Abstract

This study aims to describe the cultural values ​​in the Mangain tradition of the Toba Batak people through traditional utterances spoken during the Mangain ceremony. The analysis was conducted using Edward Djamaris's theory of cultural values ​​to uncover the messages contained in the utterances. This study is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach that aims to systematically describe the facts and phenomena found in the field. The data collection technique used is the interview technique, which was chosen to obtain in-depth and comprehensive data. In its implementation, the researcher interviewed three sources, namely traditional leaders, community elders, and individuals who had been directly involved in the Mangain tradition. The results of the study indicate that the Mangain tradition contains various cultural values, including cultural values ​​in the relationship between humans and God, the relationship between humans and nature, the relationship between humans and society, the relationship between humans and other humans, and the relationship between humans and themselves.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the paradoxical phenomenon between the quality of internal school governance and the reality of infrastructure limitations at SD No 3 Sading. A descriptive qualitative approach using the case study method was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and School-Based Management (SBM) assessment instruments. The results show that, quantitatively, SBM implementation is in the "Good" category with a score of 81/100, supported by very strong administrative compliance. However, qualitatively, a significant disconnection was found in the form of physical infrastructure damage and high teacher workloads due to dual administrative roles. The study concludes that the sustainability of school quality relies heavily on leadership resilience and community social capital, which function as a substitute mechanism for the lack of sectoral financial support from the government. Synchronization between managerial achievement and physical assistance priorities is an urgent necessity for future educational policies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) in improving school quality through the role of stakeholders at SD No. 3 Legian. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the school principal, direct observation, and documentation studies, and subsequently analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results indicate that the implementation of SBM at SD No. 3 Legian was carried out by involving internal stakeholders, including the principal, teachers, staff, and students, as well as external stakeholders, including parents, the school committee, the Department of Education, the surrounding community, universities, and local business actors. Collaborative activities were realized through programs such as market day, environmental care, arts performances, Teacher Working Groups (KKG), and various social activities. Challenges encountered included limited operational funds, parents' time constraints due to work obligations, and limited community awareness, which were addressed through open communication and the utilization of digital technology. Stakeholder support was proven to have a positive influence on the improvement of academic quality, non-academic quality, and public trust in the school. Transparency and accountability in school management fostered a sustainable cycle of participation, resulting in continuous improvement of educational quality at SD No. 3 Legian. Abstract

This study is a classroom action research study aimed at improving the learning process and outcomes through the use of animated video media in the science subject of the human digestive system in class VB SDI Oepura 3. Initial problems identified were low student learning outcomes and a lack of student engagement due to the limited use of media, resulting in students' lack of interest and difficulty understanding the material. Based on these conditions, learning innovations were needed to increase student interest and understanding. The study was conducted in two cycles, encompassing planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Twenty students participated in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data collection methods included tests and non-tests. Pretests and posttests were used to measure learning outcomes, while observations were used to assess learning activities. The results showed an increase in student learning completion. Initially, only 30%, or 6 students, completed the task. In the first cycle, this increased to 60%, or 12 students, and in the second cycle, it reached 85%, or 17 students. These results indicate that animated video media is effective in improving learning outcomes and student engagement.

Abstract

This study examines the role of rafting activities as an experiential learning medium in fostering team cohesion among Physical Education students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The research employed a quantitative descriptive design involving 81 students from the 2022 cohort who participated in rafting activities at the Upper Progo River, Magelang, Indonesia, in 2025. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire based on the Group Environment Questionnaire (GEQ), measuring task cohesion and social cohesion dimensions. Descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis were applied to analyze the data. The results indicate that the overall level of team cohesion was categorized as very high, with mean scores ranging from 4.31 to 4.72 on a five-point Likert scale. A total of 77.3% of respondents fell into the very high category, while 22.7% were classified as high, with no respondents in the moderate or lower categories. Correlation analysis revealed significant positive relationships among GEQ indicators, ranging from weak to very strong (r = 0.19–0.77, p < 0.05), demonstrating a strong interconnection between task cohesion and social cohesion. These findings suggest that rafting activities create a structured experiential environment that enhances communication, trust, coordination, and social bonding within student groups.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of varied teaching materials used in review text learning, which caused students’ interest and understanding to remain low. This study aimed to develop review text teaching materials assisted by the application Piktochart for eighth-grade junior high school students and to determine the feasibility level of the developed product. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method by adapting the simplified Borg and Gall model, which consisted of several stages, namely potential and problem analysis, data collection, product design, design validation, and product revision. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The research instruments included validation sheets from material experts, media experts, and Indonesian language teachers. The results showed that the developed review text leaflet teaching materials assisted by Piktochart were categorized as highly feasible for use in the learning process, with an average assessment percentage of 92.61%. The developed product was arranged concisely, systematically, and attractively, and was adjusted to the Learning Outcomes (CP) of Phase D in the Merdeka Curriculum. Therefore, the Piktochart-assisted leaflet teaching materials are suitable for use as learning media to help improve students’ understanding and learning interest in review text materials.

Abstract

The era of digital disruption in the 21st century has brought fundamental changes to the education system, where technology is no longer just a tool but has become the main driver of changes in the learning paradigm. This research aims to examine educational adaptation strategies in facing the challenges of digital disruption, with a focus on the balance between technological skills and character formation. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature study approach (library research), where data is analyzed from various relevant literature, theories and previous research results. The research results show that an effective educational adaptation strategy involves optimizing educational technology, such as the use of digital libraries and e-learning systems, to encourage students to think critically, creatively and collaboratively. However, it was found that technological adaptation alone was not enough; educational character remains the main pillar for mitigating the negative impacts of easy access to information, such as exposure to negative content. Therefore, educational strategies in the era of disruption must integrate technological innovation with the cultivation of strong personal values. With proper management through policies such as Merdeka Belajar and digitalization of schools, it is hoped that the world of education will be able to produce a generation that is not only digitally proficient but also has good character integrity in facing the dynamics of the 21st century.

Abstract

This study investigated the effect of using the surrounding environment as a learning resource on concept mastery and creative thinking among fourth-grade students in Sikka Regency. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group was applied. The population included all fourth-grade students in the area, with SDK Maumere I serving as the control group receiving traditional teacher-centered instruction, and SDK Maumere III as the experimental group using the environment as a learning resource. Samples were selected through simple random sampling. Research instruments included tests measuring creative thinking and concept mastery. Data were analyzed for homogeneity using Box’s M test and for normality using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov method. Hypotheses were tested using independent sample t-tests for univariate mean differences and MANOVA with Hotelling T² for multivariate effects. Results indicated that environmental-based learning significantly improved concept mastery (p = 0.000), enhanced creative thinking (p = 0.037), and positively affected both outcomes simultaneously (p = 0.000). The findings suggest that integrating the environment into thematic learning can effectively promote both conceptual understanding and creative skills in elementary students.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology in the healthcare sector has created an urgent need for faster, more precise, and more efficient patient care systems, particularly in managing intravenous (IV) therapy for hospitalized patients. A persistent challenge faced by many hospitals is the continued reliance on manual IV fluid monitoring by nursing staff, a practice that carries inherent risks of delayed fluid replacement and compromised patient safety. In response to this challenge, the present study undertakes the design and development of a smart IV monitoring system integrated with a nurse call feature, constructed upon the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm and powered by Long Range (LoRa) wireless communication technology (Samsiana et al., 2024; Priyandoko, 2021).The architecture of the developed system comprises a patient-side node equipped with a load cell sensor for real-time IV fluid weight measurement and an infrared (IR) sensor for drip flow detection, complemented by a physical nurse call button enabling direct communication between patients and nursing personnel. Data acquired by each node is transmitted wirelessly via a LoRa module to an ESP32-based gateway, which processes the incoming data stream, converts it into JSON format, and relays it to a web server for visualization on a centralized monitoring dashboard. The study adopts a Research and Development (R&D) methodology with an experimental approach encompassing the phases of system design, hardware and software implementation, functional testing, and comprehensive performance evaluation (Pratama et al., 2021).Empirical testing conducted under both indoor and outdoor conditions confirms that the system operates reliably and stably across varying distances. The average response time recorded for IV status monitoring falls within the range of 9 to 12 seconds, while the nurse call feature demonstrates a considerably faster response time of approximately 1 to 5 seconds. LoRa-based communication proved robust for real-time data transmission, with latency increasing proportionally with distance. The findings substantiate that the proposed system holds significant potential to enhance IV monitoring efficiency, accelerate nursing staff response, and ultimately contribute to improved quality of care in hospital settings (Rohman et al., 2023; Rahmanto et al., 2025).

Abstract

This study aims to design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based server room access logging system using facial recognition technology. Conventional security systems such as mechanical locks and access cards have several limitations, including vulnerability to loss, duplication, and unauthorized access, as well as the absence of automatic activity logging. Therefore, this research proposes an integrated system that combines facial recognition for authentication with real-time access logging and monitoring. The system utilizes ESP32-CAM as an image acquisition device, while face detection is performed using the Haar Cascade method and identification is conducted using cosine similarity. Data collection was carried out by capturing 50 facial images per registered user at a distance of approximately 30 cm with variations in facial angles. The system was tested under real operational conditions, showing an average accuracy of 91% with a response time of approximately 1–2 seconds. In addition, the system successfully records access activities, including access status and user data, which can be monitored through a web-based interface. The results indicate that the proposed system can improve server room security by providing automated authentication, access control, and real-time monitoring in an integrated manner.
