Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of TikTok social media usage on the learning concentration of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 165 Palembang. This study uses a quantitative approach with an ex post facto research type. The sample in this study amounted to 20 students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The research instrument used a Likert scale of 1–4 which has been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis technique used was simple linear regression with prerequisite tests in the form of normality and linearity tests. The results showed that all instruments were declared valid and reliable with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.926. The research data were also normally distributed and had a linear relationship. The results of the regression analysis showed that there was a significant effect between TikTok social media usage on student learning concentration, as indicated by a significance value smaller than 0.05. The direction of the resulting effect tended to be negative, which means that the higher the intensity of TikTok use, the lower the student's learning concentration. Based on these results, it can be concluded that TikTok social media usage affects student learning concentration. Therefore, supervision and control of social media usage are needed to prevent negative impacts on the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the principal’s supervisory competence in enhancing teachers’ continuous professional development (CPD) at SD Negeri 1 Bati-bati. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects included the principal and teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the implementation of supervisory competence covers planning, implementation, feedback, and follow-up integrated with CPD. The supervision process is carried out through a combination of planned and unannounced supervision to obtain authentic classroom practices. Feedback is provided constructively and followed by clinical supervision as a form of professional guidance. In addition, supervision is integrated with CPD through training rotation, documentation, and dissemination of training outcomes. However, several challenges remain, such as the lack of structured follow-up and limited technological competence among some teachers. This study concludes that the principal’s supervisory competence plays a significant role in improving teachers’ professional development sustainably.

Abstract

This study examines the correlation between students’ reading habits and their reading comprehension at Madrasah Aliyah At-Tahzib. The problem addressed is students’ low reading comprehension, which is influenced by limited reading practice, lack of vocabulary, and low motivation in reading activities. This study aims to determine whether there is a significant correlation between reading habits and reading comprehension among eleventh grade students. This research employed a quantitative correlational design with an ex post facto approach. Data were collected using a reading habits questionnaire and a reading comprehension test, and were analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation. The results showed a correlation coefficient of r = .399 with a significance value of .006, indicating a positive and significant correlation between reading habits and reading comprehension, although the level of correlation is considered low.

Abstract

Educational game-based learning media is an innovation in education that raises the bar for science instruction in elementary schools by fusing entertaining and educational elements. This study aims to assess how educational game-based learning resources affect primary school students' scientific learning results. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), and the data comes from Google Scholar. The literature search process involved several steps: the first stage produced 361,000 documents using the keyword "Learning Media"; the second stage added the keyword "Educational Game" and produced 16,300 documents; the third stage added the keyword "Science" and produced 7,340 documents; and the fourth stage added the keyword "in elementary school" and produced 2,490 documents. Filtering according to inclusion criteria also yielded seven relevant papers for further examination. The results of the study demonstrate that the use of instructional game-based learning resources considerably and favorably enhances primary school students' scientific learning outcomes. In addition to improving science literacy, these media can increase learning motivation, active student participation, and learning interest. The development of 21st-century skills like problem-solving, creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork is also aided by the use of educational games. Therefore, educational game-based learning resources can be an innovative and effective strategy to improve the quality of science education in elementary schools.

Abstract

In the era of modern educational development, understanding the green economy has become an essential competency that students need to support sustainable development. This study aims to analyze the influence of environmental literacy, environmental education learning, and environmentally friendly lifestyle on students’ understanding of the green economy. The research problem is based on the relatively low level of students’ understanding of green economy concepts, despite the implementation of environment-based programs in schools. This study employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design. The population consisted of 787 students from SMP Negeri 1 Wonopringgo, Pekalongan Regency, with a sample of 265 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that environmental literacy (t = 7.669; p = 0.000), environmental education learning (t = 3.339; p = 0.001), and environmentally friendly lifestyle (t = 5.616; p = 0.000) have a significant direct effect on students’ understanding of the green economy. Furthermore, these variables simultaneously explain 65.4% of the variance in green economy understanding. These findings suggest that strengthening environmental literacy, supported by effective learning processes and the consistent application of environmentally friendly lifestyles, contributes to improving students’ understanding of the green economy.

Abstract

Reading ability is a fundamental skill that plays an important role ini daily life, including for inmates in correctional institutions. This stufy aims to identify the basic reading abilities of inmates with learning difficulties at a Class III Correctional Institution in Rangkasbitung. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through direct observation an simple communication. The research subjects consisted of three inmates with reading difficulties and one inmate with a hearing impairment. The result showed that the reading abilities of inmates varied, ranging from those who had not yet recognized letters to those who were able to read simple words but not complete sentences. The reading difficulties were associated with limitations in basic cognitive skills, working memory, and language processing. In addition, communication barriers experienced by the inmate with a hearing impairment affected the reading learning process. Based on these initial findings, inmates’ reading abilities need to be further identified through more structured assesments. Therefore, it is necessary to develop appropriate learning programs tailored to individual needs within the context of special education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Islamic education curriculum based on the Qur’an and the Sunnah with the understanding of as-salaf, in accordance with the vision and mission of Globe Islamic School Batam: instilling tauhid, enlightening through the Qur’an, dignifying with noble character, and fostering multilingual competence (Arabic, English, and Bahasa Indonesia). The research employs a literature review with a qualitative descriptive and pragmatic approach. Primary data are derived from the Qur’an and the Sunnah (Prophet’s hadith), while secondary data come from books, journals, and online sources. Data collection techniques include documentation, interviews, and investigation. Data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman model, involving data collection, reduction, presentation, and verification. The findings emphasize the importance of aligning Islamic education curricula with societal needs while remaining faithful to the Qur’an and Sunnah with the understanding of as-salaf. Implementation in schools such as GIS Batam requires effective management, adequate resources, and collaboration among principals, teachers, and educational staff. Continuous evaluation is crucial to maintain the relevance and effectiveness of the curriculum. In conclusion, a Qur’an- and Sunnah-based curriculum with the understanding of as-salaf, tailored to GIS Batam’s vision and mission, must emphasize tauhid, noble character, and multilingual education, supported by effective management and collaboration to achieve holistic educational goals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze ethical and social issues in information systems, focusing on the challenges of privacy, accountability, and quality of life in the digital age. The rapid development of information systems has transformed organizations into integrated digital entities, but has also given rise to various complex ethical issues. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a literature review method, analyzing recent textbooks and international journals. The findings reveal three main conclusions. First, regarding privacy, the use of technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things increases the risk of personal data breaches due to the massive collection and processing of data. Second, regarding accountability, the increasing complexity of digital systems demands transparency and clarity regarding organizational responsibility, particularly in the event of system failures. Third, concerning quality of life, information systems have a dual impact: they enhance efficiency and access to information, yet also create a digital divide and social pressures. In the context of Islamic education management in Indonesia, the implementation of information systems must take into account ethical values such as trustworthiness, justice, and responsibility. Therefore, an integrative approach that combines technological, organizational, and moral aspects is needed to ensure that information systems are not only efficient but also fair and sustainable.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to develop an interactive digital learning media, SI-BELBI (Islamic Cultural Learning System), for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in fourth grade elementary schools. This research is based on the limitations of learning media that can integrate cultural values and Islamic teachings in an interesting, contextual, and appropriate manner to student characteristics. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) methodology with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects included fourth grade students, teachers, and material and media experts. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation, while data analysis included quantitative descriptive methods. The study showed that the SI-BELBI media has a high level of feasibility, with validation from material experts of 87.5% and media experts of 97.5%, so it is categorized as feasible to very feasible. In addition, student responses showed a very high level of practicality and engagement (95%). This media has been proven to be able to increase learning motivation, facilitate understanding of Islamic cultural concepts, and create an interactive and enjoyable learning experience. Therefore, SI-BELBI is worthy of being used as an innovation in digital learning media based on values in Islamic religious education in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of multicultural leadership in shaping students’ character in the global era at SMK Negeri 2 Karawang. In the context of multicultural vocational education, school principals are required to possess inclusive and adaptive leadership skills in managing diversity and instilling character values such as tolerance, empathy, responsibility, and mutual respect. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, examining various scientific sources, school documents, and relevant previous studies. The results indicate that multicultural leadership at SMK Negeri 2 Karawang is implemented through interfaith religious activities, anti-discrimination policies, the integration of multicultural values into the learning process, and collaboration among schools, teachers, and parents. These strategies are able to create a harmonious learning environment that respects diversity and strengthens students’ character to become ethical, disciplined, and globally competitive individuals. This study confirms that multicultural leadership can serve as an effective model for developing character education based on diversity in the global era.
