Abstract

Mayoritas bahasa pertama anak-anak di daerah Tapanuli Selatan, Sumatera Utara Indonesia, adalah bahasa Mandailing. Bahasa ini berkedudukan sebagai bahasa tunggal hingga memasuki jenjang sekolah dasar. Saat memasuki usia sekolah (kelas I sekolah dasar) mereka mulai mempelajari bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa kedua. Keadaan ini menjadikan siswa kelas I sekolah dasar di daerah Tapanuli Selatan sebagai penutur bilingual, sehingga menyebabkan terjadinya interferensi bahasa Mandailing dalam setiap tuturan bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus dan menggunakan metode deskriptif dalam menjelaskan hasil temuan. Penelitian bertujnuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk interferensi bahasa Mandailing terhadap pemerolehan bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa kedua pada siswa kelas I sekolah dasar di daerah Tapanuli Selatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan telah terjadi interferensi bahasa pada tataran fonologi sebanyak 8 kasus, interferensi pada tataran morfologi sebanyak 12 kasus, interferensi pada tataran leksikon sebanyak 20 kasus, dan interferensi pada tataran sintaksis sebanyak 7 kasus. Penyebab terjadinya interferensi adalah: (1) kedwibahasaan penutur, (2) perbendaharaan kosakata yang masih minim, (3) kosakata bahasa kedua jarang digunakan, dan (4) terbawanya kebiasaan bahasa ibu. Hasil penelitian ini bermanfaat bagi guru dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang membiasakan penggunaan bahasa kedua, yaitu bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

This research on the analysis of beginning writing skills is motivated by students' understanding of writing and completing letters, words and simple sentences. With the aim that students understand how to write productively and descriptively and are able to convey their ideas and ideas through writing. Data collection in this study used a qualitative approach with the type of case study research (case study) and then oriented through observation, giving practice questions and documentation. After collecting data, there are several core competencies that become the findings of researchers, namely: a) students are able to write their own loose letter symbols and conjoined letters, b) students are able to complete the overlapping words, 3) students are able to write simple sentences through pictures.

Abstract

The Covid that hit Indonesia has made everything we do change drastically. There are many rules in our daily lives such as wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance. In addition, all areas of life are also affected, the most affected is in the field of education. The impact of covid 19 is certainly very influential for schools, even universities because online learning is carried out, this is certainly very impactful. In addition to having a great impact on online learning, there are also obstacles in implementing it, for example, students do not have mobile phones, or teachers are not proficient in using IT-based technology and many more. The impact of online learning is very diverse, the most affected is elementary school, because it is in elementary school that we start everything, both lessons and socializing. The impact of online learning, especially at the elementary level, is that students become lazy in learning, students are bored while studying, the lessons learned do not enter the brain due to lack of explanation by the teacher, student association becomes less and so on.

Abstract

Learning motivation has a strong relationship with academic achievement in science subjects in elementary schools. Learning motivation refers to the drive that comes from within the students or from their surrounding environment that encourages them to learn. This study employs a literature review method to examine the relationship between learning motivation and students' academic achievement in science subjects in elementary schools. The results show that high learning motivation will encourage students to be more diligent, persistent, and enthusiastic in learning science. Active involvement in the learning process, ability to manage study time, and perseverance in completing science assignments will positively impact the attainment of optimal academic achievement in science subjects in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing the fluency reading ability of elementary school students, particularly first-grade students. Fluency reading proficiency is a fundamental skill crucial for elementary school students as it serves as a foundation for further reading development. Fluency reading entails the ability to read a text accurately and with appropriate intonation, allowing the reader to comprehend both the explicit and implicit messages conveyed by the author. Reading fluency is associated with the accuracy of word recognition and the ease of word recognition. Additionally, fluency reading encompasses reading at an appropriate pace, clear pronunciation, and good comprehension. This research has significant implications for analyzing and evaluating the fluency reading skills of first-grade elementary school students. The findings can be utilized to develop appropriate strategies and interventions to enhance fluency reading skills during the early years of primary education, thereby laying the groundwork for students' academic development in the future.

Abstract

This research is a systematic literature review focusing on the importance of using instructional media to enhance elementary school students' interest in learning. The method used is an analysis of nine accredited national journal articles relevant to the topic. The results show that the use of instructional media plays a crucial role in increasing elementary school student’s interest in learning. Instructional media can make abstract concepts more concrete, reduce verbalism, direct intuition, and motivate students to learn. Additionally, instructional media can increase active student engagement, create a pleasant learning atmosphere, and facilitate an easier understanding of the material. A combination of conventional methods and innovative instructional media has proven effective in enhancing elementary school students' cognitive interest in learning

Abstract

The moral crises that develops in schools makes character education more crucial.The literature study method with systematic review (SR) is a systematic strategy used in this study to gather, evaluate critically, integrate, and compile the findings of multiple research papers on research issues or subjects that require additional investigation. The research findings from the eight aforementioned publications demonstrate the importance of implementing character education in elementary schools and its potential to significantly impact students' daily lives and educational processes. Character education strives to raise students' overall, integrated, and balanced moral development in compliance with each educational institution's competency standards.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyse language faults, including word choice errors (diction), spelling and punctuation problems, and sentence structure errors, in narrative essays written by fourth-grade elementary school pupils. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, utilising a case study research style. The study revealed that the most prevalent errors were related to word selection (diction) and the usage of capital letters. According to the findings, Indonesian grade IV instructors should enhance and supplement their teaching on spelling usage and provide instruction on proper sentence patterns in order to enhance students' knowledge. .

Abstract

This study aims to identify the level of difficulty and ability to write descriptive essays for phase B students in class IV in elementary school. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a case method approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews with students, and document analysis of students' writing results. The results of the research show that phase B students in class IV in elementary schools experience difficulties in writing descriptive essays in several aspects, namely: It is difficult for students to find a title that suits the topic. Students can create text that matches the title, but the content of the idea is incomplete. Students have not used all their five senses to write descriptive text. Students have difficulty writing paragraphs that have cohesion and coherence. Students have difficulty using the correct choice of words (diction) according to the sentence. It is difficult for students to use the correct spelling according to the rules. Students have difficulty using punctuation marks.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare see students' ability to read fluently at level 3 and to see their ability to explain reading content in terms of students' opinions/perceptions through dialogue texts. This research uses a qualitative approach, with a qualitative descriptive type of research. Data collection techniques in this research consisted of: (1) assessment of level 3 fluent reading abilities (2) interviews with students regarding their perceptions regarding the dialogue texts they read (3) documenting the process of reading the text. . Based on these data collection techniques, the research instruments used consisted of: (1) level 3 fluency reading ability assessment sheet, (2) reading comprehension assessment sheet (3) documentation of students' reading processes. This research was conducted by Mifta Hurrahmi and Wini Media Putri, where the research subjects were elementary school students. The results obtained are based on students' ability to read and explain the contents of the reading from the interviews that have been conducted. It can be concluded that the use of dialogue texts is more effective in determining the level of students' ability to read fluently at level 3 and helping students understand the content of the reading they read
