenge, particularly due to the dominance of traditional lecture-based instruction. This study aimed to enhance students’ digital literacy through the implementation of the Wordwall game as a learning medium in Grade VIII Akidah Akhlak at SMP Namira, Probolinggo City. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The research subjects consisted of 30 students, divided into 15 students in the experimental class and 15 students in the control class, selected based on their level of understanding of the concepts of honesty and trustworthiness. The research was conducted from October 18 to 22, 2025. Data were collected through pretests and posttests, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the average score of the experimental class increased from 54.6 to 67.3, while the control class experienced only a relatively low improvement. These findings indicate that the use of the Wordwall game is effective in improving students’ digital literacy and fostering more active and meaningful learning.

Abstract

Genetic regulation of plant development involves a complex network of transcription factors, microRNAs, epigenetic modifications, and hormonal signals that together determine growth patterns, differentiation, and environmental responses. This review synthesizes findings from five recent (2019–2025) journal articles highlighting roles of key transcription factors, miRNAs, epigenetic mechanisms, and hormonal interplay in controlling root, leaf, and vegetative-to-reproductive transitions. We performed a systematic literature search on databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Google Scholar) using targeted keywords and selected five representative reviews and studies. Results indicate multilayered integration: (1) transcription factors act as central regulatory nodes; (2) miRNAs fine-tune developmental transitions by regulating target transcripts; (3) epigenetic marks set dynamic chromatin states; and (4) hormone crosstalk aligns environmental cues with genetic programs. CRISPR-based genome editing provides tools for functional dissection and crop improvement. In conclusion, an integrative understanding of genetic regulation offers pathways for targeted interventions to develop more adaptive, productive plant varieties.

Abstract

This study examines the perceptions of fifth-grade students in Maulafa Subdistrict, Sikumana Village, Kupang City regarding homework within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes autonomy, meaningful learning, and student-centered instruction. Employing a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews involving five students and two classroom teacher. The findings indicate that students generally perceive homework as instrumental in strengthening conceptual understanding and maintaining learning continuity outside school hours. However, certain subjects particularly mathematics are identified as sources of difficulty, whereas language-related assignments are considered more manageable and engaging. Students also demonstrate a preference for homework that involves written tasks, book-based responses, and collaborative work, reflecting alignment with the curriculum’s emphasis on learning independence and social learning. The teacher’s perspective further supports the relevance of homework, provided that assignments remain proportional, clear, and directly connected to classroom instruction. The study concludes that homework retains pedagogical significance in the Merdeka Curriculum era, although its design requires careful calibration to ensure it remains supportive, non-burdensome, and conducive to fostering student motivation and responsibility.

Abstract

The assessment aims to demonstrate the level of competency mastery of students and the effectiveness of the learning methods applied by educators. Based on interviews conducted with Indonesian language teachers of eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Sumbang, it was found that the level of student achievement of the minimum passing grade (KKM) in the Final Year Assessment was still relatively low. The quality of the questions greatly determines the effectiveness of assessing student competency. This study aims to analyze the quality of the final assessment questions for the Indonesian language subject for eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Sumbang for the 2024/2025 academic year. This study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The research object consisted of 45 PAT questions with a sample of 144 students. Data were obtained through documentation techniques and analyzed using a classical test theory approach assisted by the Anates application. The analysis focused on the aspects of validity, reliability, difficulty level, discriminating power, and effectiveness of distractors. The results showed that the quality of PAT items still varied and did not fully meet the criteria for a quality assessment instrument. Some items were not valid, the test reliability coefficient was low, the difficulty level distribution was not balanced, the discriminating power of some items was still weak, and most distractors did not function optimally.
