Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Javanese cultural learning at SD Antawirya Islamic Javanese School, which integrates Islamic values with local wisdom. The problem addressed in this research is the declining implementation of local culture in education due to modernization and globalization, which affects students’ character and cultural identity. This research focuses on the learning process, the role of teachers and the school environment, as well as the challenges and strategies in maintaining Javanese culture. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation applied to ensure data validity. The results show that Javanese cultural learning is integrated into daily school activities through the use of the Javanese language, the application of unggah-ungguh (etiquette), and culture-based learning programs such as the “Dolananku” module. Teachers and the school environment play a significant role as role models in instilling cultural and religious values. The main challenges include the influence of globalization and the lack of support from the external environment, particularly families. However, the implementation of this learning approach is proven to be effective in shaping students’ character to become polite, religious, and culturally grounded individuals.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the IPAS subject due to the still conventional teaching methods and the minimal use of audio-visual media. The research problems in this study are: Is there an effect of using YouTube video media on the IPAS learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Labuang Baji 1, Makassar City? And how are the IPAS learning outcomes of fourth-grade students who are taught using YouTube video media compared to those who are not? This study aims to determine the differences and the effect of using YouTube video media on students’ learning outcomes. The method used is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type involving an experimental class and a control class, using a Non-Equivalent Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data collection techniques were carried out through pretests and posttests, and the data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis. The results show that the mean score of the experimental class increased from 61.05 to 85.79, while the control class increased from 59.29 to 81.90. The N-gain value for the experimental class was 0.63 and for the control class was 0.55, both categorized as moderate, with the experimental class showing a higher improvement. The hypothesis testing result indicates that the significance value is less than 0.05, meaning there is a significant difference between the two groups. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of YouTube video media has a positive and significant effect on the IPAS learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Labuang Baji 1 Makassar.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of information technology-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) utilization in Pancasila Education learning in elementary schools. The purpose of this study was to develop an Electronic LKPD (E-LKPD) using the Liveworksheet platform that is valid, practical, and effective on the topic of Social and Cultural Diversity for Grade IV students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Trial subjects consisted of 5 Grade IV students from SDN 27 Talago Gunung, while research subjects included 7 Grade IV students from SDN 12 Sapan. Results showed: (1) material validity 83.3% (very valid); (2) language validity 100% (very valid); (3) media validity 97% (very valid); (4) teacher practicality 100% (very practical); (5) student practicality 100% (very practical); and (6) effectiveness 100% (very effective). Therefore, Liveworksheet-based E-LKPD is proven valid, practical, and effective as a Pancasila Education learning medium in Grade IV elementary school.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the Directed Reading Activity (DRA) learning strategy in improving the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Ujung Tanah 1, Makassar City. This study was motivated by students' low ability in understanding reading texts, particularly in determining the main idea of a paragraph. The subjects of this study were the teacher and students of Grade IV B, while the objects were the DRA learning strategy and students' reading comprehension skills. This study was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. Data were collected through observation and tests, then analyzed using qualitative and quantitative techniques. The results showed that teacher teaching activities in Cycle I, Meeting 1 were in the sufficient category and Meeting 2 was in the less category. In Cycle II, teacher activities improved very significantly, with both Meeting 1 and Meeting 2 in the good category. Regarding student learning activities, in Cycle I both Meeting 1 and Meeting 2 were in the sufficient category, which then increased in Cycle II to the good category in both meetings. Furthermore, the results of the reading comprehension skills test in Cycle I were in the less category, then increased significantly in Cycle II to the good category. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Directed Reading Activity (DRA) learning strategy can improve the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Ujung Tanah 1, Makassar City.

Abstract

This research was designed to produce Android-based interactive learning media for Grade VIII science, particularly on water, air, and soil pollution, and to assess its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. A Research and Development approach was applied through the 4D model, adapted into three phases: define, design, and develop. The product trial involved two expert validators, consisting of one media expert and one subject-matter expert, two science teachers, and 27 students from class VIII.3 at SMP Negeri 4 Dua Pitue. Data were gathered using observation, interviews, validation sheets, user-response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The data were examined with qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The final product was an Android application that presents competencies, concept maps, learning content, practice questions, images, animations, audio, and task-submission links. Expert appraisal obtained an overall mean score of 4.4, which falls into the very valid category. Teacher responses produced a mean score of 4.2 and were classified as practical, while student responses reached 4.6 and were categorized as very practical. The achievement test indicated that 23 out of 27 students met the mastery criterion, with an 85% mastery rate. These results show that the Android-based interactive learning media is appropriate, practical, and effective as a supplementary medium for teaching science on environmental pollution.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the intensity of parent–child quality time and children's social development at Kindergarten Kemala Bhayangkari 02 Padang. This research is motivated by the important role of parents in supporting early childhood social development through interactions during quality time activities. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population consisted of all children in Kindergarten Kemala Bhayangkari 02 Padang, with a total sample of 32 respondents involving parents and teachers. Data were collected using questionnaires to measure the intensity of parent–child quality time and observation sheets completed by teachers to assess children's social development. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability, and all items were declared valid and reliable. Data analysis was conducted using Spearman Rank correlation with the assistance of SPSS version 23. The results showed a correlation coefficient of -0.663 with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant relationship between the intensity of quality time and children's social development. The negative direction of the relationship suggests that an increase in the intensity of quality time is not always followed by an improvement in children's social development. These findings indicate that quality time is not solely determined by the duration of togetherness, but also by the quality of interaction between parents and children. Therefore, parents need to create responsive, warm, and meaningful interactions to optimally support children's social development.

Abstract

This study aims to describe differentiated learning strategies in overcoming students’ learning delays in Civics (PKn) at SD Inpres Yotefa Papua. The background of this study is based on differences in students’ learning readiness, low participation, and difficulties in understanding abstract civic concepts. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of classroom teachers and students experiencing learning delays. The results showed that differentiated learning was implemented through mapping students’ readiness, simplifying content, varying learning processes, applying flexible grouping, using concrete media, and providing multiple learning product options. Based on observation results, approximately 75% of students showed increased participation in learning, while 70% demonstrated gradual improvement in understanding Civics concepts. In addition, around 65% of previously passive students became more confident in asking questions, answering, and engaging in group discussions.These strategies proved to help students understand the material more contextually and improve their self-confidence. Therefore, differentiated learning can be considered an effective, inclusive, and relevant approach to overcoming students’ learning delays in Civics at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of black glutinous rice flour substitution on the quality of onde-onde in terms of shape, color, aroma, texture, and taste. The background of this study is based on the limited innovation in onde-onde made from black glutinous rice flour, even though black glutinous rice has a higher anthocyanin content and nutritional value compared to white glutinous rice. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatments, namely black glutinous rice flour substitution at 0% (X0), 25% (X1), 50% (X2), and 75% (X3), with three replicates. Data were obtained through organoleptic testing by three expert panelists on the aspects of shape, color, aroma, texture, and taste, and were then analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the substitution of black glutinous rice flour had a significant effect on the color, aroma, texture, and characteristic taste of black glutinous rice, but did not significantly affect the shape and sweetness of the onde-onde. The higher the substitution of black glutinous rice flour, the stronger the resulting characteristic color and aroma, but the level of texture elasticity tended to decrease. The best treatment was obtained with a 50% substitution of black glutinous rice flour because it produced the best balance in terms of color, aroma, texture, and taste. These results indicate that black glutinous rice flour has the potential to be used as an innovative ingredient in traditional food products to enhance product value and appeal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan permainan edukatif Ular Tangga Ceria dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengenal warna pada murid tunagrahita ringan kelas II SD di SLB Negeri 1 Soppeng. Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan murid dalam menyebutkan, menunjukkan, mengelompokkan, dan membedakan warna dasar secara konsisten. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif melalui desain pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah seorang murid berinisial RN. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes lisan dan tes perbuatan sebanyak 15 butir yang mencakup indikator menyebutkan warna, menunjukkan warna, mengelompokkan warna dengan objek/gambar, dan membedakan warna. Intervensi dilakukan selama 12 pertemuan melalui permainan Ular Tangga Ceria yang dimodifikasi dengan kotak warna, gambar objek, instruksi sederhana, lagu, serta bimbingan langsung guru. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan membandingkan skor sebelum, dan setelah perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada pretest subjek memperoleh skor 1 dari 15, dikonversi menjadi nilai 6 dengan kategori sangat kurang. Setelah perlakuan, subjek memperoleh skor 13 dari 15, dikonversi menjadi nilai 87 dengan kategori sangat baik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa Ular Tangga Ceria dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran konkret, visual, interaktif, dan menyenangkan untuk memperkuat kemampuan dasar mengenal warna pada murid tunagrahita ringan.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of augmented reality media in improving the understanding of science concepts, especially the digestive system material, in deaf students of grade VIII at SLB-B YPPLB Makassar. The background of this study is the instability of students' understanding who have difficulty absorbing abstract material without the help of adequate visual media. Using a quantitative approach with the Single Subject Research (SSR) method with an A-B-A design, this study focuses on one subject with the initials Y through three stages: baseline 1 (A1), intervention (B), and baseline 2 (A2). Data were collected through observation, tests, and interviews, then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of the study showed a significant increase in each phase. In the baseline 1 (A1) condition, the subject's score was at 30 with a stable trend. After being given intervention using augmented reality media (B), the score increased to the range of 40 to 70. This increase continued in the baseline 2 (A2) phase with a score of 80 to 90 and a high level of stability. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the application of augmented reality media has a positive and effective effect in improving the understanding of science concepts for deaf students at SLB-B YPPLB Makassar.
