Abstract

This study discusses the reactualization of the role of religiosity in overcoming the moral crisis among adolescents and early adults in the modern era. Rapid social change, globalization, and digitalization have significantly influenced the moral development of young generations, leading to declining social ethics, weak self-control, and increasing deviant behavior. This research aims to analyze how religiosity can be contextualized and actualized as a relevant moral foundation in contemporary life. The study employs a qualitative approach with the type of library research by examining various scientific journals, books, and academic literature related to religiosity, morality, and youth development. Data were analyzed using content analysis through the stages of data reduction, presentation, and interpretation. The findings indicate that religiosity plays an important role in strengthening self-awareness, self-control, and character formation among adolescents and early adults. The reactualization of religious values through adaptive approaches, such as digital media utilization, family education, school-based religious activities, and positive social communities, can effectively address moral challenges in the digital era. Therefore, religiosity should not merely be understood as formal ritual practice, but also as a contextual and transformative value system that guides young people in maintaining moral integrity and social responsibility.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Qur'an Reading and Writing Program (BTQ) on the maharah al-qira'ah (Arabic reading skills) of seventh-grade students at MTs DDI Kelurahan Baru, Tolitoli Regency. The low ability of students to read Arabic texts serves as the primary background of this research, in which the BTQ program, which has been consistently implemented at the madrasah, is presumed to contribute significantly to the improvement of students' Arabic reading competence. This study employs a quantitative approach with a causal design, involving all seventh-grade students as a saturated sample of 47 respondents. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis encompassed descriptive statistics, normality testing, homogeneity testing, and simple linear regression using SPSS software. The results indicate that the implementation of the BTQ program has a significant effect on students' maharah al-qira'ah, as evidenced by a t-value exceeding the t-table with a significance level below 0.05. These findings confirm that the BTQ program not only functions as religious guidance, but also serves as an effective instrument in developing students' Arabic literacy skills, while simultaneously contributing to the achievement of SDGs Goal 4 on inclusive and sustainable quality education.

Abstract

This study examines the management of the special library at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in West Sumatra, based on the National Library Regulation No. 7 of 2022, which clearly establishes standards for the implementation of special libraries. The findings reveal a gap between regulation and practice. Using a qualitative method, the research shows that the special library does not have a dedicated room, is merged with the office of Islamic extension staff, and is not managed by professional librarians. In addition, inconsistencies in informants’ responses indicate weak internal communication and limited understanding of regulations. These conditions demonstrate that the special library has not been prioritized by the institution, resulting in ineffective information services. The study concludes that policy evaluation, provision of a dedicated library space, and appointment of specialized staff are necessary to ensure that the special library functions in accordance with regulations and supports institutional performance

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of students’ religious character, which is reflected in discipline, responsibility, and moral behavior. Religious practices implemented in schools, such as Qur’an memorization (tahfiz), Friday charity programs, and Dhuha prayer, are considered strategic efforts to build students’ religious character; however, their effectiveness requires further investigation. This research aims to describe the formation of religious character through religious practices, analyze their implementation, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors at SMK Roudlatut Thullab Belitang. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, using data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The results indicate that the formation of religious character is carried out systematically through stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. Religious activities such as tahfiz Al-Qur’an, congregational Dhuha prayer, and Friday charity are conducted regularly under teacher guidance. These practices are effective in fostering discipline, responsibility, patience, and social awareness among students. Supporting factors include school policies, the role of teachers, and a conducive religious environment, while inhibiting factors include students’ lack of consistency, differences in family background, and low motivation. Therefore, integrated and continuous religious practices play a significant role in shaping students’ religious character.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Discovery Learning learning model on student learning outcomes in the subject of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) for class XI at SMKN Tapango, Polewali Mandar Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with an Ex Post Facto research type. The study population was all class XI students of SMKN Tapango, totaling 149 students, while the research sample was 60 students determined using the Slovin formula with a 10% error rate. Data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires and documentation. The instrument validity test used Pearson Product Moment Correlation, while the reliability test used the Cronbach Alpha coefficient. Data analysis was carried out through descriptive statistical analysis, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis with the help of the SPSS program. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Discovery Learning learning model is in the moderate category and student learning outcomes are also in the moderate category. The results of the partial test indicate that Free Discovery Learning and Guided Discovery Learning each have a positive and significant effect on student learning outcomes. In addition, the results of the simultaneous test (F test) showed a significance value <0.001, which means that both variables together have a significant effect on student learning outcomes. The results of the coefficient of determination (R²) test obtained a value of 0.916 or 91.6%, which indicates that the Discovery Learning learning model makes a very large contribution to improving student learning outcomes, while the remaining 8.4% is influenced by other factors outside the study. Thus, the Discovery Learning learning model is proven to be effective in improving student learning outcomes in the subject of Islamic Religious Education for class XI at SMKN Tapango, Polewali Mandar Regency.

Abstract

The development of digital technology and globalization has driven the transformation of learning towards a more interactive, collaborative, and student-centered process. However, social studies learning in schools is still often considered boring, abstract, and less able to improve students' social skills. Low student learning motivation and the dominance of conventional media such as Microsoft PowerPoint are challenges in creating effective learning. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Team Game Tournament (TGT) Cooperative Model assisted by Quizizz media on students' social skills, the effect of learning motivation on students' social skills, and the interaction between learning models and learning motivation in social studies learning at SMPN 2 Ketapang. The study used an experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design and a 2x2 factorial design. The research sample consisted of 121 ninth-grade students in the 2024/2025 academic year who were divided into experimental and control groups using saturated sampling techniques . Data collection was carried out through social skills tests, learning motivation questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used normality tests, homogeneity tests, and two-way ANOVA assisted by SPSS 27.0. The results of the study indicate that the TGT learning model assisted by Quizizz has a significant effect on students' social skills compared to the use of Microsoft PowerPoint with an F value of 139.709 and a significance of 0.000. Learning motivation also has a significant effect on students' social skills with an F value of 10.512 and a significance of 0.002. In addition, there is a significant interaction between the learning model and learning motivation on students' social skills with an F value of 11.250 and a significance of 0.001. The findings of the study indicate that cooperative learning assisted by interactive technology is able to create a more active, competitive, and collaborative learning atmosphere so that it effectively improves students' social skills. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of integrating interactive digital learning media in social studies learning to support the development of students' social skills and learning motivation. Further research is recommended to test the effectiveness of similar models at different educational levels and develop other variables such as communication skills, creativity, and cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the problem-solving abilities of second-semester students of Mathematics Education at Universitas Negeri Medan on triangle plane geometry material contextualized with the local wisdom of North Sumatra, using Newman's Error Analysis (NEA) framework. A descriptive quantitative method supported by qualitative analysis was employed. The research subjects consisted of 30 students selected through purposive sampling. The data collection instrument comprised five essay questions based on ethnomathematics, incorporating contexts such as Gorga Batak ornaments, Rumah Bolon architecture, Honai, and ulos motifs. Data analysis was conducted by categorizing student errors into five Newman stages: Reading, Comprehension, Transformation, Process Skills, and Encoding, with descriptive percentage calculations. The results indicate that the highest error rate occurred at the Transformation stage (42.3%), followed by Process Skills (35.7%), Comprehension (10.8%), Encoding (6.0%), and Reading (5.2%). These findings suggest that students face significant barriers in horizontal mathematization—namely, the ability to convert contextual situations into formal mathematical models. Local wisdom contexts were found to enhance student engagement in the early stages of problem-solving but were insufficient to promote formal deductive reasoning. This study recommends the development of more structured ethnomathematics-based teaching materials oriented toward formal mathematical thinking processes.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low problem-solving abilities of Indonesian students as reflected in the results of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2022 and the continued dominance of conventional learning that causes students to be passive and dependent on educators. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning model assisted by Flipbook media and learning motivation on students' problem-solving abilities. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design through a Nonequivalent Control Group Design and a 2x2 factorial design. The research sample consisted of 120 students selected using random sampling. Data collection was carried out through problem-solving ability tests, learning motivation questionnaires, and documentation, then analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent sample t-tests, and Two-Way ANOVA assisted by SPSS 27.0. The results showed that the Discovery Learning model assisted by Flipbook media had a significant effect on students' problem-solving abilities with a value of F = 132.505 and p = 0.000. Learning motivation also had a significant effect with an F value of 9.875 and p = 0.002. There was also a significant interaction between the learning model and learning motivation with an F value of 10.157 and p = 0.002. The experimental group achieved a higher average problem-solving ability than the control group. The R Squared value of 0.596 indicates that the learning model and learning motivation were able to explain 59.6% of the variation in students' problem-solving abilities. This study confirms that the integration of innovative learning models based on digital technology can improve critical thinking and problem-solving skills in 21st-century students. Further research is recommended to develop the use of Flipbook media in different materials and educational levels by involving additional variables such as creativity and digital literacy.

Abstract

The digital age has brought about fundamental changes in the social behavior patterns of elementary school students, particularly in terms of interaction, communication, and character development. This systematic literature review aims to (1) analyze the forms and causal factors of changes in the social behavior of elementary school students in the digital age, (2) examine their impact on Social Studies (IPS) learning, and (3) formulate implications for relevant Social Studies learning strategies. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA guidelines, involving a search of articles from Google Scholar, Garuda, and DOAJ spanning 2015–2025. The findings indicate that the widespread use of digital technology has led to a shift from face-to-face interactions to virtual interactions, a decline in empathy and social skills, and the emergence of online aggressive behavior. This has an impact on the reduced effectiveness of instilling social values in social studies learning. Consequently, social studies teachers need to integrate technology-based approaches such as cooperative learning supported by digital media, critical digital literacy, and contextual approaches that link social studies material to students’ real lives.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the storytelling method using cardboard puppets and learning motivation on the speaking ability and self-confidence of kindergarten children. This study used a quantitative design with an experimental approach, where the research subjects were kindergarten children who were divided into two groups: an experimental group using the storytelling method using cardboard puppets and a control group using the lecture method. This research method used measurement instruments in the form of a speaking ability test and a scale for measuring children's self-confidence. Data were collected through observation, interviews with teachers, and questionnaires filled out by parents related to the level of children's learning motivation. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques with the help of SPSS 27 software for hypothesis testing. The results showed that the storytelling method using cardboard puppets had a significant effect on the speaking ability and self-confidence of kindergarten children. This method proved to be more effective than the lecture method. In addition, children's learning motivation also played an important role, where children with high learning motivation showed greater improvements in speaking ability and self-confidence. The interaction between the storytelling method using cardboard puppets and learning motivation showed that these two factors were mutually reinforcing, providing a greater impact on the development of both variables. Based on the research findings, it is recommended that teachers select and integrate interactive methods, such as storytelling using cardboard puppets, especially for children with high learning motivation. Further research is also recommended to investigate the influence of children's emotional factors, such as anxiety or fear, which may affect their speaking skills and self-confidence.
