Abstract

The lack of public street lighting (PJU) in remote farming areas around Tomohon City forces farmers to walk through plantation roads in the dark, raising both safety and productivity concerns during after-hours activities. This study analyzes the performance of a small-scale 500 W hybrid power system that combines solar photovoltaic (PV) and microhydro generation to supply street lighting for farmers in Taratara Village, Tomohon. The system consists of a 400 Wp monocrystalline PV array, a 500 W crossflow microhydro turbine with a permanent-magnet generator, a 24 V/100 Ah deep-cycle battery bank, an MPPT charge controller, a dump-load resistor, and DC/AC protection devices. Field testing was carried out for fourteen consecutive days, recording voltage, current, generated energy, battery state-of-charge, and load behaviour through an ESP32-based data logger. The PV subsystem delivered an average of 1.92 kWh/day at 14.76% conversion efficiency, while the microhydro turbine produced 8.71 kWh/day at 40.66% hydraulic-to-electrical efficiency. The combined hybrid output of 10.27 kWh/day comfortably covered the load demand of six 30 W LED lamps operating 12 hours nightly (2.16 kWh/day). The control and protection system kept battery SoC within 62-95% and successfully cleared all four simulated fault scenarios within 18-320 ms. The hybrid configuration is therefore considered technically reliable as an off-grid PJU solution for remote agricultural areas.

Abstract

A synchronous generator is a machine that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy, where the rotor speed is synchronized with the frequency of the generated voltage. Therefore, its existence plays a crucial role in maintaining service continuity.This study was conducted in the Energy Conversion Laboratory of Politeknik Negeri Manado, using a synchronous generator as the main object of investigation. One of the factors affecting its characteristics is the variation in generator load. In this research, an analysis was carried out on the voltage changes in a synchronous generator under varying load conditions, as well as efforts to improve voltage in order to maintain its stability.The research method involved experimental voltage measurements. The results of this study provide an understanding of the voltage characteristics of a synchronous generator when subjected to load variations, as well as voltage improvement achieved by increasing the rotational speed of the motor.

Abstract

The development of renewable energy technology, particularly on-grid solar power plants (PLTS), demands competent human resources in the design, installation, and protection of industrial systems. This requires laboratory facilities capable of representing real-world conditions. This research aims to design and implement a protection system for an on-grid solar power plant (PLTS) within a Teaching Factory laboratory design to ensure the safety of equipment, users, and system reliability. The method used requires protection based on electrical installation standards, design of DC and AC side protection systems, and simulation and testing of protection performance. The implemented protection system includes the use of MCBs, DC fuses, surge protection devices (SPDs), an over/under voltage relay, and a grounding system. The design results demonstrate that the integrated protection system minimizes the risk of disturbances such as short circuits, overloads, voltage surges, and PLN grid disruptions, while also enhancing safety in the laboratory environment. The implementation of this protection system not only supports the technical operational aspects of on-grid solar power plants but also serves as a practical learning tool for students in understanding the safety and reliability standards of solar-based electric power systems. Thus, a Teaching Factory laboratory design equipped with an adequate protection system can provide an effective, safe, and industry-appropriate learning environment.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of the Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning environment in supporting the process of internalizing Islamic values among students in schools. Based on the results of preliminary observations at SMP Negeri 19 Muaro Jambi, several challenges were identified, such as low student participation in religious activities, a lack of exposure to Islamic culture, and suboptimal student motivation to learn. This study aims to examine the conditions of the PAI learning environment, identify factors that support and hinder the internalization of Islamic values, and formulate a design for the PAI learning environment that supports the development of religious character among ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 19 Muaro Jambi. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with research subjects comprising PAI teachers, ninth-grade students, and the school principal. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of the study indicate that the PAI learning environment at SMP Negeri 19 Muaro Jambi has supported the internalization of Islamic values through habitual activities such as congregational prayer, group prayer, and Yasinan. However, implementation has not been optimal because there are still students who are less active in participating in religious activities. Supporting factors include the school’s religious vision, support from PAI teachers, and the school’s religious programs, while inhibiting factors include low student motivation, a lack of religious awareness, and limited practice of Islamic values within the family environment. An effective Islamic Education learning environment can be achieved through strengthening the Islamic school culture, teacher role modeling, contextual learning, and consistent religious activities

Abstract

Learning Indonesian language in elementary schools still requires instructional media that can improve students’ engagement and understanding in the learning process. Th is study aimed to develop an interactive e-book as a learning medium for Indonesian language subjects and to determine its feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness in supporting learning activities. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects included teachers and 26 fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 3 Andowia, North Konawe Regency. Data were collected through expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, observations, and learning outcome tests. Data analysis used qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results showed that the developed interactive e-book was categorized as highly feasible, with a media expert validation score of 92% and a material expert validation score of 96%. In addition, student responses reached 90%, indicating that the learning media was practical and easy to use in the learning process. The effectiveness of the e-book was also reflected in the improvement of students’ learning outcomes after using the media during learning activities. Therefore, the developed interactive e-book was declared valid, practical, and effective as a learning medium for Indonesian language subjects in elementary school. This product is expected to become an innovative digital learning medium to improve the quality of learning and students’ learning interest in elementary schools.

Abstract

Teachers play an important role in instilling the character of independence in early childhood as the basis for independent and responsible development. This study examines the role of teachers in PAUD Wafdaa Kids Center and its supporting and inhibiting factors. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to deeply understand the role of teachers in instilling early childhood independence in PAUD Wafdaa Kids Center. Subjects include managers, educators, and early childhood at the site. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observations; analyzed with an interactive model (reduction, presentation, conclusion). The results of the study show that teachers play the role of facilitators, motivators, guides, and role models through habituation, educational games, and practical life according to children's development at PAUD Wafdaa Kids Center. The main supporting factors for instilling independence are a conducive learning environment, the support of the principal in co-curricular activities, and the active participation of parents. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are overprotective parenting, excessive consumption of gadgets, and limitations from teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to understand deeply the experiences of children in using profanity at the Community X in Padang City, West Sumatra. The phenomenon of children using offensive language is a complex issue influenced by multiple environmental factors. Employing a qualitative approach with Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), this study involved three child participants aged 11 years, namely Vino, Manda, and Kevin, who are actively engaged in the community. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews conducted at the community site. The findings reveal three distinct patterns: Vino is aware that his behavior is inappropriate but feels powerless due to social group pressure; Manda demonstrates the highest moral awareness and the most concrete motivation for change, shaped by a painful relational experience; Kevin exhibits complete normalization of profanity with an absence of moral conflict and notably low empathy. All three participants were exposed to profanity from similar sources, namely family, physical environment, peers, and digital content, yet constructed meaning from those experiences very differently. The study confirms that normalization of profanity in children is not merely a character issue but a product of complex social ecology. Effective intervention requires a holistic approach simultaneously addressing family, peer group, and community dimensions.

Abstract

              Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis metode penerjemahan yang digunakan dalam menerjemahkan novel Laut Bercerita menjadi The Sea Speaks His Name. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis metode penerjemahan yang diterapkan oleh penerjemah, mengetahui metode yang paling dominan digunakan, serta menganalisis proses pengalihan teks bahasa Indonesia (Bahasa Sumber) ke dalam teks bahasa Inggris (Bahasa Sasaran). Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini diambil dari kalimat dan ungkapan di dalam novel Laut Bercerita karya Leila S. Chudori beserta terjemahan bahasa Inggrisnya The Sea Speaks His Name terjemahan John McGlynn. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan analisis dokumen. Data tersebut kemudian diklasifikasikan dan dianalisis menggunakan teori Peter Newmark (yang membagi metode penerjemahan menjadi delapan jenis: kata demi kata, harfiah, setia, semantis, adaptasi, bebas, idiomatik, dan komunikatif) melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerjemah menggunakan 8 jenis metode penerjemahan. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa dari total 104 data yang diteliti, ditemukan 43 data diterjemahkan menggunakan metode penerjemahan komunikatif (communicative translation) dengan persentase 41,35%, 26 data menggunakan metode penerjemahan setia (faithful translation) sebesar 25%, 23 data menggunakan metode penerjemahan semantis (semantic translation) sebesar 22,12%, dan sisa data lainnya menggunakan metode penerjemahan lain. Dari metode-metode tersebut, penerjemahan komunikatif (communicative translation) merupakan metode yang paling dominan digunakan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerjemah cenderung mengutamakan penyampaian pesan yang wajar, mudah dipahami, dan berterima bagi pembaca sasaran (pembaca bahasa Inggris). Penerjemah berusaha menyampaikan makna kontekstual dan emosi dari cerita dengan bahasa yang mengalir secara natural, tanpa terikat secara kaku pada struktur bahasa aslinya. Kesimpulannya, analisis metode penerjemahan ini dapat secara efektif mengungkap strategi pengalihan bahasa yang dilakukan oleh John McGlynn. Temuan penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih dalam mengenai penerapan teori penerjemahan dalam karya sastra serta menjadi referensi bagi pembelajar atau calon penerjemah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kemampuan passing bawah dengan tingkat konsistensi permainan bola voli. Passing bawah merupakan salah satu teknik dasar yang sangat penting dalam permainan bola voli karena digunakan untuk menerima servis, menahan serangan lawan, serta mengawali serangan. Kemampuan passing bawah yang baik sangat berpengaruh terhadap kestabilan permainan, baik secara individu maupun tim. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur (library research) dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data diperoleh dari 10 artikel penelitian terdahulu yang relevan dan membahas tentang passing bawah dalam permainan bola voli. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui dokumentasi dengan cara mencari, membaca, dan mencatat hasil penelitian yang berkaitan dengan variabel passing bawah dan konsistensi permainan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis isi (content analysis) dengan membandingkan, mengidentifikasi, dan menyimpulkan hasil dari masing-masing penelitian. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan passing bawah memiliki hubungan yang sangat kuat dengan tingkat konsistensi permainan bola voli. Faktor-faktor yang paling dominan memengaruhi passing bawah adalah koordinasi mata-tangan, kekuatan otot lengan, keseimbangan tubuh, serta metode latihan yang tepat. Koordinasi mata-tangan menjadi faktor yang paling berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan passing bawah. Selain itu, latihan yang dilakukan secara terstruktur dan berulang terbukti mampu meningkatkan keterampilan passing bawah secara signifikan. Dengan demikian, semakin baik kemampuan passing bawah seorang pemain, maka semakin tinggi pula konsistensi permainan bola voli yang ditampilkan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Career adaptability and self-efficacy on career readiness among vocational high school (SMK) students in Ambon City. The research involved 200 grade XII students selected through simple random sampling. This quantitative study employed a multiple regression analysis. Data were collected using three standardized instruments: Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS), General Self-efficacy Scale (GSE), and Career Readiness Scale. The results showed that Career adaptability had a positive and significant effect on career readiness (β = 0.487, p < 0.001), while self-efficacy did not show a significant effect (p = 0.532). Simultaneously, both variables significantly influenced career readiness (F = 28.402, p < 0.001) and explained 22.4% of the variance. These findings indicate that Career adaptability is a stronger predictor of career readiness than general self-efficacy among SMK students in Ambon. The study suggests the importance of developing Career adaptability programs in vocational education, especially in eastern Indonesia.
