Abstract

This research is survey research intended to find out and describe the development of learning decimal numbers and percents in class IV of SD Negeri 1 Sidetapa, Buleleng district. This research was conducted in class IV at SD Negeri 1 Sidetapa with a total of 26 students. Data analysis uses parameter estimation to see the development of learning decimal numbers and percents. In this case, research regarding designing the development of learning decimal numbers and percents uses survey research which aims to deepen the development of students at SD Negeri 1 Sidetapa, especially class IV, regarding this material. The results of the research show that in general the ability to understand decimal numbers in class IV students at SD Negeri 1 Sidetapa needs to be improved further. Because there are still many students who don't really understand the information and get grades that are below average. The low level of students' understanding of decimal numbers and percentages can be seen from the results of the students' work in the attached picture and in the list of values listed. Most students have not been able to solve problems or carry out operations of adding decimals and percents well. There are still many students who focus on ordinary addition and do not use the concept of decimal numbers and percent. It is hoped that teaching staff will design learning well, whether from learning media or other things that can support learning well and can be accepted by students correctly and without misconceptions. There are only 27% of 100 students in the high category. There are only 35% of students in the medium category. And students in the low category reached 38%. Where in this case students in the low category in mathematics are quite high at SD Negeri 1 Sidetapa, especially in class IV.

Abstract

The increasing use of gadgets among students is causing various negative impacts, which poses a challenge for Civics and Citizenship Education teachers in addressing this issue. This study aims to determine the role of PPKn teachers as role models in addressing gadget addiction among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 024 Sihonongan. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was then conducted using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that PPKn teachers at SMP Negeri 024 Sihonongan play a crucial role in addressing the problem of gadget use among students, manifested through their roles as role models, inspirators, motivators, dynamic facilitators, and evaluators. Factors influencing gadget addiction include internal factors, such as students' low self-control and the desire for instant gratification through social media, as well as external factors such as peer influence and lack of parental supervision at home. However, the active role of teachers and school support can offset these negative influences, enabling students to maintain a positive attitude toward using technology in today's digital age.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the high intensity of social media use among Generation Z, which is not always matched by digital literacy skills or the internalization of Pancasila values. This situation has the potential to cause various problems, such as the spread of hoaxes, impolite communication behavior, and the weakening of national resilience in the socio-cultural and ideological dimensions. The objectives of this study are to analyze students’ social media behavior, examine the implementation of Pancasila values in digital activities, and identify their contribution to strengthening national resilience. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method at SMP Negeri 2 Ngantang. The research subjects include students, Pancasila Education teachers, Guidance and Counseling teachers, and the school principal. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis utilizes the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The research findings indicate that social media behavior can be divided into positive and negative behaviors. Positive behaviors include using social media as a means of communication, sharing educational information, and expressing creativity. However, negative behaviors such as spreading unverified information, using inappropriate language, and engaging in cyberbullying are still prevalent. The implementation of Pancasila values remains partial and suboptimal. Therefore, strengthening Pancasila-based digital literacy is necessary to shape a generation of youth with strong character and to reinforce national resilience. These efforts can be achieved through the integration of character education into the curriculum, fostering digital ethics, and collaborative oversight between schools and parents. Consequently, students are expected to use social media wisely, critically, and responsibly, thereby contributing to the creation of an ethical digital society and a strong, sustainable national resilience capable of facing the global challenges of the current digital era.

Abstract

The early years of a child's life are a window of opportunity that opens only once. Between the ages of 0 and 6, children do not merely grow they construct the very foundation of their social lives. Yet, the reality observed in early childhood classrooms suggests that meaningful opportunities for children to learn love and empathy are increasingly displaced by digital screens. This study responds to that concern by asking: how might we design a medium that transforms the value of compassion into an experience that children can touch, feel, and make their own? Using a 4D developmental research model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), this study produced an Interactive Pop-Up Book titled "Aku Sayang Teman" (I Love My Friends) a three-dimensional book with 13 pages of interactive activities deliberately crafted to nurture affection, empathy, and care for peers across all differences. The media's feasibility was assessed by two content experts, two media experts, and two early childhood practitioners using a 1 - 5 rating scale instrument. Findings reveal a content validity score of 90%, media validity of 90%, and practitioner practicality rating of 95% all classified as Excellent. The media is declared ready for classroom implementation as a tangible alternative for character education in early childhood institutions.

Abstract

This study was grounded in the problems encountered by eighth-grade students in comprehending narrative texts. These problems included difficulties in making predictions, limited vocabulary mastery, and low learning motivation, which consequently led to passive reading and the lack of activation of prior knowledge. Such conditions highlighted the need for an appropriate instructional strategy; therefore, the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy was implemented to promote active reading, prediction, and critical thinking. This study aimed to determine the effect of the DRTA strategy on students’ reading comprehension. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was employed. The population was all eighth-grade students of MTsN 9 Padang Pariaman, and the sample was determined by using cluster random sampling. The instrument was a reading comprehension test in the form of multiple-choice questions administered in pre-test and post-test. The results showed that the DRTA strategy had a significant effect on students’ reading comprehension, as students taught using DRTA achieved better results than those taught using conventional methods. In addition, the implementation of DRTA increased students’ participation, motivation, and engagement in the learning process.
