Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving ability is a core competency that students must master in the 21st century. However, field realities show that this ability remains low due to mathematics instruction that tends to be procedural and lacks contextual relevance. This study aims to analyze in depth the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The study examined 12 scientific articles published between 2018 and 2026 from various accredited national journals and seminar proceedings. Articles were selected based on strict inclusion and exclusion criteria, then extracted and analyzed using narrative synthesis and thematic analysis. The PRISMA principle was applied to ensure transparency and replicability of the review process. The SLR results indicate that the RME approach consistently exerts a positive influence on improving students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities across elementary, junior high, and senior high school levels. Thirteen out of 14 articles reported significant results with moderate to high improvement. Variations of the intervention, such as RME supported by interactive technology, learning media, and ethnomathematics, further strengthened the effectiveness of the approach. Only one study found no statistically significant difference. This study concludes that RME is an effective and relevant teaching approach that can be widely implemented in Indonesia. The findings are expected to serve as practical recommendations for teachers, curriculum developers, and researchers to enhance the quality of mathematics education in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ errors in solving mathematical word problems based on Newman’s error analysis through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Mathematics learning, particularly in word problems, requires not only computational skills but also the ability to understand, interpret, and transform problems into mathematical models. However, many students still experience difficulties, which are reflected in various types of errors. This study employed a systematic literature review method by collecting articles published between 2022 and 2026 using relevant keywords from Google Scholar. From 1,190 identified articles, 25 were selected, and 10 articles were finally analyzed in depth. The results show that students’ errors occur across all Newman stages, namely reading, comprehension, transformation, process skills, and encoding. The most dominant error is encoding error (45.50%), followed by process skills error (40.76%), comprehension error (34.70%), and transformation error (28.30%), while reading error is the lowest (12.65%). These findings indicate that students’ main difficulties lie not in reading the problems but in the problem-solving process and presenting final answers. The errors are influenced by limited conceptual understanding, lack of accuracy, and insufficient practice in expressing final conclusions. Therefore, improving mathematical literacy, conceptual understanding, and structured problem-solving skills is essential to minimize students’ errors in solving word problems.

Abstract

The current trend toward modern minimalist architecture in Indonesia often leads to the erosion of local values and the loss of cultural relevance in contemporary buildings. This phenomenon poses significant challenges for mixed-use building typologies such as Small Office Home Office (SOHO) spaces, particularly regarding the organization of circulation patterns and the protection of privacy between professional and domestic spheres. This study aims to evaluate the use of a detached Joglo structure as both a reception area and a privacy screen for the upper-floor residence. Through a descriptive qualitative case study method, this research analyzes design technical documents using spatial syntax, mass morphology, and user movement analysis. The analysis reveals that the integration of the standalone Joglo structure effectively creates a buffer zone that enhances spatial organization, thereby maintaining residents’ privacy without hindering office operations on the ground floor. This optimization of privacy management is achieved through contrasting vertical zoning and path engineering to minimize user cross-circulation. This research concludes that the application of neo-vernacular principles to the Joglo offers an adaptive design solution to the constraints of urban land, while maintaining a balance between cultural identity, commercial function, and residential comfort.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing Nature-Based Learning in improving early childhood cognitive development from an Islamic education perspective at Taman Penitipan Anak (TPA) Perwari Pacitan. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group design. The subjects consisted of 12 children divided into two groups: the experimental group (A1) and the control group (A2), each consisting of 6 children. The research instrument was an observation sheet assessing cognitive development, including classification ability, problem-solving, concept understanding, and cause-effect reasoning. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with a t-test. The results showed that the average improvement in the experimental group was 8.3, higher than the control group at 3.8. The t-test result indicated a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), meaning there was a significant difference between the two groups. From an Islamic perspective, Nature-Based Learning also fosters spiritual awareness through reflection (tafakkur) and contemplation (tadabbur) of Allah’s creation. Therefore, Nature-Based Learning is effective in enhancing early childhood cognitive development holistically.

Abstract

The emergence of Generative AI (GenAI) has the potential to disrupt primary education, yet teachers' readiness to adopt it remains fragmented. This study aims to synthesize literature regarding the adoption of GenAI by primary school teachers by developing an integrated conceptual framework based on Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted following the PRISMA guidelines. Through a search across Scopus, Lens.org, and Semantic Scholar databases, an initial 194 articles were rigorously screened down to 26 final articles. The review reveals that teachers' adoption intentions are strongly driven by perceived usefulness and ease of use (TAM), particularly for instructional design efficiency. However, the quality of pedagogical integration heavily relies on teachers' TPACK proficiency to avoid passive acceptance and AI information bias. Practical implementation is hindered by digital infrastructure divides, low AI literacy, and ethical concerns regarding privacy and students' cognitive overreliance. This study proposes a conceptual framework where TPACK acts as a foundational prerequisite and TAM as a behavioral catalyst, strictly moderated by facilitating conditions and regulations. In conclusion, GenAI adoption demands a redefinition of the teacher's role from an information provider to a critical content curator and value mediator in the classroom.

Abstract

Inclusive education policies in Jakarta have been regulated, but their implementation in the field still faces challenges. Problems in implementing inclusive education in schools include limited understanding among educators, a lack of accessible facilities, and a lack of special assistant teachers. This study aims to analyze the implementation of inclusive education for students with special needs at public elementary schools in West Jakarta. The UNS Inclusion Metric was used as a reference in analyzing the implementation of inclusive education for students with special needs in schools. This study was conducted in three schools, namely SDN Kapuk 15 Pagi, SDN Kapuk 01 Pagi, and SDN Kapuk 12 Petang, using a mixed method approach through the distribution of attitude assessment instruments as well as observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the attitudes of school members towards inclusive education were in the fairly good category, with an average score of 29.75 out of 36, which indicates a positive attitude towards students with special needs. However, the implementation of inclusive education has not been optimal. The LED results revealed limitations in institutional aspects, a lack of GPK, the unavailability of SOPs for inclusive learning, a lack of psychological services, and the unavailability of accessible facilities. Overall, the school has an attitude that supports inclusion, but it is necessary to strengthen teacher competencies, provide support services, and improve policies and infrastructure so that inclusive education can be implemented effectively and sustainably.
