Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive overview of Adaptive Learning. This study presents current research issues and future advances in Adaptive Learning from 2020 to 2023 through the Publish or Perish (PoP) database. The analysis consists of citation analysis and co-citation analysis. This bibliometric analysis review provides important insights for researchers to identify the most influential publications and determine their fundamental structure. Furthermore, this review facilitates future studies on influential research trends and emerging topics. The findings present several discussions based on klasters identified from the two analyses. Next, theoretical and methodological implications for the emergence of new subfields and exciting future work related to Adaptive Learning are presented. The results will assist academics and practitioners in advancing technology and helping Adaptive Learning ensure the continuity of student education during emergencies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze test items on students' understanding in learning English. Test items used as an assessment must have objective quality that can be accounted for, so the questions are analyzed statistically which includes (1) validity analysis, (2) reliability analysis, (3) difficulty level analysis, and (4) question discrimination analysis. The form of research used in this study is quantitative descriptive research. This research is an evaluation involving 30 students. The instrument used in this study is data collection through documentation techniques. Analysis of the test item data was carried out using the SPSS 25 program. The results of the difficulty index test show that the test items are in the very easy category 20%, the test items are in the medium category 72% and the test items are in the easy category 20%. While the test results of the test show that the test items are at a very good level with a presentation of 4%, the questions are in the good category with a presentation of 64%, and the questions are in the sufficient category with a presentation of 24%. The questions presented can be analyzed with valid and reliable results and can be distributed well. Thus, it can be concluded that the questions are suitable for use in midterm exams. The benefits of this research include the need to always prepare backup questions to replace those deemed unsatisfactory, revisions to questions deemed good enough for reuse, and addition of questions deemed good to the question bank.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of financial literacy and self-control on the consumptive behavior of students at SMA Swasta Kampus Nommensen Pematangsiantar. This research used a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population consisted of 283 students, with a sample of 166 students selected using proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale. The data analysis techniques included validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficient of determination using SPSS. The results showed that financial literacy had a negative and significant effect on students’ consumptive behavior, with a regression coefficient value of -0.362 and a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05. Self-control had a positive and significant effect on students’ consumptive behavior, with a regression coefficient value of 0.333 and a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05. Simultaneously, financial literacy and self-control significantly affected students’ consumptive behavior, as evidenced by the F-test results where Fcount > Ftable and the significance value was 0.000 < 0.05. The multiple linear regression equation obtained was Y = 34,191 – 0.362X1 + 0.333X2. The coefficient of determination (R²) showed that financial literacy and self-control variables were able to explain the influence on students’ consumptive behavior, while the remaining variance was influenced by other variables outside this study. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that financial literacy and self-control influence the consumptive behavior of students at SMA Swasta Kampus Nommensen Pematangsiantar. Therefore, improving financial literacy understanding and self-control abilities is very important in shaping more rational and wise consumption behavior among students.

Abstract

This systematic literature review aims to analyze the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a stimulus for students' self-regulated learning (SRL) and mathematical problem-solving abilities, given the persistent gap between the demand for 21st-century problem-solving skills and traditional instructional methods that make students passive. The study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following PRISMA guidelines, with article searches conducted on Google Scholar using Publish or Perish software and keywords combining "Artificial Intelligence," "Self-Regulated Learning," and "Mathematical Problem Solving." From an initial 200 articles, 15 were selected based on inclusion criteria, including publication years 2024-2026, full-text availability, and focus on at least two of the three main variables. The results indicate that AI significantly enhances SRL by enabling personalized, adaptive learning and providing instant feedback, visualizations, and step-by-step guidance, thereby improving students' initiative and problem-solving skills. However, the findings also reveal critical gaps: without metacognitive mediation, AI risks becoming an "answer provider" rather than a "thinking partner," leading to overreliance. Additionally, most studies lack rigorous designs (e.g., RCT), have limited sample sizes, neglect teacher readiness and infrastructure constraints, and rarely examine specific SRL dimensions such as metacognition or help-seeking behavior. AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Mathos AI, and Photomath dominate the literature, yet valid and reliable instruments to measure AI-assisted problem-solving behavior remain underdeveloped. This review concludes that while AI holds transformative potential, its effectiveness depends on integrating metacognitive strategies, strengthening teacher digital literacy, improving infrastructure, and conducting longitudinal or experimental studies to establish causal evidence.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of lifestyle, social environment, and financial experience on the manajemen keuangan of Economic Education students at Universitas Negeri Semarang, with emotional intelligence as a moderating variable. The research employed a quantitative approach with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 202 respondents selected using simple random sampling techniques. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability and analyzed using classical assumption tests and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with the assistance of SPSS version 27. The results showed that lifestyle had no significant effect on manajemen keuangan, while social environment and financial experience had a positive and significant effect on students’ manajemen keuangan. In addition, emotional intelligence was able to strengthen the influence of lifestyle and financial experience on manajemen keuangan, but it was unable to moderate the influence of social environment on manajemen keuangan. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.977 indicates that 97.7% of the variation in manajemen keuangan can be explained by the variables in this study, while the remaining 2.3% is influenced by other factors outside the study. Improving financial experience, a positive social environment, and emotional intelligence are important factors in enhancing the quality of students’ manajemen keuangan.

Abstract

Reading literacy skills in early grade elementary students remain an essential foundation for supporting overall learning success; however, many students are still able to read fluently without fully understanding the content of the texts they read. This study aims to analyze the reading literacy skills of first-grade students at MI Manba’ul Ulum Tuban, including the level of students’ reading ability, teaching methods used by teachers, difficulties faced by students, as well as teachers’ efforts and parental involvement in supporting reading development. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving classroom teachers and first-grade students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing procedures. The results showed that most students were able to read simple words and sentences fluently, although their reading comprehension ability was still limited. Teachers applied various instructional methods such as listening-reading activities, shared reading, and learning through play supported by picture media. The main difficulty experienced by students was low motivation and reading interest. Teachers addressed these challenges by providing additional individual assistance and conducting continuous evaluation during each learning session. Furthermore, parental involvement at home played an important role in supporting students’ reading literacy development.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the types of instructional media used by English teachers at SMKN 1 Kuok, to evaluate their effectiveness, and to identify the challenges teachers face in implementing them. The study used a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through questionnaires and interviews involving all three English teachers at SMKN 1 Kuok. The results show that 100% of teachers use digital media such as YouTube videos, PowerPoint presentations, Kahoot, Quizizz, and Google Classroom, 100% still use printed media like textbooks and student worksheets, and 67% create their own media, including vocabulary cards and classroom games. In terms of effectiveness, 95% of teachers stated that digital media increases student motivation, 90% agreed that visual media makes learning easier to understand, and 85% noted that media enhances class interaction and engagement. However, only 33% of teachers considered school facilities adequate, and 100% mentioned obstacles such as limited projectors, weak internet connections, and lack of time to prepare new materials. Despite these challenges, the use of instructional media has significantly improved student participation and comprehension in English learning. The study concludes that effective media integration, supported by sufficient infrastructure and continuous teacher training, can greatly enhance teaching quality in vocational schools.

Abstract

Educational technology promotes digital media use, yet Indonesian language learning in elementary schools remains conventional, making students less focused and easily bored. Smart TV use is also limited by inadequate facilities, unstable internet, and teachers’ low technological competence.This study aims to analyze the use of Smart TV as a learning media in Indonesian language learning at elementary school and to examine its impact on students’ learning activities at SDN 23 Parit Rantang. The study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of teachers and students who were directly involved in the use of Smart TV in the learning process. Data were collected through observation and interviews, while data analysis used an interactive analysis model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the use of Smart TV helps teachers deliver Indonesian language learning materials in a more engaging way through videos, images, and digital texts, making students more active and able to understand the material more easily. The use of Smart TV also increases students’ interest, motivation, and concentration in learning. However, several obstacles were found, such as limited facilities, unstable internet connection, and teachers’ limited ability to use technology optimally. Therefore, teacher training and adequate infrastructure support are needed to optimize the use of Smart TV in learning. This study concludes that Smart TV has the potential to become an effective learning media to improve the quality of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the importance of beginning reading skills as the foundation of students’ language abilities in early grades. Preliminary findings at SDN 1 Terong Tawah showed that beginning reading instruction was not optimal due to the lack of varied learning media. Teachers mainly relied on textbooks and worksheets, causing low learning motivation, and most students were still at the spelling stage. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a big book learning media to improve students’ beginning reading skills and determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed media. This study used a Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects were first-grade students of SDN 1 Terong Tawah. Data were collection through interviews, questionnaires, and tests, then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results showed that the developed big book media was highly valid, with an average score of 96%, consisting of media expert validation at 96%, material expert validation at 97%, and language expert validation at 96%. The practicality test showed very practical results with scores of 95% in the small-scale trial and 98% in the large-scale trial. The effectiveness of the media was demonstrated through the results of students’ beginning reading skills tests, with an average score of 89 and classical completeness of 87%, which was categorized as very effective. Thus, the developed big book media is valid, practical, and effective in improving beginning reading skills of first-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Pancasila Education plays a strategic role in shaping the character of elementary school Pancasila Education plays a strategic role in shaping the character of elementary school students as the next generation with a Pancasila spirit. However, learning Pancasila Education in elementary schools is often still abstract, verbalistic, and less meaningful for students. The contextual approach (CTL) serves as a solution by connecting learning materials with students' real lives. This article aims to examine the application of the contextual approach in Pancasila Education learning to shape students' character through a systematic literature study of eight related journals. Literature search was conducted through Google Scholar and Sinta databases using the keywords contextual approach, CTL, Pancasila Education, and elementary student character, with inclusion criteria of publications from 2021–2024. Results show that CTL, implemented through its seven main components, significantly improves students' understanding and internalization of Pancasila values, including religiosity, honesty, mutual cooperation, responsibility, and nationalism. Although all reviewed literature demonstrates positive outcomes, the main challenge lies in shifting paradigms and teachers' readiness to consistently implement CTL.
