Abstract

This study endeavors to delineate the principles of humanistic learning theory as applied to the implementation of novel pedagogical approaches in primary education. The methodology employed herein is that of a literature review, with data procured from a diverse array of resources, including physical libraries and various online platforms.The selected materials encompass books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, scholarly journals, official documents, periodicals, and other relevant publications. Data collection was accomplished through the utilization of documentary techniques. Subsequently, content analysis was applied as the method for data scrutiny. The findings of this investigation suggest that innovative learning constitutes an educational framework developed by educators through novel methodologies. This innovative design aims to assist students in constructing knowledge and facilitating behavioral modification. Humanistic learning theory serves to enhance students' engagement with subject matter, thereby fostering the development of their inherent capabilities towards improvement. Consequently, humanistic learning theory is applicable to the execution of innovative learning strategies within elementary school settings. This theory underscores the significance of guided instruction, cultivating and directing students' fundamental potential across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains.

Abstract

This study aims to examine data-driven educational leadership strategies in improving the quality of education financing management in madrasah. The research employs a qualitative approach using library research by analyzing relevant literature from scientific journals, books, and international institutional reports. The findings reveal that data-driven educational leadership plays a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness, efficiency, transparency, and accountability of financial management in educational institutions. Through the utilization of data, educational leaders, particularly madrasah principals, are able to formulate more targeted budgeting policies, prioritize resource allocation based on actual needs, and conduct measurable, indicator-based evaluations. However, the implementation of data-driven leadership strategies in education financing management still faces several challenges, especially in newly established and Islamic-based educational institutions such as madrasah. These challenges include limited human resources with data literacy skills, low technological capacity, and inadequate financial information system infrastructure. In addition, organizational culture that is not yet adaptive to data-based decision-making also becomes a significant barrier. Therefore, adaptive and strategic leadership efforts are required, including strengthening human resource capacity, gradually developing technology-based financial systems, and fostering a data-driven organizational culture. Moreover, the integration of Islamic values such as transparency, accountability, and trustworthiness (amanah) becomes an essential foundation in implementing data-driven leadership in madrasah. Thus, data-driven educational leadership in financing management can serve as a strategic approach to sustainably improve the quality of financial governance and overall educational quality in madrasah.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of teacher discipline on students’ deviant behavior at SDN Ogogili, Dondo District, Toli Toli Regency. The problem addressed in this research is the occurrence of student deviant behaviors such as tardiness, rule violations, and lack of engagement in learning, which are assumed to be related to the level of teacher discipline. The objective of this study is to determine whether teacher discipline significantly affects students’ deviant behavior. This research employs a quantitative approach with a causal associative design using an ex post facto method. The sample consisted of 39 students selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and observations, and analyzed using simple linear regression, t-test, and coefficient of determination (R²). The results show that teacher discipline has a significant effect on students’ deviant behavior, with a t-value of 3.824 greater than the t-table value of 1.687 and a significance level of 0.000 (<0.05). The regression equation (Y = 45.335 − 0.454X) indicates a negative relationship, meaning that higher teacher discipline leads to lower levels of deviant behavior. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.282 suggests that 28.2% of students’ deviant behavior is influenced by teacher discipline, while the remaining 71.8% is affected by other factors. Thus, improving teacher discipline is essential in minimizing deviant behavior and fostering a positive learning environment.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of YouTube-based learning media on elementary school students’ motivation in Social Studies learning and its role in supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, particularly quality education. The problem addressed in this research is the low learning motivation caused by conventional teaching methods that are less engaging for digital-native students. The objective of this study is to analyze how YouTube videos as learning media can enhance students’ motivation and contribute to improving the quality of education. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using library research methodology, which involves analyzing relevant literature such as books, journal articles, and online sources. The findings indicate that YouTube-based learning media significantly improve students’ motivation by increasing their interest, attention, and active participation through audio-visual content. Additionally, the use of video media helps present abstract Social Studies material in a more concrete and understandable way. Furthermore, integrating YouTube into the learning process supports the development of 21st-century skills and promotes more innovative, flexible, and meaningful learning experiences. Therefore, YouTube-based learning media can serve as an effective alternative to enhance learning motivation and contribute to achieving quality education in line with SDGs 4.

Abstract

This study arises from the observation that the affective aspect in elementary Social Studies (IPS) learning, especially students’ social awareness, has not been optimally developed because teaching practices still focus more on cognitive outcomes and less on the internalization of social values. The purpose of this research is to examine how students’ social awareness can be improved through strengthening character values using a Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach, particularly in the topic of Indonesian national resistance for sixth-grade students. The study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method guided by the PRISMA framework, which involves stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. Data were obtained by searching for relevant scientific articles on Google Scholar, from which 15 articles were selected based on predetermined criteria for further analysis. The results show that the use of the PBL model is effective in increasing students’ social awareness, mainly through activities such as problem solving, group discussions, and reflection. In addition, embedding character values within the material on national resistance helps build students’ empathy, teamwork, and responsibility. Overall, the application of PBL in Social Studies learning is effective in supporting the development of both cognitive skills and affective qualities in students.

Abstract

Students' critical thinking abilities are greatly enhanced by Social Studies (IPS) education in elementary schools, particularly when it comes to comprehending historical occurrences like Western colonization in Indonesia. However, critical thinking abilities have not fully developed because IPS instruction is still mostly teacher-centered and does not adequately connect the course material to students' real-life experiences. A learning model like the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) paradigm is required to make the connection between the course material and students' real-world experiences. Finding out how the CTL learning paradigm might improve sixth-grade students' critical thinking abilities while they study Western colonization in Indonesia is the aim of this study. A literature review that looks at numerous pertinent scientific publications is the methodology employed. It has been demonstrated that by actively including students in the contextual learning process, the CTL approach improves conceptual understanding, critical thinking abilities, and student engagement. As a result, the CTL model may be a useful substitute for raising the standard of social studies instruction in elementary schools, especially with regard to the growth of pupils' critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

Social Studies (IPS) learning in elementary schools plays an important role in helping students develop 21st-century skills. This is especially evident in globalization topics, which are closely related to social change, technological development, and international relations. This study aims to examine how Social Studies learning can support the development of 21st-century skills among sixth-grade elementary school students, including critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. This research employs a literature review method by analyzing various scientific journals discussing Social Studies learning, globalization materials, and 21st-century skills. The findings indicate that 21st-century skills can be developed through the use of innovative learning models, such as Project-Based Learning, Problem-Based Learning, the integration of digital technology, and the use of interactive learning media. In addition, learning activities involving digital literacy, discussions, and problem-solving can enhance students’ critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills. Therefore, Social Studies learning on globalization topics can be an effective approach to developing 21st-century skills in elementary school students, particularly when implemented through engaging, active, and student-centered learning strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of vertical hair perming procedures and to identify the obstacles encountered in practice at Tupadear Salon. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews and direct observation. The subject of the study is a professional salon assistant who has experience in performing vertical hair perming. The results show that the vertical perming procedure consists of several stages, including hair condition analysis, preparation, sectioning, vertical rolling, chemical application, two-stage drying process, neutralization, and finishing. The drying process takes approximately 60–90 minutes. The success of the perm is highly influenced by hair condition, where virgin hair produces more optimal curls compared to chemically treated hair such as smoothed or colored hair. The vertical perming technique has advantages in terms of faster working time and more natural-looking curls. However, the main obstacle found is damaged or unhealthy hair, which leads to less optimal results. Therefore, proper hair analysis and post-perming treatment are essential factors in achieving successful outcomes.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of instilling religious values in students to shape individuals who are faithful and possess noble character. However, in practice, there are still students who lack discipline in performing religious activities and have not fully applied religious values in their daily lives. Therefore, effective efforts are needed through Islamic activities in schools. This study aims to determine the implementation of Islamic activities in instilling religious values in students at UPT SPF SDN 57 Oro Gading, Bulukumba Regency. The type of research used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research subjects include the principal, teachers, and students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through triangulation. The results show that Islamic activities such as Duha prayer and congregational Zuhr prayer have been carried out routinely and have a positive impact on instilling students’ religious values. This is indicated by increased awareness in worship, discipline, responsibility, and better behavior. In addition, there are supporting factors such as a conducive school environment and adequate facilities, as well as inhibiting factors such as external environmental influences and student social interactions. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of Islamic activities is effective in instilling religious values in students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how character formation fosters nationalism among senior high school students in Davao City, Philippines. Specifically, it explores the integration of national values within the formal curriculum, the role of school rituals and symbolic practices, the influence of teacher modeling, and the development of student agency in a multicultural context. The research employed a qualitative multiple-case study design involving 33 participants, including 24 students, 6 teachers, and 3 school administrators. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, classroom observations, and document analysis, and were analyzed using thematic analysis.The findings reveal that nationalism is fostered through the systematic integration of civic values in classroom instruction, reinforced by school rituals such as flag ceremonies and national commemorations. Teacher modeling and democratic classroom climate significantly influence students’ internalization of national values. Moreover, students demonstrate inclusive and critical forms of nationalism, particularly when engaged in participatory civic activities. However, challenges such as routine-based rituals and academic pressures may limit deeper reflection.The study concludes that effective character formation requires reflective pedagogy, inclusive practices, and meaningful civic engagement to cultivate responsible and participatory nationalism. It is recommended that schools strengthen dialogical teaching approaches and integrate experiential civic activities to enhance national identity formation.
