Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Cost Control and Variance Analysis on the Performance of the Secretariat of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Gowa Regency. This research employed a quantitative approach using explanatory research design. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to employees of the DPRD Secretariat of Gowa Regency. The research sample consisted of 31 respondents selected using the saturated sampling technique. Data analysis methods included descriptive statistical analysis, validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing using SPSS for Windows 24.0. The results indicate that the Cost Control variable does not have a significant effect on organizational performance, with a regression coefficient of -0.164 and a significance value of 0.348 (> 0.05). This finding suggests that the implementation of cost control has not been able to provide a meaningful impact on improving organizational performance, as budget management is still more oriented toward administrative compliance than toward performance effectiveness. Meanwhile, the Variance Analysis variable has a positive and significant effect on performance, with a regression coefficient of 0.498 and a significance value of 0.016 (< 0.05). This finding indicates that the better the variance analysis process, the better the organizational performance. The coefficient of determination (Adjusted R²) of 0.140 indicates that 14% of the variation in performance can be explained by the two independent variables. This study implies that public sector organizations need to optimize variance analysis as a strategic decision-making tool in budget evaluation to improve organizational performance effectiveness.

Abstract

This study proposes a conceptual design of a SCADA-based (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) control system for an off-grid Photovoltaic Power System (PLTS) intended for the teaching factory laboratory of Politeknik Negeri Manado. The system is designed to perform continuous monitoring and centralized control of PLTS operational parameters through four integrated functional layers, namely the sensor layer, the control layer, the communication layer, and the supervisory layer. The proposed architecture integrates an RS-485 power meter type 2121, a current transformer (CT), a Hywell PLC, and an HMI into a single coordinated platform. The PLTS subsystem to be controlled consists of a monocrystalline solar module with 18–22% efficiency, a PWM-based Solar Charge Controller (PWM-SCC), and a lithium-ion battery as the energy storage unit. The control system uses the Modbus RTU protocol over RS-485 to ensure stable communication among components, while the HMI provides a real-time visual interface for the operator. This design emphasizes a modular, educational, and industry-oriented framework structured in accordance with IEC 61724-1 (2017). The proposed laboratory is designed to strengthen students’ technical competencies in PLTS installation, SCADA operation, and system maintenance, as well as to support SDGs 4 (Quality Education) and SDGs 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy).

Abstract

Mechanical energy harvesting from human footsteps is a potential solution for supplying micro-power to autonomous electronic devices. This study aims to investigate the electrical characteristics of PZT (Lead Zirconate Titanate) piezoelectric modules arranged in a parallel configuration of 20 units to respond to a mechanical load of 100 kg. The main focus of this research is to analyze the effect of low resistive load variations from 10 Ω to 110 Ω on power transfer efficiency. The experimental method was carried out by applying a static load of 100 kg to the piezoelectric array connected to a full-bridge rectifier circuit using 1N4007 diodes and a 47 µF filter capacitor. The output voltage was then measured across six variations of resistive loads using a digital multimeter, with three repetitions at each measurement point to ensure data validity. The results show that increasing the load resistance is directly proportional to the increase in output voltage, but inversely proportional to the generated current. The Maximum Power Point (MPP) was identified at a resistive load of 90 Ω with a power output of 33.64 mW. This phenomenon demonstrates that the parallel configuration of the piezoelectric array effectively reduces the internal impedance of the system, allowing optimal energy transfer within a low-load range.

Abstract

The proliferation of imported animated shows that lack educational value, coupled with the limited number of local animated characters portrayed as role models, underscores the need for an in-depth study of characters in Indonesian animated series. This study aims to analyze the character of Adit as a role model for elementary school students in the animated film Adit & Sopo Jarwo. This study employs a qualitative approach using content analysis. Data were collected through observation of dialogue, behavior, and interactions among characters across six episodes from the official MD Animation YouTube channel. Data analysis followed the interactive model by Miles & Huberman through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results indicate that there are 9 positive character traits consistently displayed by the character Adit, including helping others, cooperation, leadership, courage to try new things, admitting mistakes, enthusiasm for learning, responsibility, perseverance, and trustworthiness. These values are conveyed through a simple storyline that is close to children’s daily lives, making them easy to understand, internalize, and emulate. Thus, the animated film Adit & Sopo Jarwo is worthy of recommendation to educators and parents as an effective character education learning medium for elementary school students.
