Abstract

Democratic education plays a crucial role in shaping the character of citizens from an early age. At the elementary school level, Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) serves as a strategic tool for instilling democratic values in students. This study aims to systematically analyze the application of democratic values in PPKn learning in elementary schools, based on various published research findings. The research method used was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA steps. Data were obtained from relevant national and international journal articles through the Google Scholar and Garuda databases. The articles reviewed were selected using predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of the study indicate that the democratic values most frequently applied in Civics (PPKn) learning in elementary schools include deliberation, tolerance, freedom of expression, responsibility, and active student participation. These values are implemented through various learning strategies, including group discussions, class deliberations, class leader elections, and problem-based learning. However, several obstacles remain, such as limited learning time and differences in students' understanding levels. Therefore, innovation in learning and the active role of teachers are needed to optimize the implementation of democratic education in PPKn learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Larungan ritual art as a learning medium in instilling the value of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) among fifth-grade elementary school students. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through technique and source triangulation. The results show that the integration of the Larungan ritual art in learning activities under the theme of Cultural Diversity creates contextual and meaningful learning experiences. Students demonstrated positive changes, including increased enthusiasm, improved cooperation in group activities, and the development of social concern and solidarity as reflections of the value of mutual cooperation. Supporting factors include school support for the use of local culture as a learning resource, students’ enthusiasm, and a coastal cultural environment that continues to preserve the Larungan tradition, while the main obstacles are limited instructional time and teachers’ readiness to integrate cultural values into learning. Overall, the implementation of the Larungan ritual art contributes positively to character education, particularly in strengthening the value of mutual cooperation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of family education in transmitting skills and internalizing the cultural values of Batik Gedog in Margorejo Village, Tuban Regency. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving Batik Gedog artisan families who have maintained the tradition across generations. The findings reveal that the family serves as the primary space for transmitting batik-making skills through the direct involvement of children in daily activities. The transmission process occurs informally through habituation, modeling, and continuous family interaction. Values such as perseverance, responsibility, cooperation, and commitment to cultural heritage are gradually internalized and shape the character of the younger generation. The novelty of this study lies in highlighting the role of family education as the main mechanism for internalizing cultural values in sustaining the Batik Gedog tradition. Although modernization and the growth of industrial batik present challenges to the sustainability of the tradition, the stability of family-based education remains the main supporting factor for cultural preservation. Therefore, strengthening family education based on local cultural values should be considered in educational policies and cultural preservation efforts.

Abstract

Indonesia is a unitary country that has a diversity of ethnicities, races, religions, and languages, with Indonesian as the national language and a unifying tool. In its development, the use of Indonesian language often experiences code mixing and language interference, especially in the Papua region such as Sorong City which has high linguistic complexity. From a linguistic point of view, this region shows a variety of typologies and language clusters, so this study focuses on the interference of the local dialect of Sorong on the use of oral formal Indonesian in students of Muhammadiyah Al-Amin High School. The research aims to analyze and identify these forms of interference. The research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method to describe the linguistic phenomena that occur. Data was collected through field observations, recordings, field notes, and interviews with subject teachers. The focus of the study is the use of a mixture of regional language and Indonesian vocabulary that appear simultaneously in student communication. The results of the study show that there is a phenomenon of language mixing with the discovery of fifty-five regional vocabulary used in Indonesian conversations. This interference gives rise to linguistic variations in phonology, morphology, lexical, syntactic, and semantic aspects as students interact in class. These findings show the importance of developing a language curriculum that emphasizes a balance between mastery of regional languages and Indonesian through an educational approach.

Abstract

The development of technology and information in the 21st century has changed the literacy landscape. Individuals are required not only to have literacy but also various forms of literacy called multiliteracy. Multiliteracy assessments are necessary to capture the complexity of students' ability to navigate and create meaning in a variety of modes, beyond the limitations of text-based evaluation alone. This study aims to analyze in depth the practice of formative, summative, and authentic assessment in the context of the multiliteracy paradigm in elementary schools, as well as identify challenges in its implementation. The type of research is qualitative with a case study design. The research instrument used interview sheets with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and document studies. The findings of the study are that the practice of multiliteracy assessment in elementary schools has evolved from simple to complex, including cognitive enhancement, reflective approaches, and multimodality integration. These findings confirm the role of assessment in building multiliteracy comprehensively. The implication is that it is necessary to strengthen teacher competence, adaptive instruments, and the use of technology to optimize implementation.
