Abstract

Learning interest is one of the psychological factors that plays an important role in the success of learning at the elementary school level. However, the reality in the field shows that students' interest in the subject of Mathematics tends to be low. This study aims to describe the forms of learning interest of fifth-grade students in the subject of Mathematics, identify the factors that influence it, and analyze the role of teachers in increasing that interest. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and questionnaires involving 30 students and 1 teacher at SDN 2 Karangmulya. The results of the study indicate that most students show low learning interest, characterized by a lack of enthusiasm, participation, and concentration in the subject of Mathematics. The factors causing students' low learning interest include a lack of variation in the teacher's teaching models or methods, the lack of use of engaging learning media, as well as students' perception that Mathematics is difficult and boring. On the other hand, the use of visual media such as videos and images has been proven to be able to increase students' interest. This study concludes that improving students' interest in learning Mathematics requires a more interactive teaching approach, the use of varied learning media, as well as attention to students' psychological conditions and learning environment. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for developing more effective and contextual learning strategies at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an integrated physics enrichment book on ethnophysics using the traditional Jambi Malay drum (Gendang Melayu Jambi) as a subject. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D development model comprising the define, design, development, and disseminate stages. The results showed that in the initial validation stage, the enrichment book received a score of 66.84% from subject matter experts and 69.53% from media experts, both in the “good” category. After revisions were made, the validation results increased to 85.46% and 86.20%, both in the “very good” category. A pilot test involving 36 students showed a positive response to the developed book. Thus, the ethnophysics-based enrichment book on the Gendang Melayu Jambi is suitable for use as supplementary teaching material in physics education.

Abstract

A friendly/communicative character is important in fostering harmonious and inclusive social relationships at school. However, in reality, the issues in this study indicate that the friendly/communicative character of ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Banjarmasin is still relatively low, especially in social interactions between diverse students, including children with special needs. This is evident in a lack of empathy, impolite communication, and a low level of acceptance of differences. This study aims to describe the role of teachers in developing a friendly/communicative character and the obstacles encountered in this process. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that: (1) the role of teachers in developing a friendly/communicative character is as facilitators, role models, and motivators. Teachers as facilitators create active and interactive learning and provide opportunities for students to communicate and collaborate. As role models, teachers demonstrate a friendly attitude, respect for differences, and good communication. As motivators, teachers provide encouragement and guidance to foster empathy, cooperation, and positive communication. Character development is also carried out through learning and co-curricular activities. (2) Obstacles encountered include social jealousy and envy among students, barriers to interaction with students with special needs, a tendency to form friendship groups (circles) and introverted behavior, and poor social etiquette among students. It is recommended that schools and teachers continue to enhance their roles in creating an inclusive, harmonious, and diversity-respecting environment.

Abstract

Learning interest is a crucial factor in successful learning, reflected in student concentration and enthusiasm. Low learning interest can be influenced by the inappropriate use of learning models. Therefore, a learning model appropriate to student characteristics is needed, one of which is the word square model. This study aims to determine the application of the word square model, the level of student learning interest, and the model's influence on learning interest in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak for seventh grade at MTs Al-Jamii'ah, Cidolog District, Sukabumi Regency. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type and a nonequivalent control group design. The study sample consisted of 72 students divided into an experimental class and a control class. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using independent sample t-tests and simple linear regression. The results showed a significant effect of the word square model on student learning interest, indicated by a higher average score in the experimental class compared to the control class (76.86 > 68.14) with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. This model contributed 55% to increasing student learning interest.

Abstract

Early Childhood Education (ECE) is a very important initial stage in a child’s development, particularly in shaping independence and social interaction skills. At this stage, children begin to learn about themselves, their environment, and how to build social relationships with others. Identical twins have unique characteristics, including a very high level of emotional closeness and a tendency to always be together in various activities. This condition often causes identical twins to experience challenges in developing independence and social interaction skills, especially in adapting to a broader social environment outside their twin relationship. This study aims to analyze teachers’ strategies in developing the independence and social interaction of identical twins in PAUD KB Fatimah Az Zahra. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consist of classroom teachers, identical twin children, and parents as supporting data sources. The results of the study show that teachers’ strategies in developing the independence and social interaction of identical twins are carried out through several approaches, namely habituation of independent activities in daily routines, the implementation of group-based learning to enhance peer interaction, individualized approaches according to each child’s needs, and intensive collaboration between teachers and parents in supporting the children’s development both at school and at home. These strategies have proven effective in improving children’s independence and expanding their social interaction skills within their environment.

Abstract

This study examines the role of parental supervision in shaping students’ smartphone usage patterns among sixth-grade students at SDN Bentarsari 01. The increasing use of smartphones among elementary school children has created both opportunities and challenges, particularly in relation to learning concentration and behavioral development. Uncontrolled smartphone use tends to lead to excessive engagement in entertainment activities, which may negatively affect students’ focus and academic performance. Therefore, parental supervision becomes a crucial factor in directing children toward more responsible and balanced technology use. This research aims to describe the forms of parental supervision and analyze their role in shaping students’ smartphone usage patterns. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving parents and students as research subjects. The selection of informants was conducted purposively based on their relevance to the research focus. The findings reveal two dominant parenting styles: authoritative parenting and indulgent parenting. Authoritative parenting is characterized by balanced control, communication, and guidance, resulting in more structured and responsible smartphone use. In contrast, indulgent parenting tends to provide excessive freedom with minimal supervision, leading to unregulated and entertainment-dominated usage patterns. The study concludes that effective parental supervision plays a significant role not only in controlling smartphone use but also in shaping children’s self-regulation and learning behavior. Thus, a balanced and communicative parenting approach is essential to support productive and educational use of smartphones among students.

Abstract

This study examines stakeholder collaboration in the implementation of School Based Management (SBM) at SD Negeri 21 Pemecutan. The study is motivated by the gap between the expected optimal implementation of SBM and the empirical conditions, including limited infrastructure, uneven literacy achievement, and suboptimal documentation of school programs. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of SBM, identify the stakeholders involved, analyze the forms of collaboration, and determine the supporting and inhibiting factors. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, document analysis, and questionnaires involving the principal and a classroom teacher as key informants. The findings show that the implementation of SBM is in the “good” category, with an observation score of 75% and a questionnaire score of 82.19%. Stakeholder collaboration involves both internal and external parties, including the principal, teachers, students, parents, school committees, government, and universities. This collaboration supports school programs, particularly in literacy, numeracy, and character development. However, challenges remain in terms of limited facilities, uneven student achievement, and the need to strengthen community engagement. Therefore, improving stakeholder collaboration and optimizing resource management are necessary to enhance the effectiveness of SBM implementation.

Abstract

The rapid flow of information on TikTok requires vocational students to have adequate digital literacy so they can evaluate and filter information critically. This study aimed to describe students' digital literacy, describe students' ability to filter information on TikTok, and analyze the influence of digital literacy on the ability to filter information among students of SMK Negeri 1 Barabai. The study used a quantitative associative design. The population comprised 902 students in the 2025/2026 academic year, and 278 TikTok-using students were selected through purposive sampling using Slovin's formula with a 5% error tolerance. Data were collected through a four-point Likert questionnaire. The digital literacy instrument covered digital skills, digital safety, digital culture, digital ethics, self-control, and information evaluation; the information-filtering instrument covered information identification, evaluation, verification, critical attitude, selectivity, and information use. Validity testing produced 24 valid items, and reliability testing produced Cronbach's Alpha values of 0.877 and 0.871. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman's rank correlation because the normality assumption was not met. The findings showed that students' digital literacy was high (M = 39.88; 83.08%), and their ability to filter information on TikTok was also high (M = 39.21; 81.69%). Spearman's test indicated a strong, positive, and significant relationship between digital literacy and information-filtering ability (rho = 0.733; p = 0.000). Thus, the higher students' digital literacy, the better their ability to select, verify, and evaluate information on TikTok.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of digital literacy in shaping students’ politeness in the midst of rapid technological advancement, particularly among Generation Z who are highly engaged with digital media. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of digital literacy, the level of students’ politeness, and to examine the effect of digital literacy on the politeness of Generation Z students at SMA Negeri 12 Banjarmasin. This study employs a quantitative approach using a simple linear regression method. The population consists of all students of SMA Negeri 12 Banjarmasin, with a sample of 139 students selected through a specific sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire, and analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The results indicate that students’ digital literacy is categorized as good, and their level of politeness is also categorized as good. The simple linear regression analysis shows a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of digital literacy on students’ politeness. The regression coefficient of 0.718 indicates a positive direction of influence, while the coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.480 suggests that digital literacy contributes 48% to students’ politeness, with the remaining 52% influenced by other factors beyond this study. In conclusion, digital literacy has a positive and significant effect on the politeness of Generation Z students at SMA Negeri 12 Banjarmasin.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi implementasi Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah (MBS) di SD Negeri 18 Sesetan serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan kesenjangan antara perencanaan program dengan akuntabilitas administratif. Menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kombinasi (mixed methods) yang bersifat deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen evaluasi mandiri, observasi terstruktur, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumentasi yang melibatkan kepala sekolah, guru, serta operator sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi MBS di SD Negeri 18 Sesetan mencapai skor akumulatif 65,3% yang tergolong dalam kategori "Sedang". Ditemukan kesenjangan kritis berupa fenomena "administrative lag", di mana banyak program terlaksana namun tidak didukung oleh bukti fisik yang memadai, terutama pada manajemen sarana prasarana (53,3%) dan manajemen kurikulum (59,5%). Sebaliknya, manajemen keuangan (76,2%) dan pelayanan prima (72,7%) menjadi pilar terkuat. Fenomena lag ini dipicu oleh faktor struktural berupa belum tersedianya sistem kearsipan digital yang terintegrasi serta faktor kultural terkait persepsi beban kerja administratif guru yang berlebihan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan transformasi digital melalui sistem e-archiving dan penguatan supervisi manajerial untuk menyinkronkan aksi lapangan dengan akuntabilitas administratif guna menjamin keberlanjutan mutu pendidikan.
