Abstract

This study examines the influence of growth mindset on students' mathematical communication skills mediated by affective factors, namely self-efficacy, learning motivation, self-confidence, and learning independence. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, 15 relevant scholarly articles published between 2021–2025 from Google Scholar were analyzed, adhering to stringent inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure relevance to mathematics education. Literature synthesis reveals that growth mindset positively impacts these affective factors, which in turn enhance students' mathematical communication abilities, including articulating ideas orally and in writing, linking concrete concepts to symbolic representations, and formulating conjectures and generalizations. Students with a growth mindset exhibit greater persistence, receptivity to constructive feedback, intrinsic motivation, and learning independence, thereby improving the efficacy of their mathematical communication. Integrating growth mindset strategies into mathematics curricula is recommended to address Indonesia's low PISA 2022 mathematics score of 366.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the role of Pancasila Education in the formation of global citizen character in grade V students of SD Negeri Ngasinan 2 in the era of globalization. The background of this research is the gap between students' academic achievements in the subject of Pancasila Education and students' real behavior. Students also show a very limited understanding of their identity as part of a global citizen. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of the study were the principal, teachers, and students of grade V of SD Negeri Ngasinan 2, Magelang Regency. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data is analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the process of forming a global citizen character through Pancasila Education is carried out with the synergy of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, teachers' pedagogic strategies in integrating the 8 Dimensions of Graduate Profiles, contextual learning methods, and the use of Interactive Flat Panel media, in addition to refraction, the role of teachers as moral role models, and the content of the material "From Aku to Indonesia" also play an important role. The realization of the character of a global citizen can be seen in the internalization of the five dimensions of the graduate profile: faith as a moral compass, citizenship from local to global, critical reasoning as a filter in receiving information, collaboration without discrimination, and ethical communication. The main obstacles include the disconnect between school and home, exposure to unfiltered digital content, teachers' dilemmas in corrective actions, and weak synergy between schools and parents. This study concludes that Pancasila Education plays a strategic role as a moral filter that at the same time shapes national identity and the competence of global citizens.

Abstract

Almaida Laman. 2026. Implementation of Digital Literacy Media to Improve Reading Comprehension Skills of Fourth-Grade Students at SD Negeri 147 Pelali, Enrekang Regency. Thesis. Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. Supervisor I: Tasrif Akib and Supervisor II: Nur Khadijah Razak. This research was motivated by the low reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 147 Pelali, Enrekang Regency. Based on initial observations, approximately 43% of 23 students had not achieved the learning mastery standard (KKTP) of 75 and the minimum classical mastery standard (80%). Students still experienced difficulties in understanding reading content, such as finding the main idea, answering questions based on the text, and summarizing the reading. Furthermore, learning methods that still use conventional methods make students less active and less interested in reading activities. This research aims to improve students' reading comprehension skills through the application of digital literacy media. The research used was classroom action research, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 23 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, achievement tests, documentation, and interviews. Data were then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively, assessing the percentage of student activity and learning completion. The results showed that the application of digital literacy media improved students' reading comprehension. In the first cycle, student activity began to increase, with 67% paying attention to teacher explanations, 61% using digital media, 57% reading texts, 52% asking questions, 61% answering questions, 57% finding the main idea, 52% summarizing the reading content, and 65% working in groups. However, learning completion was not achieved. After improvements were made in Cycle II, student activity and learning outcomes improved significantly, with at least 80% of students achieving grades above the 75 minimum competency standard (KKTP). Therefore, the implementation of digital literacy media is effective in improving students' reading comprehension skills because it makes learning more engaging, helps students understand the content of the reading, and increases their active participation in the learning process.

Abstract

Teacher certification policy is one of the government’s strategic instruments to improve teacher professionalism, the quality of learning, and the overall standard of national education. Normatively, teacher certification is intended to provide formal recognition to teachers as professional educators who possess pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies. However, the reality in practice indicates that possession of a teaching certificate does not always correlate with improvements in learning quality. This article aims to analyze the challenges of teacher quality improvement policies, particularly the gap between certification and the realities of educational implementation at the school level. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method. The context of the study focuses on UPTD SMPN Satu Atap 2 Gantar, Indramayu Regency, which is characterized as a small school with 3 permanent teachers, 3 non-permanent teachers, and 54 students. The analytical framework is based on George C. Edward III’s policy implementation theory, which includes aspects of communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. The findings reveal that teacher certification has not been optimal as an instrument for improving quality due to the dominance of administrative orientation, limited resources, weak post-certification development, teacher workload, and the lack of a strong reflective and collaborative culture within schools. Therefore, certification needs to be integrated with continuous professional development, humanistic academic supervision, teacher learning communities, and impact-based evaluation of learning outcomes to ensure that teacher quality improvement policies become more meaningful and contextual.

Abstract

The integration of solar photovoltaic (PV) generation into a hybrid energy system introduces an inherent challenge: the intermittent nature of solar irradiance often produces unstable power output, particularly under cloudy or rainy conditions. This study analyses the optimisation of PV energy contribution in a 500 W hybrid PV–microhydro system supplying a public street lighting (PJU) load in the plantation area of Taratara Village, Tomohon City. A prototype combining a 250 Wp polycrystalline PV module and an undershot waterwheel coupled to a permanent magnet generator was designed, fabricated, and tested. Time-series data were collected for solar irradiance, water discharge, output voltage, current, and real power under varying weather conditions. The data were used to map the correlation between irradiance fluctuation and PV conversion efficiency, and to compute the percentage of PV contribution to the total daily energy generated. Projected results indicate that PV contributes around 15–17% of the total daily energy on clear days and drops to 5–6% on overcast days, while the microhydro generator delivers a stable baseload of approximately 250 W throughout the day. The study recommends an MPPT-based dispatch strategy and a battery sizing of at least 100 Ah at 12 V to ensure load continuity. The findings can serve as a technical reference for future deployment of hybrid renewable street lighting in similar rural plantation areas.
