Abstract

Field conditions indicate that students’ learning interest at SMP Negeri 22 Kota Jambi varies. This can be seen from the presence of students who demonstrate enthusiasm, attention, interest, and active involvement during the learning process, while some students still show low participation, pay less attention to the teacher’s explanations, and are less involved in classroom activities. This condition highlights the importance of conducting research to obtain an overview of students’ learning interest levels. This study aims to describe the level of students’ learning interest at SMP Negeri 22 Kota Jambi based on the indicators of enjoyment, attention, interest, and involvement. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 231 respondents. The results showed that students’ learning interest at SMP Negeri 22 Kota Jambi was generally categorized as high, with a percentage score of 77.31%. Based on the research indicators, the percentage of enjoyment was 78.19%, attention was 76.29%, interest was 74.20%, and involvement was 80.66%, all of which were categorized as high. The findings indicate that students generally have good learning interest in participating in the learning process. However, continuous improvement is still needed to optimize student participation in learning activities. Therefore, collaboration among teachers, school counselors, schools, and parents is necessary to create an engaging, conducive, and supportive learning environment to further enhance students’ learning interest.

Abstract

Based on the phenomena that occur amidst the development of the times and the flow of modernization, the existence of the Rokat Tase’ tradition often experiences a shift in values and is even starting to be abandoned by the younger generation. This study aims to; First, describe the process of internalizing the values of Islamic Religious Education in the Rokat Tase’ tradition. Second, the role of the Rokat Tase’ tradition as a medium for character education. Third, the supporting and inhibiting factors for the internalization of the values of Islamic Religious Education in the Rokat Tase’ tradition in the coastal community of Pasean Pamekasan. The Rokat Tase’ tradition is a culture of fishing communities that is carried out as a form of gratitude to Allah SWT for the sustenance and safety given, as well as an effort to ask for blessings in life. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research type. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation involving religious leaders, community leaders, the implementing committee, and the local community. The results of the study show that; First, the internalization of the values of Islamic Religious Education in the Rokat Tase’ tradition is carried out through various religious activities such as religious studies, reading the Qur'an, tahlil, istighasah, group prayers, and alms. The internalized values include religious values, gratitude, trust (Tawakal), social concern, mutual cooperation, togetherness, and responsibility. Second, the Rokat Tase’ tradition serves as a medium for character education that is able to shape the religious, social, cultural character, and independence of coastal communities. Third, supporting factors for the internalization of these values include support from religious and community leaders, high social solidarity, and a religious community environment. Inhibiting factors include the influence of modernization, low understanding of the meaning of tradition among some communities, limited funding, differences in religious views, and minimal involvement of the younger generation. Thus, the Rokat Tase’ tradition not only functions as a local cultural heritage, but also as an effective means of instilling Islamic Religious Education values and shaping the character of the coastal community of Pasean Pamekasan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the teacher's strategies in using audio-visual media to improve the articulation ability of children aged 5-6 years at TK Angkasa Lanud El Tari Kupang. The background of this research was based on the finding that 2 out of 16 children in group B2 experienced articulation disorders, characterized by mispronunciation of consonants R as L, K as T, and G as D. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data validity was tested using technical triangulation. The results show that the teacher applied planned and systematic strategies through several stages: (1) lesson planning that explicitly includes audio-visual media in the teaching module; (2) media selection comprising YouTube animation videos, children’s songs, and age-appropriate colorful images; (3) implementation of learning using direct imitation, individual feedback, and repeated practice; and (4) evaluation and follow-up through daily observation and communication with parents. Audio-visual media proved effective in increasing children’s motivation, enthusiasm, and pronunciation ability, including visible progress in a child who previously said “lumah” beginning to attempt “rumah”. It is concluded that the planned, consistent, and needs-based use of audio-visual media is an effective strategy for improving early childhood articulation ability. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve students' mathematical creative thinking skills through the implementation of the Discovery Learning model assisted by GeoGebra. This research was motivated by the low level of students' mathematical creative thinking skills, as indicated by the pre-cycle test results showing that only 1 out of 32 students (3.12%) achieved the minimum mastery criterion. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the study were 32 students of class X.2 at SMAN 9 Mataram in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The learning process was carried out using the Discovery Learning model assisted by GeoGebra on the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SLETV). The results showed a significant improvement in students' mathematical creative thinking skills. Learning mastery increased from 3.12% in the pre-cycle stage to 87.50% in Cycle I, exceeding the predetermined success indicator of 75%. The improvement occurred because Discovery Learning encouraged students to actively discover concepts through investigation and problem-solving activities, while GeoGebra facilitated concept visualization and exploration of various solution strategies. Therefore, the Discovery Learning model assisted by GeoGebra can be considered an effective alternative for improving students' mathematical creative thinking skills.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing spiritual problems among Generation Z in the era of digital disruption, characterized by tendencies toward extreme religious attitudes, either in the form of rigid religiosity or shallow emotional spirituality. This research aims to analyze the relevance of Khawarij and Shi’ah theological concepts as a framework to understand such spiritual crises. The research questions focus on the concepts of Khawarij and Shi’ah theology, their comparison, and their relevance to the spiritual issues of Generation Z. This study employs a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach, using conceptual and comparative analysis. Data were collected from classical and contemporary literature and analyzed through content analysis techniques, including data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that Khawarij theology represents a rigid, exclusive, and judgmental pattern of religiosity, while Shi’ah theology reflects a pattern based on spiritual authority and emotional depth. In the context of Generation Z, these patterns manifest in modern religious behaviors such as judgmental attitudes on social media and dependency on spiritual figures. Therefore, a moderate approach that integrates moral firmness and spiritual depth is needed to build a balanced, inclusive, and adaptive religious character in facing contemporary challenges.
