Abstract

The implementation of the discussion method in elementary education is considered to be in line with children's developmental characteristics at the concrete operational stage. The use of the discussion method in Pancasila Education is essential because the learning process focuses not only on understanding knowledge but also on developing students’ attitudes and character. This study aims to explore and analyze students’ attitudes, knowledge, and life skills through the implementation of the discussion method in Pancasila Education learning from a comprehensive educational perspective. This study employed a qualitative research approach with a descriptive qualitative design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification techniques. The findings of the study reveal that: (1) the implementation of the discussion method in Pancasila Education learning for third-grade students was carried out through several stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation; (2) teachers’ efforts in implementing the discussion method were conducted through the use of interactive learning strategies, the cultivation of habits and character values, and the contextualization of learning materials with students’ real-life experiences; and (3) the discussion method had a positive impact on students’ cognitive and affective understanding, character formation, and social skills development. Therefore, the discussion method can be considered an effective learning strategy for strengthening students’ character while enhancing active participation and meaningful learning experiences in Pancasila Education. Abstract

Literary works often portray various psychological phenomena experienced by characters, one of which is inferiority feeling. This psychological condition is also reflected in Tere Liye's novel Harga Sebuah Percaya through the main character, Jim, who experiences profound inner conflicts after losing someone he deeply loves. This study aims to describe the forms of inferiority feeling experienced by Jim based on Alfred Adler's Individual Psychology. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The data source was the novel Harga Sebuah Percaya by Tere Liye, while the data consisted of textual excerpts indicating inferiority feeling. Data were collected through close reading and note-taking techniques and analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that Jim's inferiority feeling is manifested in three forms: (1) anxiety and helplessness, (2) negative self-evaluation, and (3) guilt and regret. These psychological conditions emerge as responses to traumatic experiences, particularly the loss of a loved one. Nevertheless, Jim's inferiority feeling does not merely represent psychological weakness but also functions as a motivating force that encourages him to reflect on himself, overcome adversity, and seek the meaning of life, in accordance with Alfred Adler's theory of Individual Psychology.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of the Role Play learning model on improving empathy skills among fourth-grade elementary school students. The problem addressed in this study was students’ empathy skills that had begun to develop but were not consistently demonstrated during classroom interactions, such as appreciating peers with different learning abilities and providing support to friends experiencing difficulties. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent control group design. The participants were 64 fourth-grade students at SDN Lemah Luhurin in the 2025/2026 academic year, consisting of 32 students from Class IV A as the experimental group and 32 students from Class IV Bas the control group, selected from a total population of 71 students (35 in Class IV A and 36 in Class IV B). Data were collected using an empathy questionnaire based on Michele Borba’s empathy dimensions, supported by observation and documentation. The data were analyzed using validity and reliability testing, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene’s homogeneity test, and an independent sample t-test. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The independent sample t-test yielded t = -3.611 with Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.001, indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. Thus, the role-play learning model is effective in improving students’ empathy skills.

Abstract

The Indonesian film industry has been rapidly developing through digital technology, such as the use of VFX in the film Qodrat 2 (2025). However, academic studies on the creative dimensions of the animators behind it remain very limited. This study aims to analyze how animator creativity is manifested in combining 3D modeling and VFX particle effects, as well as to examine how the application of the 12 Basic Principles of Animation influences the visual quality of the film. This research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, conducted through indepth interviews with the VFX Supervisor and VFX Artist who were directly involved in the production of Qodrat 2. The findings show that animator creativity is manifested in three main areas: the creation of 3D models with a visually threatening atmosphere, the configuration of particle effects through physics-based simulations and manual control, and the integration of physical realism with deliberate imperfection strategies to create a mystical atmosphere. In addition, the 12 Basic Principles of Animation are strongly confirmed in seven principles, such as Follow Through and Arcs, while the classical principle of Exaggeration is less dominant in the religious horror genre. This study concludes that animator creativity serves as a bridge between technology and visual communication, with the philosophy of invisible VFX as its main orientation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and validate an academic flow instrument in elementary school mathematics learning. The instrument was constructed based on Csikszentmihalyi’s flow theory, which includes the aspects of absorption, enjoyment, and intrinsic motivation. The initial instrument consisted of 30 items administered to 30 sixth-grade students. Validity analysis was conducted using the Rasch model with the assistance of Winstep software, while reliability was tested using Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient. The results of the analysis showed that 6 items did not meet the validity criteria and were therefore removed. The final instrument consisted of 24 valid items. Reliability testing yielded a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.81, indicating that the internal consistency of the instrument was in the good category. Thus, the developed academic flow instrument proved to be valid and reliable, and is suitable for assessing the extent to which students experience flow in mathematics learning at the elementary school level. This instrument is expected to assist teachers in designing more effective and engaging learning strategies, as well as provide a foundation for further research on the relationship between flow and other variables in education.
