Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of the gamification-based Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model on students' understanding of physics concepts at MAN 4 Pidie. The main problem behind this study is the low level of student engagement and procedural understanding of concepts in physics subjects. The research method used is a quasi-experimental with a Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of 60 students divided into an experimental class (n = 30) and a control class (n = 30). The research instrument used a concept understanding test in the form of validated reasoned multiple-choice questions. The results of data analysis showed that the average post-test score of the experimental class reached 86.4, significantly higher than the control class of 70.2. Hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample T-Test produced a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), which means there was a real effect of the treatment given. The improvement in student abilities in the experimental class was in the High category with an N-Gain value of 0.76, while the control class was in the medium category (0.48). The integration of gamification elements such as a point system and leaderboard was proven to be effective in increasing intrinsic motivation and retention of students' conceptual understanding. The conclusion of this study is that the gamification-based SSCS model is very effective in improving the quality of physics learning at the Madrasah Aliyah level.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the impact of TikTok social media usage on the politeness character of elementary school students. The rapid development of digital technology has made social media, especially TikTok, widely used by children, which can influence their behavior and character. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach conducted at SDN Sidorejo 02, Bendosari District, Sukoharjo Regency. The subjects of this study included the principal, teachers, and fifth-grade students selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and validated using triangulation techniques. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that TikTok usage has both positive and negative impacts on students’ politeness character. The positive impacts include increased self-confidence and better self-expression in social interactions. However, the negative impacts include the use of impolite language, decreased respect towards teachers and parents, and the tendency to imitate inappropriate behaviors from online content. These findings indicate that social media plays a significant role in shaping students’ character, thus requiring proper supervision and guidance from parents and teachers. Therefore, it is important to direct the use of TikTok wisely in order to support positive character development among students.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the problrm of low student concentration during civics learning, which tenden to be passive and lacked active student involment in the learing process. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the jigsaw cooperative learing model on student concentration in civics in third grade students at SDN Kedaung 1. This stude used a qualitative approach whith descriptive methods. The subjects were selected using a purposive sampling technique: a classroom teacher and three third grade students at SDN Kedaung 1. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data collection, data redaction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the implementation of the jigsaw cooperative learning model was carried out through five stages: forming home groups and expert groups, dividing tasks and delivering material to home groups, expert group discussions, delivering material to home groups, presenting discussion results, and administering a quiz. Each stage in this model contributes to students’ learning concentration, including cognitive (understanding and remembering material), affective (interest and attention), psychomotor (directed physical activity), and language (communicating and listening skills). The jigsaw model fosters individual responsibility and teamwork, enabling students to be more focused, active, and enthusiastic in participating in learing. Therefore, it can be concluded that implementing the jigsaw cooperative learing model effectively improves students’ learning concentration in civis (PKN) and is highly relevant for elementary school to create a participatory and meaningful learning environment.

Abstract

The limited supply of clean water in urban areas necessitates the development of efficient and sustainable alternative solutions. Rainwater harvesting is a promising approach to reduce dependence on conventional clean water sources in multi-story buildings. This study aims to assess the potential of rainwater haversting as a substitute for non-potable water needs in multi-stoty office buildings in urban areas. The methods employed include ten year rainfall data analysis (2013-2023), effective rooftop area calculation, storage volume situation, and building water demand analysis. The result indicate that with an effective roof area of 1.200 m2 and an avarge annual rainfall of 2.100 mm, the rainwater haversting system can fulfill 42-67% of non-potable water demands, primarily for toilet flushing, garden irrigation, and fire supression. Economic analysis reveals a payback period of 6 year 8 month with annual water cost savings of IDR 18.400.000,00. This research contributes of the development of green buildings and water conservation in urban environments.

Abstract

The library is one of the key facilities in the student learning process that requires an adequate physical environment, particularly regarding noise levels and lighting intensity. This study aims to analyze the suitability of noise levels and lighting intensity in the library of an elementary school in Malang City based on applicable quality standards. Measurements were taken at 30 observation points at 20-minute intervals, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, using a sound level meter and a lux meter. The reference standards used were SNI 03-6386-2000 for noise levels (≤55 dBA for reading rooms) and SNI 03-6197-2000 for lighting intensity (≥300 lux for library reading rooms). The analysis results showed that most measurement points did not meet the minimum lighting standards, while most noise levels exceeded the permissible thresholds. This study provides recommendations for improvement, including the addition of artificial light sources and the use of sound-absorbing materials to enhance the comfort of the library reading room.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the deep learning approach in developing critical thinking skills of fifth-grade stud1ents at Mertan 03 Elementary School and identify obstacles faced in science learning. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results show that the application of deep learning through the Problem Based Learning and Project Based Learning models can encourage students to actively analyze, discuss, and relate concepts to everyday life. However, there are obstacles in the form of differences in learning readiness, low student self-confidence, and limited learning time. Overall, this approach is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is how to apply the Learning Cell learning model in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subject for class XI.3 at SMA Negeri 4 Makassar, and how the model can improve student learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the form of application of the Learning Cell learning model in improving student learning outcomes in the PAI subject. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out in two cycles. The subjects of this study were 32 class XI.3 students, consisting of 17 males and 15 females. The research instruments used included observation sheets to observe teacher and student activities during the learning process, as well as evaluation tests in the form of pre-tests and post-tests to measure learning outcomes before and after the action. The results showed that the application of the Learning Cell learning model was able to significantly improve student learning outcomes. In cycle I, the percentage of student learning completion reached 56.25% with an average score of 67.84%. Although there was an increase compared to the pre-cycle, the results had not yet reached the established success indicators. After improvements were made in cycle II, student learning outcomes improved significantly, with a completion rate of 87.5% and an average score of 86.56%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of The Learning Cell learning model is effective in improving student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education. Furthermore, this model is also able to increase student activeness, participation, and learning readiness in participating in the classroom learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of eco-theological values through the use of madrasah gardens as a learning medium at MIN 1 Kulon Progo. This study responds to the demands of 21st-century education, which not only emphasizes the development of cognitive aspects and digital literacy but also the formation of character, ecological awareness, and spiritual responsibility of students. Ecotheological studies in Islamic education have so far been dominated by normative and conceptual approaches, thus requiring empirical studies that reveal their implementation in educational practices in madrasahs. The madrasah garden in this study is conceptualized as a living laboratory that integrates science learning, the formation of ecological attitudes, and the contextual internalization of faith values in daily activities. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects include madrasah principals, teachers, and students involved in the management and utilization of madrasah gardens. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, then analyzed thematically through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the madrasah garden not only functions as a means of practicing plant cultivation, but also as a medium for internalizing the values of monotheism, trust, responsibility, and care for Allah's creation. This integration results in a concrete, contextual, and transformative learning experience for students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe parenting styles in fostering independence among children aged 4-5 years at TK Negeri Pembina Lembursitu, Sukabumi City. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design to obtain an in-depth understanding of parenting practices implemented by parents and their influence on children’s independence development. The research subjects consisted of the school principal, classroom teachers, and parents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that children’s independence is developed through consistent habituation processes within both family and school environments. Democratic parenting style was found to be more effective in fostering children's independence as it provides opportunities for children to perform activities independently while still receiving guidance from parents. In contrast, authoritarian and permissive parenting styles tend to be less effective in supporting the development of children's independence. Furthermore, collaboration between parents and schools plays a significant role in strengthening the development of independent character in early childhood. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the importance of appropriate parenting practices as a foundation for developing children's independence in early childhood education.

Abstract

Sharia financial literacy refers to an individual's ability to understand, manage, and utilize financial products based on Islamic principles. Low literacy levels hinder optimal utilization of Islamic financial services. This study aims to analyze the contribution of KSPPS BMT Ibaadurrahman in improving members’ sharia financial literacy. This study employed a quantitative survey method with 60 respondents selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Analysis techniques included validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, simple linear regression, t-test, and coefficient of determination. The results show a positive and significant effect of BMT contribution on sharia financial literacy. The regression equation is Y = 10.52 + 0.68X, with a correlation coefficient of 0.79 and R² of 0.62. This finding highlights the strategic role of Islamic microfinance institutions in enhancing financial literacy and inclusion.
